Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars official thread ~ Going across the border!

How come haunts said the new music was awesome? I thought I read that the new music sucks compared to the old stuff from the JPN release.

The new music (what I have heard) sounds so much better to me. I was playing Cross-Generation Of Heroes today and wanted to mute my TV after having seen Ultimate All-Stars in action.

SF4's music is pretty much just sort of "there" for me. I don't dislike any of it, but none of it really stands out either.

All three SF3s have the best music overall out of all of Capcom's fighting games, IMO.

I can't wait for the Orbital Ring bgm rip. That was retro-tastic!

Wow, ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, of all places and specifically Jew Wario, has a nice info on Tatsunoko. What is Tatsunoko, indeed.

pre-ordered the game a few minutes ago.
do i need a classic controller pro to play it right?
or ist the Wii-mote good enough?

classic controller is preferable over wiimote
it is playable on wii mote but button layout isn't too great.

Get a classic controller if you can will add to enjoyment of the game

i do have the classic controller. i don't have the cc pro.

GAF account activated just in time to say: DAY ONE ON TVC (and NMH2):D

Pre-ordered it at Zavvi, its obscenely cheap.

Day two of hammering out combos on the MadCatz stick and it's still solid as ever (played for about 10 hrs today). This is really a great stick for the Wii if you guys are looking into getting one.

Haven't tried the Hori stick they have for the Wii but I cant imagine it being int he same league as the MadCatz one. Really impressed, good shit MadCatz and MarkMan!

Would the best fighting game comparison for this be marvel? I read a few sites claiming it was close to smash bros as well!

Yes. It's pretty much like playing a new Marvel game, without the Marvel.

I'm not sure who compared it to smash bros but it's nothing like that game.

So as you guys can probably tell im really pumped about this game and the new guides my team has been working on. Sooo.. I wanted to give my GAF brethren a sneak peek of what's in store. Hope you guys dont mind me spamming my own site but I really think everyone who is into this game will appreciate what we are doing.

Keep in mind this is a WORK IN PROGRESS. We are going through and tying up loose ends but we strive for this guide to be a great place for people to start to get their heads around each character and the over all game system..

Here is what we've got on our Alex guide so far, and keep in mind we are still smoothing out the rough edges so keep checking back for updates.

The rest of the guide is of course still under wraps but if everyone likes what they see I'll keep you updated as we go along. :)

Because I don't know if Dutch retailers will sell the Tatsunoko vc. Capcom sticks I ordered two of them from cdwow. They should arrive around the same time the TvC game gets released here.

Wow haunts! That's was a really good guide, straight to the point and informative. Also, easy on the eyes. And the fact that there is a video doesn't hurt it either.

Looking forward to getting my ass beaten by you.

got the email from Amazon saying my SE stick shipped yesterday!! Will be here on Monday in time for release date shipping next week!!!!

Hello all! This happens to be my first day of finally having an account here and it came just in time to tell you guys that TvC is officially available at certain mom and pop stores in Newark, NJ. I didn't purchase it myself but I wanted to let anyone who's very excited about the game and is within reach know so that they can enjoy it as soon as possible.

I don't know if it is appropriate to just throw out the name of the place, but it's a non-Gamestop video game store on Broad Street in Newark, shouldn't be that hard to google.

Welcome to gaf, and thanks for the heads up!

It's only a few days left and still few reviews.

And still no sign of online impressions anywhere, well NP, but I'm discounting them. I'm talking more youtube videos or live streams showing if its Brawl like or well, decent at least.

When Capcom decided to bring Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom to the U.S. as Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars they added a few more characters to the game. If it does well enough, Niitsuma says that they may consider releasing even more characters for the Wii game as downloadable purchases.

Don't know if this needed its own thread. I'm too new.:lol Comment is from Kotaku's Brian Crecente.

Well yeah, their source is again that mysterious editorial letter.

They probably need page hits.

Unless the option for DLC is built-into the retail version of UAS, then it would be impossible... I think.

I just impulse preordered this game, but this was something that I was confused about. There's 4 action buttons (ABCP), so how does that map to a plain wiimote? Or does it require the nunchuk? I also have 4 Gamecube controllers to use, so hopefully that'll be fine.

If they didn't do DLC for SF4 they won't do it for TvC, especially with licensing concerns and Wii's structure. Probably kotaku once again hit fishing by mis-interrupting Capcom's original test game statement (if it sells well, there will be a sequel).

IS TAHTSUUUU BAYBEEEEEEEE!

It had to be said.

I wonder if it will be released day and date or if there will be a 1-day turnaround like with most games.

Oh the "joys" of living in the Midwest...

It appears to be street-dated for Tuesday. I base that off of Amazon offering release date delivery.

plain wiimote controls are on the official site... looks to basically take away the typical vs. controls and puts in a new control scheme... looks kind of easy-mode IMHO unless there is something I'm missing..

http://tatsunoko.vscapcom.com/system02.html#system

best cheapest way to play it IMHO is classic controller. otherwise grab a Hori Fighting Stick if you can find one ($50) or the vastly superior stick MadCatz is releasing for this game (even better than the SFIV SE sticks)

CC can kill your thumb after a while though...and you have to change a shoulder button to two punches (I prefer M+H) so that you can advance guard (L+M+H) or team super (M+H+P) or mega crash (L+M+H+P)

Great guide haunts. I've always wanted one ever since getting the CGoH but ended up learning some neat combos on my own. Can't wait to see it completed.

I just did it by pressing the buttons but it was a bitch :lol

I'm definitely going to change the shoulder buttons this time around.

I remember reading about a particualr issue with the jap version of this that stated that ryu was almost a mandatory pic if you wanted to play against someone else who chose him as one of their team members. Was this ever true, and if so, does anyone know if its been addressed in this one?

If anyone has any questions for the development team -- and I mean anything! -- let me know (via PM) or post them on the forums and I'll get them answered right away. I have an interview with the team in exactly an hour, so the sooner the better =) they can be silly or serious.
