Snippet: Over in Japan this week, Marvelous Entertainment took the wraps off Followars, a game which (if all goes well) will be the first from a Japanese outfit to come out on Apple's upcoming iPad device.
A casual social game, Followars lets you construct an RPG-style fighter based off your Twitter account, with stats like hit points and agility automatically generated by number of tweets and so forth. You and up to three people you follow can band together to form parties, which can clash against rival groups onscreen using a very simple battle system.

LovingSteam said:But $15? That really is too high IMHO. However, I am sure as time goes on prices will go down. I am not against spending $15 on an iPad game but as far as I know, the Mirrors Edge one is just a port of the iPhone version. Is it not?
Edit: I will have to see it in motion.

Seems all of EA's games will be $14.95 for the iPad versionakmcbroom said:Wow, what is wrong with Dev's thinking this is ok?
$15 is to much for a side scrolling Mirrors Edge, or a game that is almost 15 years old.
Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for Saturday and my iPad to arrive, but the prices on some of this software is getting ridiculous.

So what. Vote with your wallets. I've spent more time on some $4 iPhone games than I've spent on some $120 (nz) games.
Prices will come down in time. That said, Civilization on the iPad for $15 ? Thats not a rip off.
Release Date: November 11, 2008
Amazing.

What game is this?
mrkgoo said:I thought so at first too, but I might actually like it. Point-and-click adventures have so much potential.
It should be less cumbersome than using a laptop or a netbook, which to me is the point of using this as a bridge device between that market and the iPhone/iPod Touch.Odrion said:I can't imagine playing with the iPad is not going to be cumbersome.

That's cool considering I don't have that one yet. At this point I think it's safe to assume that any developer who likes money will probably try to port over existing iPhone property.McBacon said:

When I'm sitting in a lounge chair, on the couch, or in a moving vehicle, I don't want to use any of those things. Mind you, I'm not saying that it won't function, but I am saying that lying on the couch with a lap tray resting somewhere on top of me is not the epitome of "not cumbersome" in my book.wayward archer said:Using a laptop or netbook to play games these days has gotten just as easy as playing on a computer or console if you have a decent optical mouse and a good lap tray (or just sit it on a table).
There was a game called Palm Heroes for the iPhone, which could really benefit from a larger screen, as I thought it was a pretty neat ripoff of HoMM, but difficult to control.Bog said:Desperately needs some HOMM.
Can the iPhone/Touch "talk" directly to the iPad without having to go through a wifi router?McBacon said:Scrabble for iPad
Will launch alongside a free iPhone/iPod Touch app that gives you a tile rack
That you flick onto the iPad
This is the best anything ever
