People often talk about how fighting games have abusive DLC practices but this is why I think this kind of business model is perfect for the genre. Many people who don't play anymore return for more months of fun which is great.
I didn't buy any Tekken 7 character yet, the base roster already have so many possibilities...darn...even my main, Jin, after many and many hours of practice is not in his full potential. But I appreciate facing new characters and the boost in player numbers.

Seriously, it's bad. And I don't get what fighting game devs has been doing lately on consoles, everything has been scaled back. Did we even get a Pro/X patch for Tekken/SC/DOA/SF?

That's ridiculous. No one else seems to have this problem.
With that being the case, I'd say they have no business asking for additional purchases until they can sort this out.

She looks really cool. Maybe I'll try her out. Her fighting style kind of reminds me of Hitomi from DOA for some reason. I actually haven't played Tekken 7 in awhile as much as I enjoy it.

She is akin to Hitomi, but with a higher execution barrier. Same fighting style. She's pretty bad ass. She doesn't replace Fahk for me, but she's probably my number 2 DLC char.

Don't know if anybody else has noticed but the screenshots for Lidia and Island Paradise are much higher resolution then the game.
I did think this was just normal until I check Kunimitsu and other screenshots from DLC and the game and they all are pretty much representative of what the game looks like.
But Lidia's are definitely a bump up in resolution
Not sure if this works as I've captured it on the PS5 which will capture it in 4k and then sent it via the app, probably compressed now but here

Well Yeah thats kinda obvious, and my shitty screenshot makes that pointless comparison
I don't think me screen grabbing it and then sending to the PS app was a good idea
But if anyone has Tekken 7 with a PS5 just look at the screens on the PSstore and compare them to the game and other screen off the store, they definitely higher resolution

Damn. Makes me want to try Tekken again but it's really hard for me to like the series when DOA and Namco's own Soulcalibur games have 3D movement that's actually fun to use. I know I'll probably get some response about how Tekken is more deep than either of those games but It's hard me to care when basic shit like movement is a chore.

They killed off Jin and brought him back in two different characters. Heihachi supposedly died back in Tekken 5, but that didn't really change anything (actually, nothing changed).
I wish they would reboot Tekken. Give it the SF4 treatment. It feels way too upbeat. I use to care about those ending movies, but now it's the last thing I try to view.

They need a damn fucking time jump again! The time gap between Tekken 2 and 3 was 18 years to refresh the franchise. Tekken 4 was two years later and ever since then the gap has been really short. Tekken 5 is ONE MONTH after 4, 6 is one year after 5, 7 is one year after 6. So timeline wise Tekken is set in either 2017 or 2001 (depending on if Tekken 3 is set in 1997 or 2013).

Also wasn't Tekken 7 the final chapter of the Mishima story? Afair the story mode had "end of the mishima feud" in the title or something like that.
Aaaaand Jin counts as Kazama.
But yeah we will see. Hopefully I am wrong.

But in the end nothing makes sense in this series anyway. Swimming in a volcano is like taking a shower.

There's now this fucking trend to hold on games for 6-10 years and it sucks, look at Mario Kart 8, Gta V, Smash and such
Really annoying, but from developers point of view makes sense, you have maximum profits for minimal expense
From players pov sucks tho, you know you are stuck for a decade with the same shit

They should either soft reboot, restarting from tekken 1 and rewriting plot - look at resident evil overwriting plot with remakes - or totally reboot, with an all new cast
But the mishima story is over, makes no sense to go on with it
I'd do a tekken tag ultimate with every character in tekken history, then reboot

But Tekken to me is Kazuya, Jin, Heihachi, Paul, Law, King, Yoshimitsu, Nina, Lei etc etc.
I don't think I would like a Tekken without them. I say, screw the story and just make a good fighting game.

In reality nobody knows when T8 will come, but i think it's at least in the Tekken Team head now. I can see a last Season 5 with PS5/XSX patch upgrade plus Netcode improvement as last T7 update, meanwhile start working on new Tekken 8. The sales are also a thing that determinate this, T7 is now 7 millions, laster year was 6 millions, so it make sens they continue to do passes, but i think if Season 5 is a thing it will fore sure be the last one.
I think Hei is dead for real this time *crying emote* , but even if it's the case "IF" they can still put him playbale in Tekken 8 like NRS did with Joker in Injustice 2. Joker died in Injustice but he is in Injustice 2 as playble character and also appear in the story in a sens that isn't nonsenical

So for Heihachi in tekken 8 they can make for example a part of the story where Kazuya would be sitting in his Desk, thinking about his past and remembering moments where he was training with Heihachi, so that would make Heihachi playble in the game while still canonically dead in the story. But again it's Bamco they can also just revive him, who knows maybe Dr.B has created a time machine dolorean and he will save Hei for some reasons.
