Team Ico Collection - New Promo Vids!

It looks... exactly the same? Or am I blind? Or is it supposed to be that way?

Of course I'll probably end up buying it either way...

lol, go back and play Shadow of the Colossus on the PS2 again. It doesn't look anywhere CLOSE to being as clean as that promo.

They should basically look the same but in glorious HD and with fixed framerate/MLAA. Shame about the 60 fps :\

You're blind. Or haven't played these games in a long time. SOTC doesn't look nearly that good on the PS2. All of these collections of games I never played are awesome.
 
IMO the best thing about the visuals is that it still retains its artistic integrity. They didn't add any stupid filters to it, nothing looks unnecessarily shiny or out of place.

It's just ICO/SOTC, in HD.

Yeah, you really need to replay the original ICO. Jaggy PS1 level graphics everywhere.

Happens in every thread about a game that's remastered. It looks how you remember it looking, but not how it actually looked.

I realize that I don't remember lots of parts of the story (for both games)... and that makes me feel so happy, it's going to be like living the magic for the first time again... I just want to go there and look at the leaves on the trees, the sunlight going through them, on them, I remember the quality of the lightning was so amazing... felt "warm"... hearing the sounds, holding her hand... protecting her no matter what... and then on to the other one... riding through those fields... fighting the Colossus... feeling sad... soobing like a cry baby being overwhelemed because of all the beauty that these two games have to share with you in so many ways /sight... end of September right?
 
Lotsa spoilers if you haven't played through ICO yet, I'd be cautious with these trailers.

Looking pretty good, can't wait til we meet again Yorda :<!

And yet I just feel more depressed because I know The Last Guardian is probably two years away.

I played Ico only a few months ago. From what I can tell, it looks almost exactly the same except it's obviously in HD so you can see stuff more clearly. If you play on the original intended hardware (a tube TV), it looks the same, just... blurrier.

edit: actually, it looks like they vastly improved some of the Ico textures, but other ones are randomly still bad?

I was hoping they'd take the opportunity to fix some things that just look weird, like Agro's tail in SoTC or the main character's clothes/hair in SoTC, or the trees in Ico

Like I said before, that's the TV's fault, not the game's. If you play on the intended hardware (a tube TV), it looks great even though Ico is rendered in 240p.
 
I am so tired of buying remakes and hd remasters this gen but damn these games look good! Are they being released individually or as a two pack? I thought it was a 2 pack...

Good stuff.
While I loathe the concept of HD remakes, Ico is a game everyone should have played, and not enough people gave it the light of day in the ps2 era.

lol. 240p looks awful no matter the platform or screen.

I wish they'd just release this stuff on PC. Resolution would scale automatically, and in 2020 we wouldn't have to buy the Quad-HD remake in 120fps.

Edit: Well, youtube now also offers 720p for these videos, so no need. :-P

I'm pretty excited for SotC after never having played it. Ico looks like something I should try out as well.
