Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars official thread ~ Going across the border!

This is a bit dumb, but have they considered purely a Tatsunoko fighter? No not like the
PS1 game, but using all of their IP in a huge free for all battle?

Also, Cat Ninden! no question, just Cat Ninden!

If anyone has any questions for the development team -- and I mean anything! -- let me know (via PM) or post them on the forums and I'll get them answered right away. I have an interview with the team in exactly an hour, so the sooner the better =) they can be silly or serious.

How did they choose what Capcom characters to feature in the game.

My only question would be, if TvC does well and they make a sequel, would there be a chance of negotiating and resolving Daimaoh's licensing issues? Maybe issues with the music and anime cutscenes (meaning new tracks and clips made for a sequel that would be released worldwide)?

Haha, glad you guys like the guide so far but I didnt create most of it -- I have a couple TVC beasts writing most of the strategy from the ground up. I made all the graphics and am making the combo videos, stuff like that. Trust me, I suck at this game personally but I'm getting better each day. :D

Haunts do you have a date for haunts v. the world: TvC edition?

Hrrmm.. probably Tues - Thursday next week... I'll probably start off with TVC then do some late nite SF4 action.. KINKY!!

Haunts or anyone else who got it early, how is the button config?
is it good like HDRemix or silly and convoluted like SFIV or T6

Umm... with the tVC stick all the buttons are correct right out of the gates so I dunno...

As far as online, havent tried it yet -- sorry.

dude I have no one to play with online. the one guy could i think his router settings are messed up or something so I am waiting for more ppl to get online. X_x

I've been told not to talk about how to unlock characters yet for some reason but I'll post up how to do it on our guide come monday or tuesday.

The not knowing who the Tatsunoko characters are as a flaw thing people bring up never really made sense to me. I like being exposed to new characters I never knew about before. Maybe some of them are awesome! Nothin' wrong with new stuff. I never knew about Strider before Marvel vs Capcom and since then went back and played the original Strider and it was hella groovy.

IIRC in Cross-Generation of Heroes, you unlocked the four Wii-exclusive characters (Viewtiful Joe, Saki, Ippatsuman, and [removed from the new version] Hakuson Daimao) by just beating the arcade mode twice with your lead/winning character being from each side, then the characters appear in the shop for 1000 or 2000 points each.

I bet it's the same for the UAS characters too.

Cant wait!!! Im gonna play as karas and zero first!!

You probably have to unlock Zero first. ;)

What is the best combo do with Ryu while in Baroque mode? I remember seeing a Youtube vid and I think it was of Japanese players where Ryu made a sick comeback after doing Baroque combo. Anyone have the link to that video?

I really like the music in this stage

http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/article.php?id=14351

The stage featured in the video at ONM has a pretty nice track. Really starting to like the Ultimate all stars soundtrack better than cross generation. Reminds me of something you'd hear in a shoot em up or early-mid nineties anime. Please tell me that track is in the game.

Oh god, next week is gonna be brutal....Mass Effect 2, MAG and TvC? AHHHHH!!!! Wallet hurts!!!!
Game looks so fun though and i really want to try and get my wife to play this.

UAS is already better than Cross Generation of Heroes music-wise because it doesn't have the fucking roll theme song that makes me want to rip my ears off.

*hugs Japanese copy*

I will be glad to shelve the Japanese version for good once I have UAS-- The new music fits the game so much better than 90% of those character themes.

Okay, her theme is annoying. Yatterman and Ippatsuman themes <3

I thought there was going to be an English version of the song used somewhere in the game?

Can you assign voices the way you could in SFIV? Say set Viewtiful Joe to english VA and then Ryu to japanese?

There are no English voices except for Frank West, and with him it's only English.

IGN's review did say there was an option to switch between Japanese and English tracks, although I have a feeling it's only for Across the Border and Roll's theme.

I just got the TvC stick and it is pretty solid out the gate. Number one thing that stuck out was the construction of it. Love the matte face and the weight of the stick. I wouldn't say it's significantly heavier than the PS3/360 SE, but there's a noticeable difference. Buttons have a nice soft touch and are much better than its predecessor. And granted the stick is no JLF or LS-32, its leaps and bounds beyond the PS3/360 SE.

I rocked some CGoH awhile ago and all my inputs felt crisp. I'm like haunts in the fact that I'd rather have my parts custom, especially since I'm a big Seimitsu fan. Aside from that fact, this thing feels all sorts of good. We'll see how well this holds up after constant usage, but as of now, this is obviously the best stock stick out on the market for the Wii.

I had to stare at the box all day at work >_<

Whoa. Never heard the first one in that video before. This is the one I'm used to

EDIT

This one ain't bad either

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZBYTSCDON0

Yeah the latter is amazing, almost thought it was an official version at first.

That Yatterman Medley is comprised of 3 versions of the song. The first verse is the first 2008 opening, the second verse is the original opening, and the third verse is from a remix done in the 90s for the Royal Revival OVA. I'm hoping to remake the video, just looking for some higher quality RAWs to work with.

Actually, I was pretty disappointed with the two Yatterman themes used in TvC (Yatterman instrumentalization was crap, and they picked Doronbo no Shiraake instead of the superior Tensai Doronbo), but otherwise I thought it was fine. It evokes the midi tunes of the old versus games.

Oh and page updated with IGN and EDGE scores.

Amazon is saying my delivery estimate for No More Heroes 2 is Feb 1st, but this one will hold me over quite a while until then! Go go release date delivery!
