Kaiji S2 - 1

Did someone say ZAWA?

Kaiji looks so broken. The mighty has fallen so much. No self-control whatsoever. But hey at least we are gambling next episode.

Bakatest 2 6 - This episode was almost too stupid for words... so, Akihisa and the other guys continue trying to break into the girls' bath, so that they can try to figure out who the one blackmailing Akihisa and Yuuji is. They fail several more times in this episode. At least it's somewhat epic though, their encouragement scenes before each attempt are great stuff... :lol

Seriously though, once again this episode goes so far over the top with the stupid that I don't know if I even want to begin explaining how... but yes, partially despite and partially because of the incredible stupidity, it was often funny.

You want wrong? Did you look at my list of shows I'm watching this season? :)

Geneijin said:
Nah, it happens in every medium of entertainment i.e. today's generation of music sucks, mine was better, etc. There isn't anything hipster about it. I think it's pretty obvious to see how the popularity of something can affect someone's impression of a show. Imagine if you were recommended a popular show. You go in with expectations and those expectations can either elevate or diminish your experience with it. It being popular or even hated as much as it is atop of that amplifies the hype so to speak. Then you correlate your experience with others' experience, and it may or may not reassure your opinion of a popular work.

Of course, it's easier to appreciate things however the fuck you want. Why should others' opinions of something I like affect my enjoyment of it? But that's another discussion entirely.
Yeah, this is absolutely true. Everyone is affected by the opinions of others that's how humans are... and when someone really likes something that other people hate, or vice versa, it's often going to lead to stronger feelings for or against the thing in question.

I like Noir, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, El Cazador, and Madlax. I'm not a fan of .hack in general.
You can quote just the part of the post you're actually replying to you know, just delete the rest of it... but yeah, I definitely like hack sign.

Mayo Chiki 6: For the love of - she's showing her fucking CLEAVAGE!! How the fuck can... *sigh* you know what, never mind. At least she's cute in a Chinese dress.
I think that sums up everyone's feelings about the matter...

Oh, my sweet megane!! Random observation: I haven't seen a single teacher in this school. There were nurses in the 2nd episode, but no teachers.
Huh, I hadn't thought of that, but I guess it's true... odd.

And Kureha is not-so-secretly having lesbian tendencies.
No she's not, Subaru's obviously male and she's totally straight, right?

And of course Subaru's in S4, that's the only thing that made sense. What a bunch of stalkers! Knowing about people who manage random vending machines Subaru uses? Really?

Well, everyone's friends now. Which means even more misunderstandings up ahead! Despite how completely fucking ridiculous this show is, I'm not hating it like I thought I would. I like the artwork, and I like music-coming-to-a-grinding-halt gags which this show has in spades, so I'll see where this goes.
Yeah, the show's okay. It's definitely not great, and I do think the new girl from ep. 5 is pretty annoying and the show would be better without her, but it is decently entertaining.

That's, erm, exactly what the PS2 .hack games are.
Yeah, but they're not that great... and the button-mashing combat is very different from the auto-attacking you'd get in almost any actual MMO. Because of that, FF12 actually felt about as much like a single-player MMO to me as the .hack games do...

KamiMemo 2-3
Meh. Narumi is a complete pushover and I really don't like him. The part with him giving the speech to share sake with the Fourth felt cheesy to me and not in a good way.

Manyuu Hikenchou 1
Watched the uncensored version, I liked it.

Sket Dance 20

Hah, nice Bakuman reference. Though the episode was pretty weak overall, since it relies almost entirely on manzai references and Japanese wordplay. Next week is one of the better chapters though, plus it has a small bit of setup for
Switch's backstory
, so looking forward to that.

Ah, I get what you mean. Like an offline Azeroth or something?

I was kinda thinking that if you did it well enough you might be able to craft a story with offline and online components.

I was rereading one of the .hack manga that I purchased from EB when I was very young and was struck by just how shit it was...

Auto-attacking is lame.

They actually messed up the intro a bit by cutting out a certain scene. Kaiji caused a ton of damage
to the company Tonegawa ran, causing a major shift in all the stuff that Hyoudo oversees. Just a nice little thought that what Kaiji did in season 1 wasn't TOTALLY pointless.

He's gotten less bitch status over the last few episodes.

I was referring to her basically rubbing herself all over the fuck-me-boots girl at the cafe. Certainly explains why she'd love such an "effeminate man" like Subaru. :-P

I can't keep track of names, speak in archetypes, damn you!

Imouto rubs herself against fuck-me-boots tsundere girl explains why she's so attracted to the girl whos's supposed to be a pretty boy in a chinese dress with tits clearly in view.

Better? :-P

This thing was in the manga right? I wonder why they didn't mention it in the recap.

Usagi Drop 7

Still the best slice-of-life show this season. Though yeah, that was different from the usual happy end to an episode. Thank goodness for Kouki and his mom, and the great post-credits scene.

Usagi Drop 7

Still the best slice-of-life show this season. Though yeah, that was kind of an awkward way to end the episode. "Oh well, I still don't like my husband and in-laws, but I'll just have to bear with it since it's the best for my daughter."
Thank goodness for Kouki and his mom, and the great post-credits scene.

I don't see how that's an awkward end to it, this is something that is rather common in respect to some marriages.

Yeah, though I still don't know what 'fuck-me-boots' are :T

Well, yeah, I'm not saying it's not true, just awkward compared to the usual way that an episode has the main problem "solved" by the end. I didn't think it was a bad way to end it, at any rate.

It's kind of interesting the timing of the Usagi Drops anime being now as there's also a live-action movie for it too. The daughter is played by Mana Ashida, she's so ridiculously cute.

IKNOWRITE!!!

(in a purely non creepy way)

I'm watching it when it opens tomorrow.

Mawaru Penguindrum 6

Well, the answer to
what the diary is
isn't quite what I was expecting. Also,
I don't think I have the right image to properly express Ringo in this episode.

If those are the boots you're wearing, than that's the message you're sending to me. :/ Just my opinion, naturally. No offense is intended.

Usagi Drop 7
Kind of a depressing end for Haruko. If she's really that miserable she should do something about it. Whether talking with her husband or someone else but that kind of situation isn't healthy for her or Reina.

I don't remember that part, who are you talking about her rubbing against?

I don't either.

RurouniZel said:
Thigh high boots. These (linking 'cause it's a larger image)
Oh... her. Yeah, she has thighhigh boots, but they're mostly there as zettai ryouiki enablers I would say, just with a slightly different look from the usual thighhigh stockings. That's what it's about, not what you're saying.

InfiniteNine said:

Endlessly mashing a button is not better.

They sacrificed themselves for boobs, a worthy cause.
This is true.

The point isn't that you can't post the boobs, it's that the boobs must be posted.

It's okay I9, I won't judge you <3

Blood C 6
wtf wtf wtf
Oh god the twins, not the twins! D:
. Duckroll was right though, pretty cool episode. It's a shame about the censoring.

Alright, alright. I apologize for calling them fuck-me-boots. I didn't mean to insult anyone. :/

*runs away in shame*

cajunator said:
Look up pictures of Meg from Burst Angel. She wore fuck-me-boots. Oh boy did she ever wear them.

I see this anime has a bunch of big boobed women wearing almost nothing. I guess it's a must watch then?

Censored violence with giant white bars. Which is odd, since they didn't do it until now. Perhaps it was the nature of the violence, which appeared to be quite gruesome.

Don't apologize. I have heard of them called fuck-me-boots and I wholeheartedly agree with the term.

8 movies in a week? Pfft I could do that over a weekend.

And I do quite often. Sadly. No time for animus left~
16 hours watching movies in a weekend is too much for me, sadly. It's why I don't want to get into old TV shows nowadays - it's an easy way to lose all that time.

What did you expect? The Daichi's mom gave up her life to raise him and his sister.

Welcome to the Space Show

Here's my failed attempt at an image macro review:
IUvGS.png

(This is why I'm not a graphic designer anyway. I couldn't even figure out where to put the + signs, so I just omitted them :p)

This was a really fun movie anyway. Maybe it's because I haven't seen a good and fun "in space" science fiction movie in ages, but I was perfectly willing to forgive the kids' film-isms and just enjoy the ride. It really is a perfect mishmash of the films in that picture and feels like such a crowd pleasure... which probably means it bombed in Japan and probably no one is interested in licensing it. At the very least, I feel it's a much stronger film than the fairly similar Summer Wars, despite the fact that Summer Wars is probably the thematically more interesting film of the pair. I guess that proper pacing really does go a long way. Certainly, for a "kids meeting aliens" film, it does the Spielberg thing way better than Super 8.

Probably the only thing that weirded me out was the politics of the film, and that's mostly because of all the Tea Party stuff that has happened recently. Perhaps in Japan, the message of self-reliance is a bit more palatable than it is here... but I can only imagine that Tea Party people (baggers) really believe that socialism is some kind of forced assimilation/hybridization imposed by some evil omnipresence.

And with that, I think I'm done... unless I decide to watch Yamadas tomorrow. :(
