Mewtwo is ok.
All this confirmed is that I'm certainly going to be holding back from buying any smash dlc for the price they're offering though. Unless something big happens (ridley joke here) I don't see me getting enough use out of a single smash character to justify £4.49.
The excellent DLC pricing on MK8/HW/NSLU has spoiled me.

Yeah I guess so but I was secretly hoping he'd get even better since 99% of people thought he was bad so Sakurai might have taken that into consideration and buffed him.

Anyone else still waiting for the Mewtwo email? I got locked out of my email that I originally used so I had to change it to a new email address, but I forgot to do it until 4 days before the deadline, so I am afraid it went to my other email address anyways despite it being my new email address in my club Nintendo profile. I'd hate to have to wait and buy him.....

Did your game update? That's what happened to me. It applied the Mewtwo DLC and let me launch the game without the update.
Try going into online mode to see if it prompts you for the update.
Not gonna lie, the character select screen jumble actually bothers me a lot lol. I wanted the clones with the rest of their series all along, now we have Mewtwo down with the 3rd party guys AND Link-Zelda Kirby-DDD separated by a row. OH THE HUMANITY!!!!
Mewtwo seems fun. I didn't use him in Melee at all (and I more or less stopped playing Melee when Brawl came out...filthy casual) but I'm definitely enjoying giving him a spin right now.

I think the Character Select screen should have just put the characters next to their respective franchises. In the case of Mewtwo and Lucas instead of shoving them to that bottom row just put Mewtwo next to the other Pokemon and Lucas next to Ness and just have a little thing that says "new" on it so they stand out until you hover over or select them.

The ranbats start on Sunday. You'll have 1 week to play any of your opponents in your bracket (and you can play more than one/even finish your bracket in your first week if you want), contacting your opponent(s) in the thread or directly PMing them.

Mewtwo isn't a fatty. He's light.
The ping-pong in the final area will still kill me. :-(
Samus is solid. I don't think she's nearly as bad as people think. She's like Charizard like that.
Bowser is, by most lists, considered a C Tier character. He isn't good. Ganondorf also needs help, but don't disparage one character for getting help just because another didn't. Be glad when any character becomes more viable.
Ganondorf did get some buffs:
I've never thought Charizard was bad. It's just the Flare Blitz spammers that make people think so.
Falcon is very fair. I can't think of anything they should change on him in the current meta.
Every week, you choose 1 opponent in your bracket to play. You can choose anyone. At the end of the season, you must have played everyone. I will put brackets out on Friday, most likely.

Good to see Greninja got some buffs at least, but I really would love Hydro Pump to have more pushback like it once did. Had so much fun KO'in people with that move, or just pushing them around in the neutral game.

Wow, I'm loving that Sonic's Homing Attack doesn't lock onto projectiles and stuff like Olimar's Pikmin and Rosalina's Luma anymore. Will help in those matchups.

Mewtwo's pretty fun. The CSS is driving my OCD bonkers though, holy crap.
Anybody else just completely unable to access the Smash in-game shop? Like, I get error 001-502 every single time. I've turned my wifi off and on, I've unplugged and replugged the router, it's been several hours, I'm at a complete loss as to what to do here. I can access the eShop and use the internet but this function's just dead.
Ganon did get buffs, why are people complaining about Bowser getting (much needed) buffs?
Also, I am not sure I understand the complaints about this patch. This sort of minor patching is better than breaking the shit out of characters by overbuffing them. They nerfed the hoo-haa and all of its follow-ups (Diddy is still good, but he's not SSSS anymore).
I hope the Luma nerf is valid, also Greninja has even more speed and kill power it seems.

Man... What is UP with he character select screen? What is the endgame, here? Throw Lucas after Mewtwo and have it all messed up forever?
Played four games. Now I remember why I don't play often; Nintendo's lack of Ethernet port built-in. I don't play enough to spend $10+ on an Ethernet adapter so I end up with unfun, delayed messes. Maybe there's a correlation there, but I don't remember it with the 3DS version (which, for some reason, was a smoother experience than the Wii U which sits by the router).
But now I've gone and used the Mewtwo Wii U code so I feel obligated to play more than ten minutes. >_>

Sakurai probably has no idea how many DLC characters he is going to make and is just throwing them into their own spot in the meantime.
I think people are more upset that characters that desperately needed buffs (Marth/Lucina, Samus, etc) didn't really get them.
Checking Smashboards and I tested out Shulk this morning (he's my main), he's exactly the same AFAIK.

If by the time he is done with DLC development he does not rearrange the CSS, then I'll be upset. For now it's just a minor annoyance.
