Tekken X Street Fighter (Namco developed crossover) development on hold

I feel this needs a shocking news tag, we will likely see this in 2020. SFV needs a few years to make money for capcom and T7 isn't even out yet.

Might as well cancel it. Sf brand not good going to gain people interest in a tekken game at this point.
Guess we now know if capcom does another crossover with each company making their own game, the other dev better make sure they get to release their game first.

“But currently the situation is with fighting games, you have Street Fighter V that just released–a lot of people are playing that fervently"

That's funny. Tell another one.

But, yeah just cancel it already. Nobody's here for it at this point, ya done waited too long.

Tekken 7 is probably gonna get more SF characters as DLC and that'll be the end of it.

I see no problem with this. Stops them from having to develop a massive roster AND development dollars/time to release.

They should just drop it and maybe try their luck with a new Soul Calibur. Seriously the 3D fighting game drought is out of control.

Make Soul Calbur 6 instead please

If there's any justice (or at least if a certain rumor list holds up), they should be working on this.

I mean, what else could Masaaki Hoshino be overseeing now besides perhaps continued Pokken-related development?

I forgot about this game's existence and I doubt many people were actually expecting it to come out anyway after so much time has passed.

Sums up my feelings

I highly doubt they'll cancel it. It sounds like the game is pretty much finished, but that they're waiting for the right time to release it. Honestly, it's kind of a problem. Street Fighter V just came out, and Tekken 7 is coming soon. They might as well let it sit for a year or two and then release it.

Capcom wanted 2 million by the end of last month and while I haven't been keeping up to tell if the numbers are updated, it'll be lucky to have cracked 500k.

Capcom goofed HARD.

Honestly they got what they deserved, 16 character launch with very limited content, average netcode, and connecting to their servers to match up with an opponent can take forever even PS1 load times weren't this bad, you release a lemon expect shit sales..

This is what's really going on but hey, let's use this opportunity to get a couple of jabs in on SFV while we can.

I honestly had assumed it had be silently cancelled awhile ago. Like others have stated, I'd rather have a new SC game.

I don't think they'll cancel it, either. But at this point, it's been clear to see that, post the fallout from SFxT (and now maybe even SF5, as suggested above), it was never much of a priority for them.

Who can blame Namco, really, when you have your own property still doing quite well for itself (Tekken 7), and then got your hands on the mother of all sweetheart deals when you get to work with one of the biggest IPs in the world (Pokken)? And SC6 may be announced any day, now.

Street Fighter games usually start with small rosters, so it should be no surprise that SFV started small as well.

This, though I don't think they finished the game. It's likely that Tekken 7, Pokkén Tournament, & Smash 4 took up much of their time.

I mean, I wouldn't bother releasing this either given how Street Fighter V sold, and that Street Fighter x Tekken did a lot worse than either Street Fighter or Tekken in the first place.

That's what Harada said by saying something completely different.

You don't just spend tens of millions of dollars on something just to sit on it after completion. I'm no businessman, but that just seems like a horrible waste of money for video games.

It actually has fantastic netcode, but without changeable frame delay before a fight rollbacks can become a larger issue then they should be. Standard GGPO and Skullgirls already allow the frame delay to be changed before a fight, so they should apply that fix to SFV.
