Nah tales from the hood was produced by spike lee. Directed by the lightskin dude with dreads who played the little boys teacher in the film. I'm pretty sure he wrote an directed this and Sprung another 90's Classic.

Man I forgot all about Sprung, movie was hella funny makes me want go re-watch it havent seen it in a minute.

They should bring back tales from the crypt I think there would be an audience for it.

Go do it. Hasn't aged at all really.

With walking dead/black mirror/American horror story and all the other shows that involve fantasy and horror I think it would be very popular. They need to keep the crypt keepers terrible puns an all. That intro is still one of the best.

Wasn't there some crypt keeper movies as well? I remember being young and stoned renting these 70s horror thrill movies with a crypt keeper or some shit with my literal fam. The video rental place had a Texas chainsaw massacre cut out with an Ernest scared stupid face.

The series spawned three movies, Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood, and Ritual.
There was also a Tales From The Crypt movie and a Vault of Horror movie in the '70s.

Yup that's his name. I believe I read somewhere that he also directed lots of the chappelle show.

I remember seeing him do segments on Michael Moore's TV series in the '90s.

There is also a cartoon as well that came from the series.

Would HBO even do it, or have they become too above it all at this point? I know that TNT is working on a reboot, but I'm not really interested. Has TNT managed to assert itself as a network on par with FX or AMC? Because I can't see the show being able to get away with doing what HBO was able to do so with their version.

TNT is also doing a show based on 'Let The Right One In', so I have no idea what their endgame is with the horror genre.
