there was one cause for concern in the video - when he holds his finger for a "right click" it looks like windows 7/vista tablet interface (sweeping circle)

To be fair, I see that little X thing on a lot of websites nowadays and I think you can click anywhere and it closes.mrkgoo said:And a bunch for other inconsistencies. Like the little x for closing popups in the right in the first video (Macs nearly always use the left), and the second, it;s on the left (and in one instance, he taps the popup and it closes without using the x).

Problem is that I don't think you could get that kind of response on a slow-ass 3G connection.....probably not even Wifi. It'd have to be an app that's already loaded onto the phone, not a frontend for an online store that's downloading pictures and data in real time.Liu Kang Baking A Pie said:Even though it's fake, that video does a really good job of showing how fucking good this could be. For one thing, you're crazy if you think that could have been done in Flash years ago.mrklaw said:interaction I can understand, but response? wouldn't be any different from a laptop - you're dependent on your connection. If its cached for performance that means an app. Perhaps apps are more likely if its an iphone-based system though
edit: just watched the video. Just looks like a nice flash based website that'd run on any laptop.
I think I'm annoyed by this for one simple reason - So far I've seen nothing that couldn't be done on a PC via a web browser. Assuming these kinds of things are real - why has it taken until now for companies to start looking at presenting their media/stores in new and more interactive ways, why haven't they been doing it for years now?

I have a little faith than that. Hell my iPhone already does more than half of the stuff I needed my laptop for.BrandNew said:We won't know until Wednesday, but I would rather keep my MBP than rely on an unproven product to substitute all of my actions on my laptop.
We pretty much know that this thing is ARM powered. So the answer is no, both hardware power wise and software wise.Gary Whitta said:Another speculative question: is it possible this thing will have enough functionality that I can flat-out replace my existing MacBook Pro with it?
