Usagi Drop Ep.8
At first I hated
the inclusion of Rin's mom. She to contribute nothing to the episodes, but now I am liking what she brings. Rin makes all other kids seem worthless in comparison.

Rape Drum 7
I lol'd when Shouma said that Tabuki was probably looking for fap material when he's alone and what Ringo imagines Yuri does was so Fabulous Max.
Look like Shouma is going to give the psycho a good dicking, all for Himari of course.

Azusamaster 8
One episode featuring three of my favorite girls, with my favorite being the star? Yes all over my face, it was delicious. Best episode yet, there is nobody who Azusa can't charm. Makoto needs to be the star of the next Bourne film. Next week is a twins centered episode with that annoying forehead girl again. Ew.

Mayo Chiki 07

I've accepted the terrible awesomeness of this series, and was rewarded with relaxing nothingness other than the fact that everyone got transplanted to the beach for no particular reason and trollgod-sama was trollgod-sama. Good times!

Well shit, I was just about to post that. Guess I need to start waking up earlier.
They should have gone with a Meduka face for the poster, in my opinion.

Oh well, time for the godstomping to begin.

Also, fall 2012, huh?

Er are you not going to provide us with results from yesterday? :(

It's almost ironic. Last week I mentioned that I felt as if the pacing has been sporadic at best. This week? Well, it goes ahead and 'patches' that right up--though too much. Comedy was the focus, but the episodes past have proven that they can weave the comedy into the narrative a bit better than they did in this ep, and that it really didn't at all need an ep to itself. As it was, it came across a tad bit self indulgent, and notably empty--in terms of anything being unveiled or expanded upon.
Why do you have to say crazy stuff? I wouldn't say comedy is the focus of this episode at all.

I don't understand the censorship, it's okay as long as they're not human?
That's quite common in all forms of censorship, actually. You can viciously murder aliens and whatever all the time without getting a higher film age rating, for example.

Fabulous Max and completely insane. I had the theory that
what's written in the diary was actually true, but for Ringo and Shouma.
And it happened again in episode 6. Episode 8 should put an end to those speculations it seems.
Oh, that does make a lot of sense. Huh.

They're going to try and flip that shit on you in the next episode, and you'll find out that they actually showed up at the beach for a very serious reason.

Not even joking.

I don't understand the censorship, it's okay as long as they're not human? That said a human got impaled this ep uncensored.

Rather bland episode, don't understand the use of trails in the action scenes either, Saya was basically just tanking the attacks not really moving fast or anything like that, and samurai stag beetle was just using big bulky attacks, if the trails were used to display raw strength it didn't get conveyed all that well.
Apparently only the fairer sex getting impales is unsavory for TV audiences.

Yeah the fight animation in this one was awkward and not that good.

I thought that was obvious ever since the park episode.

What would you say it was then? Yeah, we were given insight into
the marriage planning, maternity thoughts, Yuri being much more than she lets on--in more ways than one, and the idea that bitchy ms.richie is in fact behind the money-lending, but hardly were they the focus of this ep--and almost minuscule in comparison to Ringo's super stalking antics. Which were, once again, at the forefront and nothing new.

How was it not obvious since the park episode?

Ringo basically drowns and nobody cares, but is saved by her destined one. She checks it off even though it was the wrong person.

I still don't think it's going to happen though. Shouma doesn't deserve that kind of good luck.

Ringo doesn't deserve to walk the streets, let alone get with the pushover. Unless of course she starts 'street-walking' which, on the other hand, would fit her nature quite nicely.

Mawaru Penguindrum 07

Ikuhara certainly didn't waste any time visualizing that "killer whale" metaphor. They're natural enemies of penguins...significant?

The masculine Takurazuka actor is played by Paku Romi, I believe.

"Cool story, bro."

Every week I'm convinced that Ringo has gotten as crazy as she possibly can, only to top herself the week after.

The dude is
getting blackmailed by some otherworldly lifeform using his sister's life as collateral into following every whim of some crazy obsessed insane stalker. If anyone in this show deserves good luck, it's Shouma!

Naturally, he won't get it

I love Ringo. She's the star of the show and by far the most interesting character thus far. She's too good for the likes of Shouma.

That doesn't really answer my earlier point about the episode not being focused on comedy. Anyhoo.

I don't think I even understand the concept of what you want the show to be vs. what it is. Like, what's wrong with gradual but consistent character growth over a small series of episodes where Ringo is quite literally the protagonist? I am not attempting to belittle your opinion, because that would be inherently dumb, but I am fairly curious.

It's actually pretty rare for a work to set up ideas, use them, and then follow through with them in a considered manner. For example, Yuri first appearing in posters, then in person and finally in her actual staring role and beyond - all the events are neatly linked and carefully considered from a story telling perspective.

Another example would be Ringo herself. Most shows, would take the concept of a
crazy stalker
and then literally go nowhere with it. Or at least, nowhere interesting - perhaps she'd learn the error in her ways, or perhaps she'd stay static. Yet here Ikuhara introduced her, showed her doing some extreme things, fleshed out her back story and then continually sought to top himself in regards to the length that she goes to achieve her aims. It's pretty great.

Furthermore you can't really say "well a bunch of stuff happened in this episode, but it mainly focused on Ringo but nothing was new with her". To return to my original point, I have no idea what you want. Ringo has continued to develop in-line with what we already know about her character. It's pretty reductionist to scale her character down to one who engages in
stalker antics
as if that's all what was going on. Furthermore I don't know what this "new" thing would be, apart from performing random, out of character actions? I would rather see characters acting and behaving in ways that have already been established.

Also it's pretty hilarious that this:

Came true.

Finally pulled myself away from Deus Ex to watch Pengi's

Penguin Drum 7
Best show continues to be best. Seeing Ringo act crazy continues to be awesome.

Mawaru Penguindrum 7:
Fabulous show is fabulous. This episode had so much going for it, from tons of hilarious moments to further development for Ringo (and great interactions between her and Shouma). I never really imagined that they would be taking the stalking this far in the show, but I'm glad they are. Ringo is a fantastic character, and I love seeing what she'll do each week.

Penguin-Fabulous Max-Drum Ep.7

So maternity is what the M stands for... that means RAPE TIME!

The musical number was awesomely bad, and Ringo's reaction to the marriage announcement was great. A fun episode overall, with the exception of the ending

Sorry about this...

I'm not sure if Yuri is a bitch, or if Ringo is an unreliable narrator.
Why can't it be both?

(I'm pretty sure it's both, myself. Based on everything we've learnt so far.)

I suppose that could be true.
I still think Ringo is going to die or be maimed. Which is sad, she's the best character by far.

Also, Shouma has the patience of a saint. If she doesn't die, they'll hook up.

I personally hope Shouma is the one to do it. For Himari of course.

My stock response is that this is anime so it'll just be some misunderstanding or something but with this show I really don't know.

Knowing Shoumas personality it seems much more likely that he is the one to take a bullet for Ringo instead of putting one in her. He will miraculously survive and then the two hook up and have a million kids.

Great episode.

Love how they implemented the use of the Penguins arch nemesis. Damn Killer Whales.

Cant wait for next weeks!

IM@S Ep.8

First of all Ep.8>>>>Ep.7
due to no Iori in this one

Makoto has some insane action chops; she should fight more often. But the real star was Azusa.
Azusa's accomplishments:
  • Helps old lady get to her son
  • Feeds small children and helps them find mother
  • Brings business to bun shop
  • Inspires painter
  • Attracts pussy cats
  • Stops crying baby
  • Revitalizes circus animals
  • Helps Divination man
  • Reunites couple (Even if bride was a vain bitch)
  • Awesome photo shoot

Sucks that the ED song was beyond horrible.
