You and Geneijin's avatars are absolutely infuriating.

Addendum: I will be reposting the list once per page to reduce spam.

Dantalian no Shoka 08

Two episodes in one really.
First is the "Book of Equivalence" which allowed you to barter for items based upon their owners desire for the item. Camilla runs around town trading items, slowly towards more precious items... al just for a rare teddy bear for Dantalian. They played up the dangers of the book, only to defuse it through Camila's foolishness.

Second episode is "Book of Relationship", where Armand the womanizer makes his return. Overall a comedic episode. Although I wish they'd get towards the overarching plot, and stop this monster of the week buisness.
I don't mind episodic shows, but you have to make me care about the world and the characters first. Mushishi, for example, did that very well, this show does not.
I don't even know if there is an overarching plot. Besides, they've only got five episodes left; going to have to chalk this one up to just another failed light novel adaptation.

Why are we so meta? I don't want to disappoint either side :(
You can't disappoint the not enjoy side. If you like it, it means you're not completely dead inside. If you don't like it, it means your Shounen haato still holds sway over you.

Ringo Destiny - 8

Well, well, well....

that's all I have to say about that.

...can't wait for Ringo man-raping doujinshi!

Usagi Drop 5-8: HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!!

If you're wondering why I'm only watching these now, I like to watch "cute" shows in chunks, rather than just one episode at a time. When I need cute, one episode just isn't enough.

It is more satisfying if you hold off for a while...

Yeah it is for this type of show. For me, anyway. I'll watch one episode, get all HNNNNNNNNNNGed up, and then realize I have to wait another week to get my HNNNNNNNNNNG on. Just doesn't satisfy. When I wait a few weeks though, it's sooo worth the wait.

HNNNNNNNNNNG!

Easy solution: rewatch everything.

Or get Cardcaptor Sakura. 70 eps of HNNNNG

Nichijou 22: Episode was underwhelming until Nano and the Professor appeared. As usual, Sakamoto is the one stealing the spotlight. There's not enough for that black cat around here. >:(

Usagi Drop 9

Excellent episode all around. I like how this show deals with what it means to be a family, especially when it does it in a subtle way like this (unlike episode 7).

Those two have got to hook up.

Interestingly enough, there is little to no HNNNNNNNG in Simoun. The character designs are intentionally not so much cute as they are pretty. The two-tone eyes start out being really creepy but you get used to them and eventually grow to love them.

We are on the same page
or are we? :P

Working'!! Preview: I don't really remember the first season in specifics, but I'm not surprised by the staff change. All new backgrounds and direction... At the moment, I still have no idea if it's worse or better than the first season, but the change really seemed noticeable to me. I want to say it looks higher budget, but I have no clue.

Simoun 8:

SHIT JUST GOT REAL

The world religions most commonly associated with fanaticism and warfare today are the "big three" Abrahamic traditions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Other religions which were exploited for purposes of war have either been destroyed or stripped of almost all power, leaving these monotheistic religions which ironically share a common origin to make war with each other.

It's not hard to see the parallels between the events of the peace conference between Plumbum and Simulacrum
which was actually intended as a terrorist attack and ambush
and the real events going on in the world today. The description of how the Animus and Tempus Spatium religions diverged from what is believed to be a common origin almost matches the divergence of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity perfectly. There is no way that wasn't intentional, and it sets up the events of this episode.

It's interesting that this show invents languages for the other countries. Earlier, we see people from Argentum speaking a different language. The Plumbish people also speak a different language as well, and require their priestesses to translate, since as a part of being a priestess they presumably need to learn the language of their holy books, which is evidently the same language used throughout Simulacrum. In that sense, it could be thought of as the same as Latin, a language on Earth which is no longer used except for scholars of early Christianity, especially in the Catholic Church.

Episode Summary:

The peace conference is underway. Negotiations between the Simulacrum and Plumbum diplomats occur in a conference room, overseen by 3 priestesses from Plumbum who can speak both languages.

One of the priestesses, a young girl named Angulas, is left in the care of members of Chor Tempest during the conference, as it is decided that only two priestesses are necessary for translation purposes.

Mamiina explains her origin story. Elsewhere, Limone is in the ship's library poring over a Plumbish language dictionary. Dominura finds here there looking up Plumbish words.

During the conference, one of the priestesses sends a signal to the Plumbish warship below the Arcus Prima. The warship fires off a flare, which signals Angulas to produce a handgun and take Kaimu hostage.

Angulas forces Kaimu at gunpoint to take her to one of the Simoun hangars, where she produces a bomb and sets it off in an apparent suicide bombing, destroying all the Simouns in the hangar. Before she detonates it, she screams "AAAA-EEEE-RU!" In the conference room, the "negotiators" from Plumbum all commit suicide with handguns they kept hidden in their clothes. The Plumbish warship begins firing on the Arcus Prima in a surprise attack.

Aaeru and the other members of Chor Tempest, who witness this event, are shocked. Limone and Dominura explain that in the Plumbish language, the word 'aaeru' means the divine love, the love of God. Aaeru doesn't understand why her name means this, or why the priestess blows herself and the Simouns up.

Neviril also witnesses this event, and realizes now that she can't wait any longer to make a decision about whether to keep flying the Simouns or go to the Spring. She declares at long last that Aaeru will be her pair.

The Arcus Prima has two hangars, and Chor Tempest take off with the Simouns in the other hangar to defend the Arcus Prima from the Plumbish surprise assault.

I don't know, what do you want from this show, drama? I don't. I don't really want harem comedy either -- it was better when it was something else, in the first few episodes, with just a few characters and a semi-serious, semi-comical plot --

I mean, I do agree that the show's not nearly as good as it seemed like it could have been earlier on (though I did mostly like ep. 1), but this one, worst episode? I don't think so.

Kanade's trolling was weak this episode, not enough Subaru, too much tsundere girl and the whole drama over the garterbelt fanservice was just plain dumb.

Dragonaut: The Resonance Ep.1-3

Why am I alone? Why am I still alive? Where are my pants? Who are you? Am I in love? Why do I look like Sasuke? How old am I? Are you my friend? Is the music too good for this show? What is a dragon? Are you my dad? Why is my dad dead? How long do I microwave popcorn? Can we hold hands? What is your favorite album? Am I a ghost? What is you favorite color? Am I pregnant? What is that up ahead? What is actualization? Why does the butler have such awesome hair? What can we do? Am I evil? A dragon, but how? Am I a dragon? Did you just shoot me? Can this be real? Is he riding on a dragon? Is clothing optional? Are booty shorts still sexy? Are you jelly? Do I give a fuck? Is this much CG necessary? Can breasts really get that big? Can they? CAN THEY?!

IF ONLY.

This is really boring. First skit had potential but it's just a light lampoon of shonen love comedies, that ends up going nowhere. Couldn't last past the halfway mark.

Wait, they didn't get the same people for the dub? LOL

Duckroll is risking his membership in the club with his posts yesterday! Breaks my heart.

7th too but he was never accepted to begin with.

Wait, so the book of bartering only makes people willing to trade with you and not allow you to trade some worthless crap for valuable stuff? That's kind of limited and would probably be pretty annoying.

Too much Blood-C and Idolmaster is bad for the mind.

One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island

That was pretty good. Hosoda, as always, is one of the best directors when it comes to having characters interact and play off of one another. The story itself was alright, though the endless chants of nakama get pretty old after a while. Some of the CGI and compositing was distracting, though there were some pretty nice shots too.

Overall, it's not as good as TGWLTT, but it's probably better than Summer Wars.
Haha, 'probably'. I think it's a few orders of magnitude better, myself.
