2nd best?

Penguin Drum
Usagi Drop
Kaiji
Gintama

I think someone can't count. :p
Well if we are counting stuff thats running from last season, Kaiji is better than anything else thats on right now. And to be honest Nichijou would be right behind Penguin Drum.

HanaIro still offends me with how predictably Jdrama-ey it is. Then again, I suppose having no standards for Idolmaster helps as well.
Iroha has that Entourage shit going on for it. Its hit the point where its bad writing, direction, or both.

Does nobody on GAF like Natsume Yuujinchou San? I just ran through the first three episodes today it's surprisingly good. Very relaxing but at the same time somewhat unsettling. Has a very unique vibe to it, and executes what it sets out to do pretty well. I'm feel like I never see it brought up on here though, because it seems like one of the better shows of the season. Maybe I just unconsciously skipped over posts about it.

It's my favorite of shows that started this season. It's not going to be too popular though for obvious reasons.

Natsume S3 (2)

I slammed this earlier episode without explaining why I thought that it was bad. As I dislike it when people post claims without any evidence, it would be hypocritical of me not to unpack my previous comment. So, what are the problems with this episode? Let's start from the smallest problem and work upwards.

- Music is used poorly. Far too often a scene will rely too heavily on the music to sell a sequence, or the music will be too loud, or it wont sync up to the visuals.

- The animation is really shoddy. Very little facial animation, lots of shots behind people and from the side so that they don't have to animate faces. Even when they are forced to show faces, nothing moves apart from the lip-flaps, and even that is done cheaply.

- The script is nearly as crappy as last week. Lots of discussion of stuff we already know combined with nothing else of note.

- The framing and cinematography in general is poor. Close up's on faces, random long shots, pointless 3/4 shorts and so forth. A lot of the images look very 'flat', like they have no depth. It's like everyone is performing on a stage.

- Tomino-level pacing. I'm not even kidding. Tomino-level pacing. It feels like every scene has already been running for about ten seconds before we arrive, and we always cut away from the scene at an unnatural time.

- No transitions, smooth or otherwise, between scenes. This ties directly into pacing but I feel it was so awful in this episode that it needs it's own bullet point. Do you remember the first episode of Yami 1 where we just kept cutting from scenes to scene without any apparent spatial or temporal linkage.

pretty sure he came to that conclusion by seeing it for what it is

Where in the hell did I say those characters were somehow the best in all of anime. I want to know how the fuck he got that from what I said.

Sounds like you wanted all drama.
Not true, i enjoyed episode 3! (or at least the execution of it). I actually enjoyed most of haniro with the exception of most of the second cour.:(
back to arguing about which waifu is best?

at least its not as bad as Lafiel telling me that Tiger and Bunny sucks and that its simply sunrise selling out
I never said this, stop making up shit!

Are you forgetting like, the first half of Hansaku Iroha? You know, the one that had like, the first episode in it?
I'm sorry the overwhelming badness of the second half of iroha is making me forget it.:( regardless i was actually specifically referring to the second half of iroha.:P

Angry much?

You replied to a "Quanity vs Quality" post with a list of Idolmaster characters that somehow apparently proves your point despite them being terrible characters. I was saying that by that logic, giving out a list of characters automatically will make them better than the "other" show.

Maybe I shouldn't have used Cowboy Bebop and used K-On but I decided to go for the absurd and chose that.

There were only 2 actual bad episodes, the other 2 were Idolmaster quality.

2 + 2 = 4?

Also Tiger and Bunny sucks but it has nothing to do with Sunrise selling out. If you want a show that really sucked for it's second cour it's T&B and not HanaIro.

Im@s is awful. It's so bad that it's been the second best show involving the use of idols this season.
If you're putting Uta Pri over IM@S, you really, really need to think about it again.

WELCOME to Rock'n'Roll Niiiiiiight

So you're attempting to make a point by over-exaggerating the badness of those four episodes on at the start of the second half? The show hasn't been as shit as that for awhile now.

Hey, and it's not like IM@S haters aren't over-exaggerating the badness of episode 2 & 3, especially considering the show has been all quality episodes since then!

Fact that its even being compared to Idolmaster, speaks for part two's quality. One horrible arc, with 3 dull ones following it.

If the first episode was bad i dont even want to see 2 and 3!

I'm not sure its possible to exaggerate the hate I have for Yukiho. It got so bad that I watched that episode, then HanaIro and thought "wow, Nako is such bullshit. Stop it with the shy schtick."

I'm angry because people started putting words in my mouth.

I was comparing to that other show he was talking about, clearly there was some joking in my post: I don't think any of the characters are amazing. The show isn't about some ground breaking story with immense character development worthy of winning awards. Your comparison is completely ridiculous no matter what show you would have chosen.

At least HanaIro won't run for 7 more years!

Yeah, yeah it was. I regret going to that Planet.

Still better than Redline!
Maybe if they stretched Redline into two seasons of nothing.

Responding to a criticism by attacking other people who criticise a different show for other reasons is not a valid response!

I want to hear the reasoning behind this one.

The Nako episode was actually good, though. In fact it was like a night and day example of how to do an episode about a shy girl versus how not to.

The Idolm@ster 6

Look at how well produced but bland this is! That producer, he's so generically try-hard-but-incompetent.

But I was told that writing in anime didn't matter.

Hmm, actually, I suppose it's possible the creators of Idolmaster share that belief, which would explain quite a bit.

It really was. That Nako episode and the Minchi episode with the omurice were quality episodes that could stand up to anything from the first cour.

The Yuina and Enishi episodes were indeed bad but not even close to the Yukiho Idolmaster episode.

Also I realize that Idolmaster is a harem game at its core but the generic harem anime-like resolution of that episode made me want to puke my guts out. I'd have slapped Yukiho and told her to be professional rather than do whatever it is that producer did.

Idolmaster would be awesome if the Producer was like a stereotypical abusive Japanese father figure. Like imagine if they replaced him with Gendo.

I really don't see what you mean. Even skipping all the action scenes, it would still be entertaining.
Like I said, I don't really get anything out of 2d tits and the rest is awkwardly written sports cliche and science fiction mumbo jumbo that would make the Halo/Gears of War/Mass Effect creative teams proud.

This is anime. You can't even be close to your family members without being sexually attracted to them.

I don't care what shit you people and all those motherfuckers at pixiv are thinking, but I see only a bromance.
