I'm curious... what the hell are you talking about?Based on who's buying the Switch so far, they probably only needed to make this one.

I just want to back up my saves to a cloud. I fear to lose 70 hours of Zelda play over some random shenanigans someday.

He's implying that Nintendo should make a Switch that only works on the TV.I wanna know too. All this info is cool but scrolling down I just saw this image and a weird sentence that makes no sense...
That is only part of the story. Such a chip is not necessarily very expensive. This is relatively trivialAnother interesting tidbit: I'm starting to realize why Joy-cons cost as much, they really have a lot of technology packed in, including a full image processing chip for the IR Camera:
Camera placement makes it not very useful but people could still do cool things with it. Kind of like they did with Wii Remotes. It's basically a poor Man's Kinect in some ways. This is super cool. Could this have kinetic like application if there is a way to link a joycon to a pc?
'The Wii was popular how can we do Wii-style gameplay without the sensor bar?'I really want to know what the condos were that made this included. I doubt it'll ever be used for a game again, outside of a Wario ware type of game. Interesting tech but the placement on the controller makes it useless for any normal gameplay.

He's implying only the general white male audience it's onto Switch so far, the same people who buy Sony consoles, no kids and no women.I'm curious... what the hell are you talking about?
The camera can do things that the Wii Remote couldn't do yes. But it also allows doing things that the Wii could do that you couldn't do without it. The sensor bar was used for calibrating sensor drift for motion plus for instance and for pointer controls without it that were better than gyro based pointer controls. But that (pointer controls) is being done with gyro, and has nothing to do with the camera. What the camera can do is stuff the Wiimote couldn't, but the only use of it I've seen so far is the eating mini-game in 1 2 Switch.
All this new Ko Takeuchi art though
is there any hint on cloud saving? there was this false rumor... and I Love this Feature on xbl
Is that Danny Sexbang!?
Also the sdk might be useful if an exploit is found, but it would be severely limiting when it comes to things like like the original xbox stuff.
No ready means to distribute things.

Does this explain why the Pro Controller is so expensive? Does it have the same camera setup?
The problem with using a leaked SDK for Homebrew is that that actually pushes the Homebrew pretty firmly into the illegal territory, as opposed to the disliked by platform holders but legally okay space Homebrew usually occupies.
I care more about being able to back up my saves on my PC or in Nintendo's cloud rather than transferring them to another Switch or whatever. Aren't they confined to the game card right now?

I really appreciate Nintendo made this effort so we can have that sandwich eating mini-game in 1-2-Switch.Another interesting tidbit: I'm starting to realize why Joy-cons cost as much, they really have a lot of technology packed in, including a full image processing chip for the IR Camera:

Impressive as it is, sounds like a complete waste.
IDK, I could see this being useful for some form of creation app, where you can use real world objects to create in software objects.

One right by the cart slot.Except you can't. I'd love to see something that shows otherwise, but even with the tech included the execution is just not going to work in any easy-to-play way.
I'd much rather them have used that cost towards a headphone jack.

He/she likely meant on the Joy-Con.One right by the cart slot.
Yes, that was exactly what i was implying. It'll help in the beginning but it's a worse thing long term as without a "need" to make a software environment, devs can get lazy and complacent like the original xbox Homebrew scene.

So, why is this called NX then?
The sensor bar isn't really needed. IR tracking can use any stationary object in the room. Sensor bar solved a slightly different problem and is an old solution.Yes, but the camera won't help with that. It's pointing the wrong way, and is blocked by your hand when holding the Joycon normally. What, are you gonna hold it backwards? Plus, there's no sensor bar.
Hey I don't work for Nintendo! I don't make these calls!Except you can't. I'd love to see something that shows otherwise, but even with the tech included the execution is just not going to work in any easy-to-play way.

Definitely impressive how much tech they seem to have squeezed into it.The joycons are really underrated tecnologically. This is some impressive stuff.
Did they grow up? :O

Docs say IR tracking for objects only has a range of about 30cm.Most important news to me, the confirmation the IR camera range *is* actually greater than 30cm when used with so called reflective "markers".
Switch 2, 3, 4 confirmed
Eurogamer has verified the document as legitimate but it is now at least six months out of date - from late 2016.
Despite widespread speculation these system features will be added imminently, more up to date versions of the docs lack word of these details.
