These space episodes just aren't doing it for me. This is where the Turtles just lose me. The comics and the 2K3 show in particular. I just want them in New York fighting Foot Soliders and Shredder.

I was okay with it in the 2003 series but for some reason it isn't working for me this time. I'm not caring for the season that much. Today's episode felt really boring to me.

This season in general just wasn't set up great. They're just trying to beat the Triceraton's to Black Hole Generator parts they obviously won't get, and it'll likely repeat until the finale, although I'm not sure what they'll do for the midseason finale.

Also it looks like the 80's cartoon might start airing on Nicktoons.

I'm with you. Once they go to space they kind of jump the shark every time. The Triceratons are part of the overall lore of TMNT, but Space and Time Travel is always such a lame way to get more out of your universe without doing anything that interesting in it.

That, and since they're in the past, once this season is over, it's just going to go back to the main story as if nothing happened. But it'll be even worse because, now that we've seen more of the universe at large, Shredder isn't really much a threat anymore, either.

Is that alien with the food tray 50-cent? lol There is no way thats no him.

edit- never mind it has to be Charley Murphy I think.

Kind of checked out. The stories feel like the show is going nowhere and little progress being made plot-wise, there's a lot of tone-deafness happening as well with characters saying "I'm so bored" or "finally some action!" You're in space and have to save Earth, guys. The complaining isn't justified.

Casey Jones has turned into the worst character on top of that. Probably should have left him behind. April-ex Machina isn't much better. The lack of strong villains to go up against have probably hurt the most, though. The Triceratons have nothing going for them story-wise and nobody has the presence of even a Tiger Claw much less a Shredder.

I haven't watched past the second episode this season. Think I'm just going to wait until the whole thing plays out and do a catch up.

I really felt the Shredder story line should have been tied up before going on their space adventures. I could've sworn I read in some interviews that the turtles were supposed to be dealing with Shredder in "a serious way" and that third season would've been a wrap up. I wonder if something happened behind the scenes that interfered with the original intent. You can kind of feel it as halfway through the third season it seemed like things were just artificially dragged out and the plot just stalled until they wanted to give a reason to throw the turtles out in space.

I think once you deviate from Shredder, you jump the shark.

How could they screw up the idea of turtles going into outer space???

The same way they screwed up Turtles going to the farm. You have this big threat, yet instead of following up on it in a timely manner, they stretch things out with a bunch of episodes where nothing happens.

The lameness is punctuated by the abrupt stop of the intro to fill us in on the space shenanigans.

The fight choreography taking a hit is what bothers me the most though.

It it has been a low on the series, it still didn't reached "fast foward" status for me.

There is still hint of something good to come

Yeah it feels like they're doing the same thing they did with the farm season by wasting the premise and doing too many "fillers". I'm just gonna wait until the finale again to get anything substantial.

This show is pretty bad. It was always pretty bad but now people are finally realizing it, I guess?

The change to Neutrinos was strange. Not sure I understand the point of that. (I never really understood making 'the Utrom' into 'the Kraang' either, but that was, for some reason, rectified recently.)

Nothing has really proven to me that I was watching a show for babies like that Michaelangelo rapping scene this week but then moments later there was a Twin Peaks black lodge reference. I don't get it.

Its not people realizing its bad its that there are people who genuinely liked this iteration of the show until this season which is not anywhere near as entertaining.

Nice Utrom backstory this morning. Next week should be interesting based on the title:
The Cosmic Ocean
.

I wonder if this is going to be another batshit episode like Wyrm and Mikey's Mind. I say this because this season has seemed to follow a pattern now that I'm looking at the episodes list. Straight - straight - crazy - straight - straight - crazy - straight - straight - ?, so far. And if the directorial pattern holds up, it should be Sebastian Montes who has made some of the crazier, artsier episodes of this series.

Best episode so far this season. Pretty similar to the 2003 version, except for about 3 episodes shorter.

I suppose that's the thing that really bothers me.

It's one thing when this show decides to "re-invent" some characters and concepts. I'm not at all in favor of what they did to
Bishop
, among others, but whatever, maybe it works for the sake of this show's "narrative", such as it is.

But
Zeno
is just an expy of my boy,
Traximus
. And it just comes off as lazy. Only bothered to tune in to this particular ep because some friends of mine know that I'm a Triceraton fanboy, even though I definitely believe this show doesn't do them justice. But I just got more proof positive that my belief that I just need to drop this for good was well-placed, because this show just hasn't done anything for me before the waste that was their take on the "Northhampton Exile" arc.

On Vita so I can't link but Pixel Dan has put up a toy fair video which shows off human Karai and Armagon and discusses the fate of previously known toys such as Muckman, The Creep and Ice cream kitty.

This is such a frustrating series.

Every once in awhile it will throw out a cool idea like Shredder/Splinter being raised together or the Kraang basically being the ending of a zombie apocalypse movie for the Utrom.

But it's surrounded by a bunch of wheel spinning bullshit like this space season or the time on the farm.

And alot of the arcs feel like shittier rushed versions of the 2K3 show.

Irma getting her head blown off was awesome though!

The 2D segment is pretty unspectacular. It looks like a colored-in animatic. I'm so excited for the original VAs though. :)

The 80s turtles look amazing in 3D. As long as the gang is together, they should make a videogame with them
a real Smash Bros. appearance. Believe
. They made a few mistakes though. Animation nitpicking and all that.

edit: noticed that 80s turtles are being mixed in with the main TMNT toy line. Don't know what I'd do with a Spittin' Raph though. :P

I hope they somehow acknowledge '87 Raphael and 2012 Donatello having the same voice actor, that'd be cool.
I recall reading a tweet or something from an interview or something else along those lines where Paulsen said something to the effect that he enjoyed talking to himself during this crossover, so I have to imagine a joke or two is made about it.

It's a reference to the original TMNT movie.

Did this show get any better after S3 btw? I completely gave up on it.

Overall is not as good as S1 and S2 ... but better than S3, specialy the begining.

And it has some awesome moments

I enjoyed it. Was more compact than Turtles Forever for sure. Enjoyed the continuity at the conclusion as well.

Turtles Forever still feels a bit hollow due to the licensing issues.

I liked Turtles Forever better.

Didn't help that they reused alot of the jokes from that and the 2D animation was really bad.

Still it was fun to see Krang again, and having the original VAs..
