Well... that was embarrassing. I actually feel embarrassed for a game. To think Tekken used to be my favourite fighting game. So sad what's happened. Thank god for Virtua Fighter.
 
I hope Revolution is just something to keep parts of the team busy while the rest are preparing a new entry in the series... I really dislike every addition and change in this game, especially the free to play mechanics. I love Tekken, but I'm not going to play more of this game and I will stop playing the franchise if this is the direction it's going.

Wow. As a longtime tekken fan... I love this.
Always enjoyed the goofy parts of tekken.

Tekken has pretty much always been weird. fighting animals, dinosaurs, robots, wooden training dummies, demons, angels. But this is definitely a new level of goofiness.

I kinda kinda understand moe robot and Goku, but dem? Nah

Ok I gotta say I dig Zafina(hardly anyone plays her sadly) and Bob but the rest of the new editions are meh. Miguel is especially boring.
 
For everyone saying that this new character isn't weird for Tekken, you aren't looking at this from a gameplay perspective. Traditional 2d fighting game fireballs haven't been in a Tekken game in this way before. It really seems like an experiment for or left over from TxSF development. It's definitely a departure for a Tekken title. It's cool that they are experimenting with this stuff, but I wouldn't really want this character along with the crit and invincibility attacks in a main line Tekken game.

Edit: Actually I take back saying I wouldn't want this type of character in a main line Tekken game, I can't make that judgement without play as her and against her.

As I said above those were bosses or joke characters (the Jacks were legit). This is a new general purpose character. And it's not a vampire that takes it over the level. It's crossed the line for me at part 6.
 
That's just side story. Bosses and joke characters aside the core fighting remained pure until part 6.

Gameplay wise? because everything else has been dumb and entertaining since like...ever, blood sucking expansion vampires are just the next logical step yo.

Projectiles are typically slow and unblockable, used more for combos and annoying players at low levels. The fireball this character has seems much more like what you would find in a 2D game, being more viable for zoning and applying pressure from a distance. I'd have to see how easy it is to side step and punish from a distance in game, but it could change how the game plays a reasonable amount when she is included in a match up.
 
Eh, I don't really care much for her character. Hated the design and while I usually like goth, this seems rather meh. But I don't play Revolution so it doesn't really matter in the end to me.

Though I should uninstall that game off my PS3...

See, I have not played tekken since 5 so I would not have considered this, but I find this a more valid concern/criticism than not liking a ridiculous new character in a game full of tons of ridiculous characters already.

Edit: From a character design standpoint of course.

Actually she was voted in before any details were really known about playstyles if I recall.

What you like about them? I'm not a very big fan of global reversal options in fighting games. Giving characters moves with invincibility frames is a pretty uninteresting way to deal with pressure and when used correctly rewards players just for guessing that the other player is going to keep pressuring. Older Tekken games already have mechanics like ducking highs and side stepping linear attacks that reward noticing a pattern in the other players pressure and choosing the right option to help turn the tables. The invincible moves are risky given how negative they are on block, but I find them to be an annoyingly straight forward mechanic to try and help players who can't deal with defensive situations, solving a problem that doesn't need solving.
