The original question was about the GUI. The operating system for the ST was called The Operating System (TOS). The ST used a version of Graphics Environment Manager (GEM) for the GUI. GEM was first released for DOS in early 1985 and Atari licensed GEM and ported it to 68000/TOS and it launched with the 520ST in 1985 as well.the ST’s was called ‘TOS’ lol
