strange_booj said:Anyone know how the voice chat will work? Are you forced to be in a squad to talk to your teamates? Or is it open for the whole team?
Sounds like the same system thenCaspel said:I didn't hear a soul all night during my sessions. Granted, I never joined any squads, but no lobby system was provided to chat with players on the last map we played on.
How does that work then? If you're in a squad you talk to them, if you're not you talk to all the people on your team that aren't in a squad?GK86 said:It's both Squad and Open chat.

GK86 said:Pretty much.
Squad chat- You could only talk to the other members in their squad(4 people to a squad).
Open chat- Anyone who isn't.
If you are in a squad, and are the squad leader, you could issue simple orders like, attack/defend this point. And you have the added option of spawning near the squad leader.

Stuff like Gears of War made me hate any online centric achievements/trophies where to had to do things a certain way with a certain gun
This. Call of Duty series does it right.Keyser Soze said:Best to have easy trophies than to have people constantly playing the game in strange ways to try and get the trophies...

Yep, this is what I like too.Xater said:Totally agree. I also like tophies/achievement which you will get eventually just by playing the game. But don't make it too ridiculous like playing 10000 games or something like that.
I'm nervous about this as well. If there is add-on content, I hope it is bundled together and for a reasonable price. Like some new guns and 2 new maps for 400 pts.Mojo said:Any easy achievements are good achievements in my book
I'm just a bit worried about DLC though. I want this because it's a $15 game, don't want it to end up being a $30-$40 game through add-ons.

That's probably one of my biggest draws. Also, it being a Battlefield game doesn't hurt either.MMaRsu said:Why would it be though.. I mean couldn't they live together? I already know I'm going to love this, just like Neckbeard said, it's going to be awesome just having a great shooter on your HDD with no fucking around with discs and shit. Just jump in ( heh ) and shoot some guys!
ONE MORE DAY WOOHOO

Neckbeard69 said:Holy crap, are we still living in a world without BF1943?
Sheesh! Make time go faster!
Raiden said:Well im excited, i really loved BF 2 on PC, and never played this, i do know Wake island from the BF 2 port.
Awesomesauce.
MMaRsu said:What system are you getting it on?
Rapping Granny said:Definitely picking this up, Stopped with KZ2 after the shitty patches, and need a new shooter until MW2.
For the love of god, give us the option to toggle sprint, Bad Company almost broke my analogue sticks because of this.
Foil said:I've got about $30 on my PSN account right now so I'll probably pick this up after I see some impressions. I enjoyed Bad Company.
Almost? You're lucky. My left analog stick is always tilting up now. Both Killzone 2 and COD4's sprinting ruined it. In order to keep my character still I have to slightly tilt it down otherwise it's always moving forward.

dem said:Is this a real battlefield (like 1942 or battlefield 2) or a shit battlefield (bad company or 2142)?
I would rank my favorite Battlefield games as follows: Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company. Since this game is using the Frostbite engine that is used in BF:BC, it certainly changes the game a lot compared to 1942. Add to that the lack of a medic and only three classes to choose from, it (1943) is definitely different. But I would not call it shitty.dem said:Is this a real battlefield (like 1942 or battlefield 2) or a shit battlefield (bad company or 2142)?
dem said:Nevermind
"There are a few concessions to the design that DICE has made to make the game more accessible to a wider audience. First, each weapon has unlimited ammo. You'll still need to reload, but you won't have to resupply while in the middle of the game. Second, and more significant, players' health will now slowly regenerate during combat. This change will definitely decrease respawns and might actually encourage retreats from battle. It also means there's no more need for the medic class, so it's been cut. "
shit battlefield

I get what you're saying since I couldn't stand BC. This seems to be a hybrid of the two styles meshed together.dem said:Is this a real battlefield (like 1942 or battlefield 2) or a shit battlefield (bad company or 2142)?

Because now there is no use for the awesome support classes. Sad to see them go but considering they are going for a slightly more casual feel with this one I guess it makes sense.MrCompletely said:You mean no dolphin diving and less disadvantageous situations?
Battlefield found it's balance between realism and fun, if you want to run out of ammo while lying in the mud, play Arma 2.
Why should I be forced into a disadvantage by running out of ammo if I'm kicking ass with my gun?
Also, for the sake of clarity, you still empty and reload clips, you just have unlimited clips.
By that logic, you should never run out of ammo in any game, which is asinine.MrCompletely said:You mean no dolphin diving and less disadvantageous situations?
