Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Tecmo Koei released materials from its earnings presentation today, providing us with a glimpse at its near term plans.

Here's how the company views the world market:

In the upper left is Japan, shown with portables like Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. In the upper right is "world," shown with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. And at the bottom is another "world," this time shown with Smartphones and PCs.

As one of its upcoming business initiatives, the company says that it plans to actively support new platforms. It demonstrated this with Dead or Alive Dimensions, Dynasty Warriors VS and FabStyle on 3DS, Dynasty Warriors Next and Ninja Gaiden Sigma on PlayStation Vita, and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge on Wii U. Razor's Edge is planned to launch opposite Wii U, according to the presentation materials.

Tecmo Koei also says that it plans collaboration titles. A slide lists the previously announced One Piece Pirate Musou, a pairing of the popular One Piece franchise with Dynasty Warriors. The slide also mentions a "collaboration with a big title" for the latter half of the year. It's possible that this is actually just One Piece Pirate Musou, but it could be in reference to an unannounced game.

In its six month midterm results, announced on the 7th, Koei Tecmo Holdings reported sales of 13,635 million yen and a net profit of 412 million yen. These were up from May 9 forecasts of 12,500 million yen and a net loss of 400 million yen.

Dead or Alive Dimensions on 3DS sold 310,000 units worldwide while Dynasty Warriors 7 Xtreme Legends sold 160,000 units in Japan on PS3. These along with Samurai Warriors 3 Empires performed well, and the company also made note of strong download content sales for games like Dynasty Warriors 7. Paid content for social games like One Million Person Ambition of Nobunaga and One Million Person Sangokushi also performed well.

Thats way more than I would have expected for DoA.

Why so? People still do like the franchise, even though the series hasn't exactly been "competitive" worthy since the days of DOA3.1.

I'm not really speaking about the franchise itself. Just wasn't really expecting much given that it sold like 20k its first week in Japan iirc. There wasn't much marketing behind when it came to the west either, so I figured it wouldn't do much.
