Swapple PS4 face plates announced

I'd just like a plain, black one to replace the stock one that Sony scratched to hell when I sent it in for repairs.

LOL!

I'd like to swapple to a Bloodbarn faceplate as well.

More seriously: I think the plastic on the PS4 already looks cheap. I don't think I want cheap looking pictures on that.

I want something awesome Rockstar related. I'd get a Yakuza one too, it'd be nice to have a bit of a personal touch to it!

As much as I'd like a custom one, I know the websites that produce them are gonna be priced steep. Hopefully there's an official one that's not attached to one game or brand and has a simplistic design.

I wouldn't mind a Persona 5 faceplate either with the Dark Red color. I'm kinda excited for these faceplates now. My stock one is all scratched to shit so it's pretty ugly.

Not really keen on these, there a decent start I suppose but they'd work better if they didn't just look like a sticker.
Quick. Someone do some shopped PS4's with different faceplat covers.
Just a quick one as it's nearly 4am and I'm off to bed.

This is a blessing; I bought my PS4 refurbished and while everything else is in A+ condition the glossy bit has a lot of scuffs.

That's nice. I liked how you could swap the front plate on the original Xbox 360. Hopefully it'll be well supported and we'll see some cool designs.

I can't wait to swapple all over the place.

...I guess these would be much more interesting if I didn't nab that 20th anniversary PS4.

Hopefully they have a plain non-limited matte one so people can have their gloss-free consoles.

I doubt these gain any traction in the market. Have we forgot last gen?

Except these 'faceplates' already have functionality outside of purely being cosmetic. Sony doesn't have to worry about pushing them or not. The fact they can be used for customization is a bonus.

Uhhh, did I miss something? What's the functionality exactly? PS Blog tells me they are simply cosmetic.
