Looks awesome. Properly awesome. As I expected.

And seriously this is a very pretty game. Some lovely lighting effects most notably.
 
Holy shit Nintendo! This looks incredible. Definitely my most anticipated title this holiday! Nintendo I never doubted you for a sec... That's a lie'
 
Wow if this looks this amazing then just think of how good the REAL 3D Mario will be!!!!

Well, ok, maybe it's better, but it's still a far cry from the absolutely magnificient compositions in the Galaxy games. That's some of the best video game music ever.

Exactly. Some of the levels in SM3DW easily looked bigger than anything in SM64. I'd even argue the "desert pyramid" level in SM3DL is about the same size as an average SM64 level.

On a console that has an install base of 100 million, Galaxy should have sold way more. The 11 mil that SM64 sold was about half the N64s installed base.

this is a pretty silly argument. mario 64's sales aren't a referendum on linearity vs open world, they're a product of it being a singular, groundbreaking moment in console gaming history.
 
Looks absolutely fantastic. I'll be honest, even when a Mario platformer is at its 'poorest' I still have tons of fun with them. One of my favourite series.

It'll be fun playing this with my 3 year old nephew, he absolutely adores Mario. I saw a Big Boo in that trailer as well which he'll go nuts for. He just looooves those big ghosts.

to be fair, sm64 was one of the first true 3d games, so many people bought it just because of that, galaxy was amazing but sm64 was a revolution graphics and controlling a charecter in 3d space
 
Looks so good, but I just don't like platformers anymore. But I am glad it looks like it'll be a pretty good system seller. The more Wii-U's in the world the better.

That's just crazy talk by people. It's one thing to have been done on the game based on what they showed and feel it was providing an experience you didn't want. I got more of a NSMB vibe and that was something I was tired of. I didn't get that from this new trailer. However I still thought it would be a great game in the end even if it was one I took a pass on. To say that it would be a horrible game is just stupid talk.

This trailer made me feel so much more positive on the experience the game is going to deliver.
 
While I never talked bad about this game, the E3 reveal left me going "ugh, that's it?"

I can honestly say this looks absolutely amazing, so many new features implemented and it looks great graphically. Cannot wait for this, is there a release date?
 
Looks amazing!!! I'm not sure why people are so surprised, though. Of course there was going to be variety!

One thing I can't get over is the run button, though. Why :(

The original statement was that no 3D Mario game ever outsold SM64. That's wrong. I didn't want to imply anything else.

On Topic: Game looks just gorgeous. The trailer made me to finally pre-order it, hopefully it's end of November soon ;_;
