thanx in advance
Added your details to post#2212 sir.
With my old 3DS that I had scanned that same QR code, I never got Nikki either. However, she just showed up on my new 3DS in the Plaza.Has anyone figured out what the criteria is for having a SwapNote Mii show up in your Mii Plaza? People were talking about having Nikki show up in their Mii Plaza, but I never did. I do have a Nikki Mii in my Mii Maker which I scanned via QR, but it's a Japanese version which I think is fanmade.

I don't think it was fan-made. I think it was moved out of the Plaza into Mii Maker and then had a QR code made from it (which you can do if you are willing to move Nikki out of your Plaza.) Weird as that all is, I think that may have had something to do with Nikki not showing up in my Plaza.
You know, I think I scanned that one, and it replaced the Japanese Nikki? It probably had the same identifier or something.
Yeah, there was a comment saying that earlier in the thread, so I scanned the Japanese one back in first, then scanned that one, and sure enough the English one replaced the Japanese one.You know, I think I scanned that one, and it replaced the Japanese Nikki? Wi-fi is on and SpotPass is enabled in the settings in SwapNote, right?
I don't believe it ever says "message sent" or anything like that. At least, it never has for me, and my notes get sent out just fine. Maybe send a note asking someone to confirm receipt by replying?
They need to go online at some point, but you don't have to be online at the same time.Does the recipient need to be online for the note to be delivered? I don't think I remember that being the case before.
I'm pretty sure it used to say "message sent!"
thanx a ton
hrmm, yeah i'll try that. Could've sworn it gave a confirmation when sent. But maybe I was remembering things wrong. I did check a youtube video guide on sending notes and indeed it just said "saving for delivery"
My pleasure.
I just tested it. The messages only refer to saving the note. Even the most explicit one to do with sending it is that it is saving it for when you are next online to send it. I presume it functions by saving the note and then sending it when you are next online and in sleep mode or in another app that does not need online.
You're absolutely right. I finally managed to get one of the few IRL friends I have who owns a 3DS to test it to see if my messages were being received and sure enough...
Thanks for the help (rpmurphy, Zeer0id too)

Almost regardless, isn't it? I recall Ocarina 3D blocks StreetPass while running; doesn't it block SpotPass too? There are probably other cases. But typically yes it does run while you're doing other things.SpotPass uploads work the same as SpotPass downloads: it happens in the background regardless of the running app.

I think that was just a bug with Ocarina 3D, because it completely blocked your Wi-Fi connection -- you even got signed out from the Friend List. I don't believe that's supposed to happen with any 3DS game.
It's my belief it was less a bug and more a case of being released with early SDKs when juggling background tasks and the games were more complicated (remember how Ridge Racer had issues with the eShop-enabling update?) But that's only speculation on my part...I think that was just a bug with Ocarina 3D, because it completely blocked your Wi-Fi connection -- you even got signed out from the Friend List. Here, just did a quick search and found a video of it. I got it in North America, don't know if EU/JP got it.

I thought it was rather icky, and this is coming from a guy who fully supports and has recommended Art Academy both on its own and for use with Swapnote.Got a Mother's Day message, with mention of Art Academy...and the eShop button to go directly on its page on eShop. This is how to use the app to promote, Nintendo. Bravo.![]()
It made me sort of sad, actually. It brought up old memories of making something silly in Mario Paint and grabbing my mom to show her what I'd learned how to do. It's the kind of feelings that I haven't thought about in ten or more years, and this stupid little note from Nikki brought them to the surface again.
On a tangentially related note... I only have the IFD and Mother's Day stationary and was wondering if someone would be willing to help me acquire the rest?
I have all of them except the recent Mother's Day one so feel free to add me and I will send you the others
I thought the Art Academy stationary was the Mother's Day one, which I'm sure I sent to you.

Got the Blue Light of Joy, opened Swap Note and was immediately accosted by a "The note you were downloaded is corrupt and has been deleted!"
...well, THAT'S a new one.
Nope, didn't get anything. I wonder if maybe Swap Note flipped out because of the large influx of messages?
Got'em all! Woo and hoo, indeed! Thank you very much.
I'm open to forward these to anyone else who needs them as well!
How new is that Japanese Slime stationary that I seemed to have gotten?
Also Mr. Woo: Can you Add this code to the list?
