Top-tier - Idolm@ster, Penguin drum. Mid-tier - Bunny drop, Hanasaku iroha (i enjoyed the last few episodes well enough to not put this on low!) CLAMP-tier - Blood-C Low-tier - Sacred seven
On the topic of Official Threads, I was thinking why FnordChan doesn't even posts in the latest ones. I know that it has been assembled some kind of... unique sub-community here, slightly different (read that as more populated and frenetic, I like it) to what it was back then, but I would like to see that kind of opinion (even when not related to recent shows, for example) from time to time, at least.
Changing now of subject, the CONAN, THE BOY IN FUTURE Blu-ray MEMORIAL BOX is shaping up nicely (http://product.bandaivisual.co.jp/web_service/shop_product_info.asp?item_no=BCXA-0378). Illustration of Kazuhide Tomonaga, by the way. An apparently laborious 'Telecine' scan or TK from 35mm film was made expressly for the authoring of this edition, although the price is in the (expensive) line of the other Bandai Visual's (HONNEAMISE) MEMORIAL BOX releases.
I wonder how much is going to cost the similar one for Heidi, Girl of the Alps, if they make it available in only one box...
Okay, what is happening here? One or two weeks ago, we had agreed that Usagi Drop was the second coming of Jesus, and now it´s considered "mid-tier"? And the fun, but often times too crazy Penguin is king of the season?! Not to speak of all the people completely omitting Kaiji S2 :/

Most people are specifically talking about Summer shows, not shows that carried over from Spring. As for Usagi Drop, I don't think anyone has necessarily soured on it(If they have I'm not sure why they would?). The show itself has been very solid throughout, but given the nature of the show I think it would be very difficult for it to aspire to the heights that something like Penguin Drum can reach.
1. THE IDOLM@SUTAH (tie)
1. Usagi Drop (tie)
3. Hurrdurr-Pinguindrum
I've stalled on every other show I started this season. I will finish CLAMP-B, Kamidolls, and Sacred Seven only if they turn out good at the end. Holding off on Ninja Tits until uncensored. Thinking about starting Loli Basketball and Mayo Chiki.
What do you have against women playing basketball?

Mayo Chiki 8 - Pink hair manages to drag down even Suzutsuki...
I also found the part where Jirou goes after Subaru kind of annoying, why does he immediately chase after her after hearing that she was off somewhere and didn't want him to follow? That's not nice, even if it sort of worked out okay. The fight at the end was kind of grating too. I liked the ending bit, and glasses catgirl
stripping people
was entertaining (though how exactly did his sister lose to her so easily? Hard to believe...), but it could have been better for sure.
Suzutsuki taking out everyone was good stuff though, too bad they didn't show any of it. It was entertaining how Jirou was trying to be cool and win, only to be denied by Suzutsuki.
Oh, that ending... yeah, we'll see if anything happens from it, but I'd be surprised, given the genre.
As for the episode as a whole, it was okay. Some parts were good, others not so much... it wasn't great, just okay. This episode tries to have both some harem comedy and some drama as well, but the problem is that this just isn't a very good drama series. That doesn't mean I want more harem antics, as I've said before I don't want that either. I mean, bad drama, not too good harem comedy... what IS it good at then? So yeah, there definitely are other shows this season I find more entertaining than this one. On that note, no, my opinion that R-15 is better than Mayo Chiki has not changed. Heck, even though they are definitely worse shows, even Bakatest 2 and Twin Angel are more fun to watch than Mayo Chiki now is, probably. At least those two (and R-15 as well) don't try, and fail, to be serious, like Mayo Chiki is doing now. They're just stupid comedies and know it. Mayo Chiki can be pretty funny when it wants to be though, it's too bad it didn't keep up being as good as it started out being.
This is true though, though it's probably an understatement.
and there's also been a decent number of great shows and movies in recent years:
Monster
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Baccano!
Dennou Coil
The Place Promised in Our Early Days
Time of Eve movie
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru
The Borrower Arrietty
Ponyo
Sword of the Stranger
The Tatami Galaxy
5cm Per Second
Colorful
Many of those are good things to at least try, probably, sure.

Some uh, interesting stuff Urobuchi said:
Madoka Spoilers:
Asahi: Madoka Magica is an original story. Where did the idea come from?
Urobuchi: I received a request to write a bloody story where magical girls appear, and then drop out one by one. I paid attention to the aspects that are troubling or overlooked in the traditional magical girl genre. I've been thinking that magical girls who have acquired superhuman abilities will find themselves removed from the world, which would cause contradictions and reactions.
Asahi: Magical girls, who are full of hope and who strive to save the people, soon suffer from hatred and jealousy, which turn them into the enemy witches. The change from good to evil left an emotional impact.
Urobuchi: For example, Al-Qaeda brought down the Twin Towers due to their own righteousness. Justice for some people is an evil for others. Good intensions, kindness, and hope will not necessarily make people happy.
Magical girls are like Al-Quaeda? I didn't think I'd ever hear that comparison... it kind of makes sense as he explains it, but still... I don't know. I mean, Al Quaeda actually thinks that the things they are doing are good. Do Madoka witches?

Mayo Chiki 07
I've accepted the terrible awesomeness of this series, and was rewarded with relaxing nothingness other than the fact that everyone got transplanted to the beach for no particular reason and trollgod-sama was trollgod-sama. Good times!
If only the rest of the show could live up to Suzutsuki's level of awesomeness... but sadly, it doesn't quite. She is awesome when she's in good form, though, that's absolutely true.

Mayo Chiki 7 & 8
I love this show. To this day the only genuinely funny harem show I've ever seen, really. I don't know why, but it manages to have completely oblivious characters without annoying me. Helps that the main protagonists aren't stupid and lampshade it quite a bit. It's also nice to be once again reminded that, no matter how sadistic and twisted Kanade seems, she's actually a really nice girl - "chaotic good", so to speak.
Chaotic good? Sometimes, sure, but sometimes she's got to be at least neutral something...

Mayo Chiki 08: Eri Kitamura's voice continues to be sex. By far the best part of the show. I would pursue pretty much any woman with a voice that hot, even if I did end up needing a paper bag or two.
Subaru actually got to be cute in this episode toward the end. The megane cow is starting to get on my nerves though. I really don't like her as a character, and she's just one too many for this little group. Subaru's father continues to be amusing, and I finally remember where I've heard that voice before (Keroro Gunsou).
Bah, she was kind of amusing. I mean, as I said before I do think the show would be better without any of the secondary harem (that is, if the show was just about Subaru, Suzutsuki, and Jirou, pretty much), but at least the catgirl is far better than tsundere pink hair...
So we've done bikinis (twice), kimonos, and next week's maid outfits. I wonder if next week will continue where this one left off, or if that little conversation will be promptly shoved into the background like so many other harem shows. Ah well, on to iDOLM@STER.
I'd say about half. There are a lot of bad shows this season.
It's about a guy who had loved basketball all his life and had it snatched away from him because his
captain was a pedo
. Basically takes the actions of both his family and the basketball skills from a little girl to remind him why he loves the game and nobody can take it away from him. It's a bit cruel that he's
walking down the same path that led to his misery in the first place
.
It's about a girl who had loved basketball for all her life as well, but quit playing it because of the pain it caused others. She was too good at the game, which caused contempt from both those who played against her and those who played with her. Now she's striking the balance between loving her time with her friends and her love for competition in the game of basketball.
It's a fun show with better characters and a better storythan a bunch of other shows this season.
I don't think it's a great show or anything. But for loli basketball and pedobait material it's pretty decent. The stuff the anime hasn't covered gets pretty serious in content, I doubt the anime does any of that though.

You know, for being a guy who dresses like a girl, Nitori is the biggest pimp ever. Was together with the one girl of his group, another girl of the group loves him, and now he´s dating a model friend of his older sister. lol
The one thing I really don´t like about this series is how strangly/weirdly shy/introvert, yet confident most of the characters are. I just comes off as unrealistic.
But good anime, nonetheless.

I find it insulting that Sennorin in his troll posts make it seem like True Tears is equivalent to the Key stuff.
Huh? I´m not an expert on "Key stuff", but I don´t see how Clannad is of worse quality than True Tears. The latter took itself more serious, while the former had a broader, enjoyable cast. Wouldn´t want to choose between the two (now if there was a spinoff starring Sunohara, *that* would be the clear winner!)
