You save a lot more time by opening an individual tab for each image before saving them than by opening a link, saving the image, going back to the previous page and repeating the process every time you see something cool.
Aren't there browser add-ons/extensions that can make this a lot faster?

Loved Kiki. My first was Mononoke, and yes, it is my favorite (though Laputa and Porco Rosso are close).

In order of watching: Mononoke, Spirited Away, Laputa, Totoro, Nausica.

I still need to see quite a few films...

For Pixiv browsing, I use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ank-pixiv-tool/

It saves images to a folder of your choosing by clicking them. Saves a lot of time. If you don't have firefox I think there's a bunch of greasemonkey scripts that are similar.

As for uh, anime, I've started watching Angel Beats. It's..okay, I guess. It's been a while since I've really watched anime so I'm having to get used to it again. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for an anime I might like? I'm pretty open to anything as long as it doesn't have fan service. (So that leaves me watching repeats of Haibane Renmei over and over again.)

Madoka.

Captivating, poignant, to the point, and doesn't wear out it's welcome. My .02 anyways.

Depends on what site you're on. For 4chan that fastest method is to just Alt-Click the thumbnail.

there!

Yeah I gotta watch GitS again now that I am a True Fan. I'm sure I'd love it or at least appreciate it much more. You wonder who the hell Oshii puts in all of these connected motifs from his most obscure to most popular work for - himself, I guess.

The Sky Crawlers was proof that as Mamoru Oshii's insanity continued to advance, by the end he was making movies entirely for his own self-serving interest.

I'm thinking about starting a re-watch of Simoun sometime soonish, depending on how long it takes for me to finish Deus Ex: Human Revolution. You feeling ready to re-watch it yet?

Would you believe that the movie contains a discussion of dreams?

Bureiburitorutōsutā

I had no previous attachment to this and as such I found it to be boring for the most part save for some choice scenes. It deals with some rather dark themes I suppose and I wouldn't really show this to a kid but that's mostly because there's better stuff out there.

You had a horrible childhood.

Angel Beats is pretty bad. Haibane Renmei is great, and there's also been a decent number of great shows and movies in recent years:

I can't believe this thread will cross 20k today. Anime GAF has gotten ridiculously huge.
It's either that, or some people just post far too much, given the impression that Anime GAF is larger than it is.

Not today. By the end of the month, sure, but not enough goes on during a regular Tuesday to push 400 posts.
Unless someone starts another inane K-On argument again or something.

K-ON IS THE VOICE OF OUR GENERATION (fuck Strike Witches)

I'm starting the countdown to 20k posts and thread closed...NOW!

The more noticeable achievement here is that this thing happens every season in a new thread!

Some uh, interesting stuff Urobuchi said:

Madoka Spoilers:
Asahi: Madoka Magica is an original story. Where did the idea come from?

Urobuchi: I received a request to write a bloody story where magical girls appear, and then drop out one by one. I paid attention to the aspects that are troubling or overlooked in the traditional magical girl genre. I've been thinking that magical girls who have acquired superhuman abilities will find themselves removed from the world, which would cause contradictions and reactions.

Asahi: Magical girls, who are full of hope and who strive to save the people, soon suffer from hatred and jealousy, which turn them into the enemy witches. The change from good to evil left an emotional impact.

Urobuchi: For example, Al-Qaeda brought down the Twin Towers due to their own righteousness. Justice for some people is an evil for others. Good intensions, kindness, and hope will not necessarily make people happy.

Okay there Butch.

That probably wasn't a very smart thing to say. I doubt anybody in his primary audience will both care and notice, though.

The ambiguity of your statement is strangely alluring.

Assuming it was directed towards me, of course.

I believe he was talking about the Madoka thing, which admittedly is a bit of an odd statement to make.

The Wall of Shame:

Jexhius 1,071
cajunator 940
Branduil 704
Unknown Soldier 660
Dresden 553
Izayoi 551
firehawk12 538
tiff 526
Jintor 514
Steroyd 504

I'm keeping my eye on Dresden, Izayoi, firehawk, and tiff. They're all kind of hanging around near each other and any one of them could take 5th place before the thread closes!

What I'd like to know is
who would make that kind of request?

Something about those eyes makes me not want to watch the show at all.

They're so large and piercing and empty. Freaks me out everytime I see this stupid picture!
Which makes them quite appropriate to the character, I can assure you.

You really shouldn't let that put you off of the show, it's quite entertaining.

Isn't it too early to make a fall thread? It's still a month and then some away. Everybody should stop posting now so it doesn't feel as awkward :(

Jexhius I think...? Maybe. I dunno one of the monocles. :P

We just go to a second thread until its time for the next one.
