Yes to be fair Thanos has the infinity gauntlet in that one but he also had turned off the bulk of the Gauntlet's power to give the Hero's a fighting chance in order to impress death

if Thanos can die by getting gutted....then wolverine can kill him , he did get him....but the gauntlet...then rubber limbs then..lol wtf cyke has a cube on his head! Make no mistake it was the gauntlet that did that shit just like when hulk was face mauling him but then got shrunk and thor fucked his stomach up and was about to pound his head into the ground but got turned to glass.

Out of everyone that day unless you count cloak putting him in the dark dimension, wolverine put the "killing" blow on him ....i guess it could work if you consider annihilation. Thanos is just so indestructible though.

He literally took advantage of a fuck up. He's like the comic book version of a bad guy wrestler who got knocked down by his opponent, only for his opponent to get jumped and taken out by another guy he's feuding with, and then he sneaks over to get the pin as the crowd boos

who beat doom reed and strange?

all I remember about the aoa are all the different covers. I think my brother had a gold foil one

The idea of age of apocalypse was that Xavier's son with shitty hair went back in time to kill Magneto but ended up killing Xavier accidentally because they were still friends. Apocalypse presumably took over the world before Reed, Doom, and Strange were factors

Doom was part of the High Council of humans based in Europe I believe. The Fantastic Four never got their powers, and they died in various ways. I think Sue and Ben were part of the human council too.

while it's true that apocalypse got lucky with AoA with Xavier dead and most of the rest of the non-mutant heroes nonexistant, Apocalypse DOES have a legitimate claim to conquering the world in the year 4000 or so (Cable's future), and he held it for a very, very long time.

not exactly.

Legion appearing when he did, and killing Xavier attracted the Attention of Apocalypse, and caused him to emerge ten years earlier than he did in mainstream continuity. Apocalypse has a thing for genetic supremacy and was waiting for powerful mutants to appear before starting his "survival of the fittest" campaign. TOO early, and there wouldn't be any mutants around who would qualify as "fit to survive."

That ten year period is basically the period when ALL superhumans exploded in the population, and Apocalypse jumping the gun meant that just about all of the non mutant heroes who could have stopped him were never created, and many of the mutant heroes who could were never recruited by Xavier, but instead by Apocalypse himself.

I'm not entirely sure about that. that whole debate gets into a "who is smarter" argument, and i'm not sure it's all that clear cut between Ultron #XX and Brainiac.

edit: that one is actually a pretty good "Vs" fight, since both are known but not THAT well known, and there's a ton of appearances to pull from.

Eh, by the year 4000 apocalypse had grown so powerful he was burning out host bodies almost immediately. Stryfe being a clone meant he wasn't a suitable replacement. When Cyclops, Jean, and a young cable fought that apocalypse his host body was burned out and simply discorporated. They didn't kill an apocalypse in his prime, and were on the run from him for 12 years before that.

Executioners song was a similar deal. Apocalypse had been killed on the moon by a combination of cyclops, jean, and cable linking their powers together (after tanking the combined powers of the inhumans including black bolt plus X-factor without damage) and hadn't fully regenerated a new body yet. Apocalypse was literally falling apart and could barely stand, and STILL owned a team of X-men just to show he could.

Apocalypse's body was literally falling to pieces in that arc because his regeneration was interrupted. Still took out six X-men in under a minute, including colossus and archangel but chose not to kill them. Edit: this is probably the point where Apocalypse's original body was completely "done" and they went to the "Apocalypse is using host bodies" thing right after that. Every incarnation of apocalypse since this has been nowhere near as powerful as the X-factor version.

it's a strange retcon that doesn't really make all that much sense. Apocalypse is a mutant shapeshifter with a techno-organic infection using celestial technology to amp himself.

this is ok and all, but how this turns into apocalypse being some kind of entity like the phoenix or uni-power that needs host bodies to contain it (cyclops and phoenix points this out) is confusing and nonsensical.
