Re-note/re-swap (retweet) is easily the biggest omission for me so far; cool ones get discussed here and i'm out of the loop! plus, yours would get shared constantly.

A retweet/forward function, more ink per note, and the capability to reply back to a note you started would be more than enough to make me happy.

Great idea. It would be a useful way to share with a larger group and would give further proof of Nintendo's online improvements. It sounds like a swapnote update could be on the way in some form or other...

I guess that's the only way. Wouldn't be surprised if some people simply "lurked" swapnote. They enjoy receiving notes but are not confident enough to reply or sent their own.

If communities allowed the admin to control the member list then it could work. For something like this you wouldn't want random people joining a community. That would be a recipe for disaster.

Yeah Swapnote use is down, I do still enjoy getting my daily dose of art from you.

As for communities, would be interesting to see how they implement it. Based on Iwata's comment it seems like they plan to expand the functionality. I wonder if we will get swapnote v2.0 or whether there will be games like AC that allow us use swap notes or alternatively a little bit of both. The core apps gets updated and they integrate it with future games.

I think flipnote 3d will be free as well unless Nintendo is suddenly stingy and eager to boost profits.

"Lurking" in swapnote should be a criminal offense! If that is indeed the case.

I've never used FlipNote, but I also don't expect everything from that list to actually happen.

If they just took a handful and implemented them it would make SwapNote that much better, especially reswapping notes, more ink.

And I had previously added SwapNote Communites to that list, but after more thought, it would become a disaster zone or randoms spamming penises which is why I had come up with Subscriptions (which I apparently forgot to copy over to the list here... along with replying to replies of your own note) where people can subscribe and receive everything you throw out to the "All" list, but they won't be able to reply (directly back to your 3DS*) unless you've exchanged your friend codes. This way an unlimited amount of people can receive your messages (by choice) but you won't get spammed back by random unknowns.

It would also be really cool if Nintendo had a "submit to Nintendo" option where the best ones they receive get put up on Nintendo Video or randomly sent to every SwapNote connected 3DS out there.


*it would be nice to have some separate inbox for subscription replies. But it would probably just end up that subscribers can't reply, only friends can.

Some notes seems to take longer. I've sent messages to someone and never received a reply, or sent a group message and have someone reply 2 days later even when I have a good feel that they check their notes daily given their activity on sending notes to me daily.

Well humour is subjective so as long as you have fun it is a bonus if anyone else is amused .

Not that I am aware of. I believe you have to delete the whole note and start again :/. Hopefully someone will be able to correct me on this matter though. Hope you enjoy Swap Note .

pro-tip, running swap note outside internet/wifi range makes it run twice/thrice as fast.

Whatever message was pushed to your system before you left wifi range is already downloaded and it just loads up. zero loading screens /reading SD card screens.

I'm going to double check if there's an option to turning off auto-checking mailbox later. That could speed up performance, but I'm unsure if that will disable automatic mail downloads entirely.

So if you are at 3000 the app will automatically delete old ones in order to download new ones, BUT IF you want to reply you can't because you are at 3000 and you have to manually delete letters?

I was playing Super Mario 3D Land today and noticed I had a Toad House with a familiar Mii... which was odd, as I didn't have a new Streetpass nor had I gone online recently. In any event, I jumped into the Streetpass Mii Plaza and find a new Mii -- Nikki, from Swapnote.

Nikki appeared "six hours ago" by invitation, which was just about when I received a time-locked Swapnote message from an unknown sender.

I assume Nikki arrived with the message -- if you have 'Special Messages' enabled in Swapnote and 'Invite Mii' in the Plaza, I assume you'll be making a new friend too. Does anyone else have Nikki visiting?

I have two time locked notes too. I had naturally assumed that they were Valentine's Day notes from admirers in my friend list. So I find this speculation that it is from Nikki disconcerting. I think I shall continue to believe my other theory until proven otherwise!

Anyone had any trouble with the attach photo not letting you pick from photos you may want?

The last photo I can attach is artwalknoon's Zelda drawing, that I saved from within Swapnote. I have since made several QR shots and saved a photo from Freakyforms, and tried some other things, but nothing else shows up in the Swapnote photo picker.

I really wanted to send out my latest Freakyform
