I couldve sworn I just heard the Air Raid siren while sitting at my computer. :lol

I need sleep.

LOL I actually dreamt about the game:lol. Dreaming about a game really, really sucks:lol.

Can someone explain how the "call out" stuff works?

I was in the middle of a map on land and my character was screaming "enemy boat" and crap... Is that a glitch or what? I used to think it was when you're exchanging gunshots or pointing directly at an enemy but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Few corrections/changes, if possible:

- When Scoreboard is popped up, it should not stop you from running or doing whatever you were doing.
- Ability to create your own squad or able to see who is teaming up with whom. It's a pain in the ass when there are two or more squads with space yet it always forces you to team up with the first choice. I want to team up with fellow GAF members but it always puts me with some random nobody.
- Ability to pop up the entire map instead of a small blip in the bottom. If there is a way, please let me know for I couldn't find one.
- Crosshair while running is the same as crosshair with ironsight. It kills the purpose of using ironsight and provides alot of running and gunning. Atleast expand the crosshair when a player is running without using ironsight and lower the accuracy when not using ironsight.
- When you change view in jeep or any fixed gun, the crosshair disappears. Please allow us to use the crosshair for it's annoying being in first-person while the other person is driving like a fucking maniac.
- Maybe it's just me but either the sniper's not accurate enough or it doesn't have one-hit-headshot kill.
- When I am flying an airplane and I deploy a bomb, I don't see it at all when flying in third-person... yet when I'm on the ground and NOT flying an airplane, I can see it. What's up with that?
- When I accept an invite, why is it that It doesn't automatically squad me up with that player or force me to be in the same team if both teams have the same player? I hate being invited only to face who invited me...
- No offense but every map is exactly the same! Yes, I know these are classic battlefield maps but I remember them being distinguishably different. Now, they are all palm trees and hills. Day/Night variations would be awesome/nice addition to the game.
- Lack of spectating after dying is annoying. Forcing you to wait for the spawn to complete to go to options menu is far more annoying. When the match ends, forcing you to wait for the scoreboard and the next map to load up before you can quit is REALLY annoying. This can be fixed very easily. Please fix this!

Sniper IS a one shot headshot kill. You'll know you got a headshot thanks to the little Scope icon next your weapon kill console message and you get +5 bonus points for a headshot. And yes, unless they're standing still, lead your shots.

Fucking hell now two nights in a row it has gone down here at night, fucks sake I wait all day to play it and the minute I get home I get a tweet saying your're doing maintenance.

RAAAAAGE.

The GAF 1943 gamertag is full so if anyone wants to add me my Gamertag is the same as my GAF username.

Absolutely! I think we are actually friends already. ;)

I think you're on mine as well.

Anybody on PSN that wants to play can send me a friend request and just note you're from GAF. Only played a few minutes since a friend was over last night and wanted to play a game with co-op so popped in Resistance 2 for the first time in a while.

First time playing today, seems like they finally threw enough servers at the 360 version to clear it up.

Also seems like they fixed a couple bugs during the maintenance. Hope they can do a few more on little misc things. There's nothing huge just some squad annoyances on both versions atm.

I kind of want the plane controls to be up/down on the left stick, rolling left/right on the right stick. It seems like from the controller map in the game that this is the case, where it says yaw (i figure that means up/down) is on the left stick. When I'm playing, the right stick is both rolling left/right and up/down.

It feels essentially as if the right stick is acting like a flightstick. Is that the case?

I noticed that even without FF people are finding ways to get you out of AA guns and so forth. Last night a couple times fellow teammates would throw a grenade at you while you were in an AA. I had no idea anyone was behind me and you hear the "GRENADE" yell out and I assumed it was an enemy grenade. As I jump out of the AA gun a teammate jumps right in since he is the one who threw it.

So my question to DICE.. why do friendly grenades get called out? People are already abusing this...

So, is it me, or do vehicles not kill people? That seems like a weird idea. I drove over a guy twice in a jeep and he just took it. Didn't even fall down.

Also, grenades/anything that should have splash damage seem absolutely pitiful. Is it just a balancing thing? Because If I shoot some guys with a high explosive cannon they should die.

That said it was a lot of fun, and I'll definitely get the full version.

Is anyone currently playing? Because I must have tried a thousand times over the last couple days and I always get "failed to connect to ea online." I haven't gotten past it once.

You can kill people by running them over, works every time. If you dont hit them dead on with some momentum though in a jeep it just clips them and removes a chunk of health.

I aint so good with the grenades, but I've seen plenty of people who are. I yearn to go back to RTCWolfenstein grenades, I was like a god with those.

mee too. I really want this game, but won't pony up the money until I know I can play it. I just need to know if its from my end or EA end that won't let me play. reading about how much fun this game is also sucks when I can't play it!!!

edit: someone posted I need to register my gamertag with EA to be able to play? is this true? and where do I do this? can't find it on EAs site!

Did you make an EA account and link it to your XBL/PSN?

It might have been a connection issue, but the connection seemed fine. I hit him full speed the first time and saw the model just pass through the jeep and me. The second time was, admittedly, slower because I had to circle round for a second pass, but I'm pretty sure it was dead on too. This is on PS3. Just a weird thing. Maybe it just glitched. I'll try again later.

With the grenades it seems that you have to basically hit dead on whatever you're shooting at to have any effect, which is just not what I was expecting.

Still, cool game. The destructibility really adds something to they way a match plays out.

Has the 360 version stabilized any since last night? I didn't have to try as many times to get in last night so I am hoping they improved even more last night.

where on the EA site?

On the main EA site, on the bottom floating bar. Register an account, then go into it and click on persona and type in a XBL or PSN account name.

They really need to make this more clear because not everyone has played one of the other EA games that does it for you.

Worked great for me tonight. Played for three hours or so with a friend in squad play.

Been playing on PSN - really fun so far. Controls are great just like Bad Company. Still learning these maps as Bad Company was my first Battlefield game.

PSn: dkeane
I won't be back until Sunday but I'll be playing all day then.

Really? You are under the impression that your enemy would call out "Grenade!" when they throw it at you? I feel they might be more effective if you just threw it and didn't let the other guy know.

I assume they are doing it like the movies, where you throw a grenade and alert your friendlies. Sort of like "fire in the hole".

I suppose "Grenade!" could either mean, "Hey guys, there is a grenade over there, watch out!" or "Hey guys, check out this grenade I have. I'm gonna throw it at the bad guys."

that worked! EA is going to lose so much in sales, becuase dummies like me would not know to do this. thank you .

Update#7 to OP: With servers catching up to capacity needs we were able to confirm an issue other than capacity is affecting playing with friends. We are aggressively working on this to have it fixed ASAP and agree with comments that not being able to play with friends is unacceptable making it very important to fix. It is very unlikely to be client side and needs fixing within our network infrastructure.

We are also working on the issue some have with your existing account not logging into EA Online and thinking it doesn't exist. A possible workout will we sort out a proper fix is log into an EA game or Demo to help resort your login. It should never ask for the login if you have an EA account persona for your PSN ID or Xbox 360 Gamertag.

I was wondering if this was the case, hope it doesn't take too long to resolve.

The EA login.....what / why / is it??

I thought it would be optional, but I had to put in a password (same as my PSN..) does that mean my EA name is my PSN name? and what exactly does this extra login get me?

nothing.

The login is the same as your email, and you might use the same password for a lot of things.

When I first played, the game automatically logged me in without even prompting me. I guess it was because my PSN and EA login were linked when I was playing Fight Night, now it appears on my end as if it were one seemless id.

I wouldn't have even known that I was logging into EA and not PSN if it weren't for the problems other users have had. For the few cases it is seemless, I'm sure there are dozens of people for which this process isn't working at all.

Game is too boring. Maps that size (demo) need a few more people.

Maybe there is just something wrong with the games you are joining.

All the ones I have joined have 24 players (PS3) and that feels like it is just right.

Reason no #1 why public betas should be mandatory.

Hopefully MW 2 doesn't let its success go to its head and not do a public beta.
CoD4 had a Beta and was still a mess when it first came out. :lol

Beta's are all well and good, but I don't think there's anything that can prepare you for opening the floodgates, really.

Played for a couple of hours last night - took a few tries to get in but once the game started it was fairly stable without too much lag. I made the mistake of quiting my session and trying to join another GAFer's game and wasn't able to connect to a server again.

Wow do I suck. Took about 2 full games to get anywhere close to a 1 for 1 death to kill count. Checked my stats after I got kicked and I think I was at about 6% accuracy - yikes!

Rifle is definatley the best class. Can pick players off at a pretty good distance and accuracy is decent. Machine gun dude seems kind of useless - not accurate at long range and his bazzoka takes about 3 shots to kill a tank. I am usually dead after 2 and find it's best just to run and hide. Sniper could be fun but I find the zoomed mode on all the guns hard to use.

EDIT: Watched some youtube of 1943 (slow day at work) and I take back what I said on the machine gun class. Apparently it's just me that sucks...

Shooting down planes with Flak guns is pretty fun and surprisingly easy. I suck at flying but those who are good at it have a huge advantage. I was killed half a dozen times by planes blowing up my boat as I try to get shore at the begining of a match. Tanks and Jeeps control well and are fun to use. Draw distance and range of weapons is insane. It's fun to sit way back in a tank and just shell the hell out of an occupied town.

Overall it was a pretty good time - definately worth the $15. Once the servers are fixed I can see spending a bunch of time playing this game.

It generated so much additional hype, of course there will be a beta for it, on IW's preferred platform. It's not like they're doing it for bug testing as the launch of CoD4 showed with it's problems online.

Sniping in 1943 suffers directly from how it functions in BC. There are no center mass one-shot kills, which is ridiculous. Only 1-shot headshots, which sucks considering the amount of lag this game has going on affecting it's hit detection. But this is a trickle down from BC, where a .50cal slug to the chest takes off 90hp, then you have the overly long bolt action chambering and by then the guy is gone by time you pull up the scope again. Only way sniping is able to be effective in BC was taking like the SVU and pulling the trigger three times when you put the reticle over them. Can't do that here.

While I agree launching an online game will always induce problems I would argue the COD 4 launch would have been ever worse without a beta. These betas needs to become even more real betas and not just serve as a form of marketing only or as a pre-order bonus demo.

I just wiped out almost the entire enemy side with one awesome flank. They were all camped up in a bunker, for whatever stupid reason. So when I flanked around them and saw the opportunity I let off a shot with the grenade launcher which took out like 3-4 people, then waited for the remaining survivors stumbled out and greeted them with a follow up grenade. I swear I had like 8 kills prior, then afterward I had 15. :lol

Oh how I wish there were replays. This game is great

I wish there was a killcam. Often you die out of nowhere and its a bit frustrating to die and not see why. And that info text on the screen is up for a very short amount of time.

Unless IW switches over to dedicated servers for MW2, this won't be an issue. COD4 and WaW are using P2P.

No center of mass one-shots is always ridiculous. The sniper is fairly useless without them.

It's like taking away the AWP in CS and only leaving the Scout. It wouldn't even be used in matches at all, since an M4A1 or AK47 can just as easily headshot from across the map.

Anyways, I haven't gotten the game yet, but despite the rough launch, I'm impressed with how DICE is handling it. They are very responsive to the community, and seem very intent on fixing the problem. Many developers go AWOL when shit like this happens.

I hear you that this specific server issue won't be the problem but there will still be tons of problems with whatever system they have chosen. There always will be with online games. In house testing just doesn't get the game done for online games.

I think the camera spins you around so you are facing the direction of the player that killed you. Depending on where your body falls you may or may not be able to see them.

kind of felt like it needs 32 players personally. In Warhawk maps that size have a lot more vehicles easily accessible. Here often I'm running around with no enemies around for quite a bit.

This is true. There always could be weird issues with matchmaking or the like. I just ment that not having enough open slots for players because they didn't stand up enough servers shouldn't be an issue.
