Tetris Movie in the Works

It's legitimately an enjoyable kung fu movie. Not art house shit, of course, but about as enjoyable as any bruce lee flick.

I would say Mortal Kombat is mostly comparable to Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon. It borrows most of the same formula and even some basic plot point elements (traveling by boat to compete in a tournament in a mysterious location) and Liu Kang is basically the Bruce Lee of the movie. Not the most original premise, but it works pretty well when combined with the Mortal Kombat mythology.

It's miles better than the horrible Street Fighter movie, for sure... unless of course you love Street Fighter for the campiness factor. Though they are both pretty campy, but Mortal Kombat just works much better.

I think the only reason why I'd even see this film is to see how they made Tetris into a movie. We all know it's going to be bad, but the most interesting thing will be how they try to take a simple concept and make it incredibly bad.

Hahaha this thread delivers.
Now about the possible movie...I'm not so sure. If they could make it like Wreck It Ralph, then I could see it being possible.

If it is something like this, I'm in
Wetrix reference too!

A Tetris movie that has nothing to do with Tetris.
Not sure if that's better or worse than a Tetris movie that is about Tetris.

The movie is more heavily based on Enter the Dragon in my opinion.

Edit: already mentioned

Thats because the original comic born from MK was basically an enter the dragon rip off to begin with.

There are people who genuinely believe Threshold is a money laundering front. Others think they are an effort to purposely defraud investors. Even with the most complimentary take, they are insanely shady. So many bad rumors circulating about them.

This isn't a real movie that will be made.

Whoa. This post made me check out the company's Wikipedia page and they haven't made a lot of projects so far. One of them was the universally panned animated movie Food Fight which was made on a 65 mil. $ budget, and had to be remade from scratch since someone supposedly stole the hard drives containing the original animation.

One imdb post sums it up nicely, actually.

It's a front for money laundering.

One group (let's call them Group A) gives dirty money to "investors" who are apart of "Group A's" scam, they then invest it into the film by paying a shell "animation" company who is ALSO apart of "Group A". The animation company can't release some *beep* looking movie because people would wonder where the 65 mil went. So they instead "work" on the film for 3 years doing diddly squat, then say their hard drives were stolen. They then create footage a college kid could have made on his mac and then short sale the footage. Meanwhile that 65 mil is now taxed and clean and no one is the wiser. Add in some C list celebrities and the IRS happy to get a check.

Or maybe someone really did break into an animation company and steal their movie.. that the thieves could never sell to anyone.. rendering their robbery completely pointless and risking prison time for nothing. Yep, that sure happened.

Makes sense, tbh.
