The Best Games That STILL Haven’t Been Remastered...

Max Payne 1 and 2 are getting complete remakes. There are no current plans for remasters of the original games.
No remasters needed. I was playing my OG Max Payne 1 disc on Series X this afternoon. The original Xbox versions of 1 & 2 play at 4K 60fps.

Sadly, Max Payne 3 is software locked to 30fps.

Terrible how?? There is 4k+/60+ fps and everything.
Weird and slow audio, and HUGE graphical bugs. I had the fog bug too but this one is normal, thing is I couldn't fix it for the life of me. Tried EVERYTHING for hours but no luck.
Maybe it's because I'm on an ultrawide IDK but yeah, don't think it's crazy to ask for a remaster.

I'm still quite made about the cancelation of the remake btw, really wanted to play this again and funnily enough it was announced a few days after I tried to play SoT, so I was like DAMN it's a sign :D

Syndicate / Syndicate Wars
Thief (looking class studios original)
Lemmings 1/2
God Hand
Asura's Wrath
Die Hard Arcade
The Story of Thor (otherwise known as Beyond Oasis)

I'd be much more interested in the best game that still haven't been made.
I have a dream that we stop living vicariously our past days of glory and tried to make something new.
If we really tried, we might make good stuff on par with what we did during our glory days (if that make any sense).

Unfortunately as long as non creative types have the last word and the creative types think it is their duty to bring into their stories stupid politics they don't even fully understand themselves, i fear my dream won't ever be fullfilled.

Yeah The Darkness was a really cool game, and def deserving of a remaster. I'll throw Condemned: Criminal Origins and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem out there as well.

Technically MGS was remade with Twin Snakes on Gamecube.

Brave Fencer Musashi (PS1)
Folklore (PS3)
Puppeteer (PS3)
SOCOM (PS2)
Power Stone (Dreamcast)
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen (PS1)

First thing I did, even before installing the game I checked on PCGW. Asked on the Discord too but not luck. I tried pretty much all I could, I even bought the game on Steam to try with this version (as I owned it only on Ubi Launcher), same results.
Btw I couldn't get the first Splinter Cell to properly work too, so a remaster (since I have no hope in the remake) would be cool. I know that game worked in 2018 since I played it again at that time, but not anymore :(

In no particular order:

Silent Hill
Xenosaga
Crisis Zone
Virtual On
Die Hard Arcade
Megaman Legends
Xanadu Next
Killzone 2
Army of Two
Ratchet and Clank Future Crack In Time
Bloodborne

Ctrl + F

Command & Conquer -> 0 matches
Freelancer -> 0 matches
Vagrant Story -> 0 matches
Phantasy Star IV -> 0 matches

worthless list, lmao.

Freespace 1-2
Command and Conquer RA2 and Generals
Legend of the Dragon
Xenogears
Rock and Roll Racing
Tourist Trophy
Starsiege Tribes
Dinocrisis 1 and 2.
God Hand
That Capcom Gladiator game from PS2 that i forgot the name.
Front Mission 4 and 5

MGS1 already got a remake.

Devil May Cry 3 would be the one I want most as a remake that is. The combat and music were phenomenal and I'd love to see them do even more with it. Nevan was an amazing weapon that hasn't returned to the series and the Cerberus, Beowulf, and Vergil boss themes are among the best and made those fights so epic.

The PS2 and OG Xbox ports are both inferior to the PC originals in many ways, though. Especially Max Payne 2 on consoles. The PC version of Max Payne 2 runs on Remedy's own MaxFX engine, the PS2 and Xbox ports were honestly remade using Criterion's Renderware engine. While the OG XBox and PS2 ports still look pretty good overall. They do feel different from the original PC port. Also, all of the PC maps for the first two games are hacked up, missing sections, cut in two in some cases for loading reasons.

Max Payne 2 isn't particularly hard to get running on a modern PC. But Max Payne 1 is broken in many ways, and has an enemy scaling bug that literally ramps up enemy AI after a couple quick saves and quick loads. The bullet time physics can be broken.

The original PC versions of Max Payne 1 and 2 were honestly ported to iOS and Android quite a while ago. Those were really faithful ports to the PC versions, and had a few additional lighting effects.
