thnx, looks like i will just meet the recommended. Still buying a new PC for this game :D

Sign me up... I've been waiting for this one far too long! Also, EXTREME bonus points if this ends up being on the 360 at the same time.

Haha, Maybe. I had One-off wednesday tentatively scheduled with Race 07. If it goes up tomorrow, then yeah, I might just schedule both tuesday and wednesday for it :). We shall see.

Doesn't look like much range on the flame-thrower.
That's the idea. He has the strongest weapon in the game, but his range sucks. He's the fastest character after the scout, so he'll be good for flag defense or close offense (Buildings, around control points, etc).

Light people up.

Who plans on playing pyro?

Yeah, I don't think you can judge the pyro from that video with a player who runs out into the middle of an open area head up with a Heavy Weapons guy :-p.

"Who plans on playing pyro?"

Besides medic, I'll be checking out the demo man.

Isn't that the point? I get the feeling from some of the impressions that I've read that he is actually quite viable this time around.

Personally, I'll be playing the Medic or Engineer. (With a little bit of the Spy on the side.)

It's 9:15am tuesday september 11th (in aus) and there is still no beta :(

Anyone know if this will be a midnight-US thing ? Or just randomly durring the day on tuesday something will happen.

Finally a game my pc should be able to play. woohoo

I'd imagine it would occur sometime during the business day tomorrow. So, approx. 15 hours or so.

:lol Everything Valve does is revolved around Pacific time in the US. And that's assuming that the beta/demo actually is released tomorrow and they're not just announcing that they are planning to do one.

That might make sense with the whole "You're going to want to hold off on planning any vacations until you hear what we've got to say on Tuesday." thing.

in not quote related news, Gamestop is still running their special of preordering The Orange Box for $5 off the MSRP, so I went in today and preordered my 360 copy :D

I'M ABOUT TO PLAY TF2?!?!?! AFTER LIKE A DECADE!?

This seriously is about as emotional as I'm going to get about gaming for a long while. It's been too long, old friend. You've come back in style.

*teardrop*

I was in the CS:S beta, good times. Just hope valve is not going the tight ass route this time round. Bring on TF2! :D

So are there any special actions we need to take in order to solidify, or at least reassure chances of getting into this possible beta?

I realise this is probably a stupid question.

No one knows at the moment, but hopefully it's not some stupid drawn out application. Valve are pretty good when it comes to things like this so I expect something that will please most people.

It wouldn't surprise me If it's a pre-order "[Insert Colour] Box and play TF2 with 1 map now" deal. Which is fine by me.

AFAIK the PC and 360 versions are still on. Only the PS3 version was delayed.

Hmmm, shouldn't Orange Box have gone gold by now? I thought 1 month is around the lead time from going gold to hitting shelves?

hmm as long as its done by 7pm bst i wont mind too much.

really would like to have a go at this. is there any reason it couldnt be a demo? as opposed to a beta.

Nah, demo means support. Beta can be release & forget.

Plus, people are more forgiving when it's a beta opposed to a demo. Beta means 'still working on it'. Demo is 'small snippit of the final game'. Beta is safer...

I hope they release whatever they're going to put out there early so us euros get to play around with it at least!

I'd prefer a 360 demo since I only have my laptop at school which probably won't run TF2 but...Excited to see what Valve's got in store for us today.
