The hair in the original is crazy CG-ish with the detail. The clothing is silky smooth and round with bump-mapping and stuff in the original. Plus the awesome snow effects.
There is a huge difference between the two, but the new one still looks good compared to other games. The original just looked CG and we're still not at that point yet. Maybe next-gen.

Clothing is "silky smooth"? Yes, I also mentioned the IQ in my post. Bump-mapping and stuff? Texture-wise, Dante's coat still looks excellent, just look at some HD media from a better-lighted area such as the chapel.
Missing snow effects? Yes, hopefully that gets implemented.
On the other hand, you have more fine texture background detail in the new pic. I think the main difference is the more subdued colours in the final look of DMC4.
Alastor for the win, I hope it's in.

On the contrary the game looks gorgeous-fabulous!

For the 1st wave of X360 titles and 1st wave of PS3 titles, all we got were lies, lies, lies with CG videos being shown attempting to fool people into thinking the games will look like that.
That's the number one reason people like Jett and others have been disappointed with the current-gen visuals. These CGs set everyone's expectations high as to what "next-gen" would look like, when in reality they were all closer to PS4/X720-gen or even the gen after that :\
I expect RE5 to look like Lost Planet with the enemy counts of Dead Rising and the camera zoomed a bit more in to make everything look larger.

That is my absolute favorite shot out of the new screens, the lowered camera angle giving the boss an even more powerful appearance but the subtle, cool, composed and carefree way Dante is strolling up to him just exudes power and confidence.
Badass mother****er.
DMC4 Dante is to Nero what DMC1 Dante is to DMC3 Dante.

I recall the Killzone trailer that looked incredible back in 2005, was CG afterall. Or Tekken 6. As you said , those CG set an unsubstantiated/unfeasible/unreachable graphical benchmark for the next-gen consolesn and subsequently/eventually the bitter reality dissapointed the gamers.......
But in the midst of all that, we'weren't deceived by some games--> for instance the Dead Rising trailer back in 2005. The trailer was presenting the real thing.

This is sort of off-topic but....
Two things I hope:
I REALLY hope MGS4 gets ported to 360 so I can decide to get one for that and DMC. I'm poor and it'd be cheaper.
They put an easy mode in DMC4. I beat the first one on easy (and got pretty far on normal), I skipped the 2nd one after a rental left a bad taste in my mouth, but DMC3 just RAPED ME. RAPED! I was stuck on the same level forever. Then they release the special edition and I was sort of turned off of it. I'll go back someday.
Anyways ya, this game looks totally awesome I can't wait until I get enough money for an HD console.

I read alot of this but i couldn't find anything on which one would be the superior version of DMC4, (PS3 or X360). Have there even been any 360 screenshots or videos released. Does anyone know if the PS3 will have noticeably better graphics or will it follow the path of most other multiplatform games and look better on the 360.
I truly don't want this to come off as a troll, even though it will. But is there a general consensus yet as to which version to buy, or is it still too early to tell?

Same here. That's it every multi-platform game i buy will be ps3 only. DMC4 and ninja gaiden sigma on one system awesome. I don't even want to think about god of war 3 right now or i will explode.

Considering Dante is about 40 and Nero is about 20, it wouldn't suprise me if Nero is Dante's son.
