It seems that gone are the days of Sony delivering high quality smaller games like Resogun. They are either ignoring this smaller piece of the pie or (like in this case) don't put too much effort.

If they were serious about bringing a superb 2b GoW game they'd hire the devs from the studio behind PoP Lost Crown. Or maybe sign a deal with the Ori / No Rest for the Wicked studio. Or have Housemarque develop this as a second smaller project. There's quite a few studios with solid experience in bringing well received 2d platformers & metroidvanias.

What is it with some YouTubers and their video thumbnails? I get that they want people to watch but is it really necessary to have facial expressions equivalent to that of having your scrotum hair's scalded with a Bunsen burner?

Jaffe criticises certain things as obnoxious yet if you look at his list of videos it screams obnoxious, not just the thumbnails but some of the video titles as well. They scream "look at me please, watch, PLEASE"

God of War Sons of Sparta Receives Harsh Comments from OG Creator

The original creator of God of War has shared harsh criticism for the recently released Sons of Sparta. Here are more details.

The first time was after playing the game for just an hour, where he ended up saying things like "this is not God of War", "who the f**k greenlit this", and "who thought this is what the audience wants". Jaffe also went on to say that the "production quality is not very good," comparing it to games like Ninja Gaiden, Ragebound, and Neon Inferno.

The series creator released a 32-minute video echoing the sentiments expressed in the previous video. In this new video, he critiques the gameplay using clips from the title. It's evident that the creator is dissatisfied with this installment, particularly because he feels that the character of Kratos, beloved by fans, is not accurately represented. Instead, players are presented with a different character.

Jaffe needs to save all his anger for when they butcher the fuck out of the original GoW trilogy remake and water it down for modern audiences. This is a side game that no one cares about, and not worth getting upset about.

Every time I see "Jaffe", I think about Jaffles, and that makes me hungry. Unacceptable state of affairs.

I just think the vast majority of people on YouTube (especially the negative minded ones) aren't worth a second's attention. I have zero thoughts on this game, as I haven't even watched the trailer yet. Jaffe is just hot air trying to capitalize on his past importance.

davidjaffe is right about GOW Ragnarok criticism. I don't know about the new game but he created this IP so I guess he has more right to express his opinions and criticisms about newest releases than most common folks. And fans of original GOW (2005) should pay some attention.

Not a fan of Jaffe, but given how low the meta is on this game I'll never find out how accurate or far off his opinions are on it. I think I'm better off waiting for a future installment and pretending this shovelware deviation doesn't exist.
