Can you guys confirm me that the Achievements unlock even if you play at the Easy level?

So much humor? I didn't laugh at the "ROFL - Get up off the floor" joke, I thought it was...kind of lame.
Actual question for everyone here: was the NES version serious or...?
Because this game is like a parody of action games, with those LOL and ROFLs ... i don't know if the NES version was this stupid on the dialogues, but i'm sure it didn't have LOL and things like that. :lol

I see it more as Capcom being the creepy uncle that buys you beer and texts you at 2am.

Luckily he's locked up now.

I started on Normal, but does the game end up bogging down to easy if you die too much?

I noticed that those blocks mentioned that were used for easy in Area 6...

OH MY GOODNESS< does this game look Freaking kick ass or what? Wow..im suprised how freak'n nice an old school game can look redone on xbox 360 hardware. Just imagine playing other old school games redone visually..Sonic? Oh my

I absolutely love the smoke effects after you pop off rounds with your gun...oh so pretty, hell the entire game is impressive visually, fuck me!!

Awesome game. I bought it without hesitation after briefly trying to demo.

This is the first time I have ever bought three XBLA titles in a row... Braid and this are really some extremely quality products.

Just beat it. Does anyone know where some weapon upgrades are? I'm missing
the grenades, plasma rifle, shotgun, and Joe's Machine Gun
upgrades.

Thanks, good to hear that.
Those blocks Rlan is talking about suck anyway, i just started Easy mode in order to beat the enemies without too much frustration, but i wanted the actual action gameplay just like in Normal mode :(

Another thing i don't get is... are the actual leaderboards linked?
Like, if i play Easy i get on the leaderboards with those who played Hard... ?
It seems like that, but i didn't pay the Leaderboards a lot of attention.

By the way, download that "secret" trailer you get once you buy BC: Rearmed... it's awesome! [it's about the new Bionic Commando 3d]

The NES version was so horribly Engrished that it ended up being a hilarious train wreck. This time they did it on purpose :)

I'm thinking of grabbing this from the US store using Entropay. I just have a question though, when they update the game with Trophies, what are the chances the Trophies are compatible with my PAL account?

Ah, i see :D
That happened a lot with old NES games, but to do a remake with new stupid dialogues... :lol

It's not game-breaking, but the 360 controller generally sucks at diagonals.
Yes, but just like the DS Lite sucks at diagonals, you'll eventually learn how to deal with that Dpad... in these weeks every time i play with the 360 i use the Dpad [Soul Calibur 4, Braid, now BC Rearmed] ... it still sucks, but i got a lot better. :p

Luckily you don't need to use diagonals on this game. The default for the arm is diagonal without any direction.

Just played the JPN demo on my PS3. Freakin awesome and I cant wait until tomorrow when this goes up onto the American PSN. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Capcom for doing this remake the RIGHT way!

im just curious, im not trying to criticize the game or anything, I think its fucking awesome actually, especially the music. This shit is blistering hard though, which is also good, can't wait to master it and feel like a validated man-boy. Its crazy this game is only 10 dollars.

Yeah this is crazy hard. I think the thing I have the most problem with, funny enough, is just swinging around and catching things. I can't seem to get the timing down pat on grappling, but I had a bit of an off morning today so maybe tomorrow will bring new hope.

can i buy just the soundtrack? lol

Yeah I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the music here! Fantastic retro mix!

Im surprised how well it works. Of course they actually seem to recommend the analog through tutorials.

How do you turn the PDF manual into a normal sized booklet? Its actually nicely done.

So are all the reviews basically reviewing the XBLA version so far? I don't want the 360 version's faults effecting my buying decision on PS3. :(

There are no faults. Both games are the same except for some minor visual differences.

Controller preference and maybe 3d version system of choice are all that matters.

Shadows on the 360 version are horrendous

nuh uh.

speaking about this, only reason why i'm buying ps3 version over 360 is because of the psp functionality. can anyone confirm or deny how this works? i mean, will i just be able to play the game via remote play or will it be like a ps1 title where i can put the game on my memory stick and play it?

remote play only.

and honestly, remote play is unsuitable for playing games. the lag even at 100% signal strength is just too much.

You're on my leaderboards, and I have the US version. You sure you can't compare?
Yep. This is really messed up.
I checked on the website to get a little bit more info, maybe:

US version:
live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/Achievements/ViewAchievementDetails.aspx?tid=%09%5d%3bhe)j3%03e4X6z-17&compareTo=jonnyram
JP version:
live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/Achievements/ViewAchievementDetails.aspx?tid=%09%5d%3bhe)j2ws&compareTo=jonnyram

You see what I'm getting at? :(

so, for those that already completed it, how long did iy last? How many total challenge stages are there?

FUCK WOW @ the new Bionic Commando trailer. I'm sold.

Is Grin developing it too or is it a japanese team? (not that it matters. Grin's got mah respeckt.)

Thanks. 3 tracks not being for sale is kinda lame though.

You can buy these on iTunes as well. I PM'd Shard to update the OP with Soundtrack info. I think he added them.

The three bonus tracks aren't all that great. But just buy the whole album, support GRIN!

thanks for the info, i appreciate it.

might just pick it up for 360 then. i agree about the remote play lag, it's pretty terrible. i tried playing pixeljunk monsters via remote play and it wasn't the greatest experience :-\

Well GoW2 is the best looking past gen game and it runs at 60fps so...

It doesn't run at a constant 60fps. The part where screen tearing becomes ridiculously apparent is once you reach the snow-storm outdoors. The framerate drops to probably 30-40ish there, and tearing is very noticeable.

the psn version seems a bit better imo based off of the demos.

no tearing in the demo, better shadows, and it even upscales (which obviously isn't a + over the xbla version just an added bonus).

sad that they couldn't get any aa going in either version tho.

need some help on area 3:

right at the beginning, there's a large metal column that is red in the middle and has a pic of the grappling hook on it. how the hell do i get past it?

I downloaded the PSN demo first but I'll have to make sure I download the XBLA trial so I get entered into the contest.

You have to do a different area to get the power grappling hook.
