The Bionic Commando Rearmed Official Thread of SUPPPAHHHH JOE!

Saw videos of this game just recently and was impressed, just finished the demo and I'm hooked. Two quick questions though for those of you who have the game:

1. How long does it take to finish the game?
2. What is the special PS3 feature that I see mentioned everywhere?
1. Three to six hours for easy/normal, I'd estimate.
2. Remote Play and one extra Challenge Room.

I don't know if he has any new tricks compared to Hard, since I jumped straight from Normal to Super.

He can:

- Kill you in three hits
Are you SURE about that? Everything else so far has one or two hits. I guess I'm almost there myself so I'll know soon enough but I'd find it odd (yet almost understandable) that they'd cut you some slack for this part. I'm still thinking that this is only going to be beatable if I get lucky and am dealt three (or even four) laser attacks after the first missile hate.

The almost mathematical precision of this game is starting to get really frustrating, it's really out to punish you when it comes to the challenges, I'm on the last 10 and I'm feeling it. It's just crazy that everything comes down to perfect timing sometimes. These challenges are making me want to cry.

But It's like having a perfect girlfriend that cheats on you, you're going to keep coming back for more.

I have noticed that every set of challenge rooms includes precisely one in which it's EXTREMELY hard to get 5 stars. Is this real or is it just me?

Hai guys.

I'm missing 11 and 12 in the database, does anyone know where I can get these?

Also, can you get the Haxxorz achievement in Super Hard aswell as Hard?

Thanks!

Giving up on the challenges for now, they're too ridiculous.

Yeah, I'm sure. Did you get the Health Pills yet? Because after you get those, even normal soldiers kill you in 3 instead of 2 hits. The time I beat him he did his Laser attacks 3 times and only 2 missile phases. That was really lucky for me. :)

All thoses questions were answered in the thread before.

11+12:

The last two are special items that unlock additional things in the new Bionic Commando game.
Here's where you get them:

- Area 00 after collecting all 12 Yashichis
- In the last area of the Albatross before the outdoor boss area, there is one last electricity switch on the top floor that is horizontal. After you pull it, backtrack to the door in the same area and go to the end of the corridor left to it. There it is.

Yes, you can get Haxorz on Super Hard.

I played Versus Multiplayer and co-op for the first time yesterday and it was awesome. I played the first level with my sister and she grasped the controls pretty quickly, and the way you have to really cooperate to beat the boss was fucking fun. I think I'll play through it again with another person :)

Finally jumped in on this for PSN a few days ago. Picked the PSN version because I want the retro outfit for the next-gen game, and plan on getting that for PS3 because the multiplayer looks interesting and I wont be renewing my Live Gold sub after October.

What a solid game!

I almost went blind and mad in the second secret tunnel with the switches. My god!

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse after the
collapsing floor area on the Albatross, they throw that helicopter at me. AND THEN THE SECOND BOSS AFTER THAT WHAT THE FUCK

Knowing my luck there's some other super hellish fuckstick waiting to violate me if I can ever get past it.

Yet... I love this game.

Finished the game a couple of minutes ago. The last level was fucking sweet except the
trap doors part. That one gave me a fucking headache.
. Also, the
head exploding part was super-awesome, lol.

I'd say it's the best PSN game to date.

From the few that I played, definitely.
I wouldn't mind if trophies weren't retroactive and I had to play through it again. I will anyway at some point in the near future.

I don't think I will ever finish this game. I'm finding
The Albatross
far too difficult for me to handle. I get through the first three areas with ease... honestly, I could do it with my eyes closed at this point. But once I get outside, I die in seconds. And now I'm reading that there are
multiple bosses
. Yeah, no way in hell am I beating this. :(

The only reasonable way to finish that mission is to stock up on 1up's. Finish of all the topdown missions/trucks (grab all 1up's you can find on those stages), then visit every FSA base and pick the 1up's there. The only really hard parts of the last mission are
the outside area as you said and the Leader boss fight. The second boss you meet is easy as shit, so don't worry about that part.
Good luck! I lost 5-6 extra lives my first time around the mission.

Second best after Eden, of course! :)

Here is my advice to people getting stuck on the Albatross.

1) Farm 1-ups in various areas. Don't go into the level with less than 9 lives. There's some weird anti-farming logic in there though so you have to go to new areas to get more lives once you get past 3 or 4. I actually managed to get up to 12 lives while doing the albatross with all the 1ups in there.

2) There's a small trick you can exploit on the trap door parts. You can stand right between two trap doors and never fall, your body will keep shifting back and forth, keeping one foot on a trap door at all times (this is on the PS3 version, I haven't tested it on other versions).

The only glaring flaw I see with the game is that outdoor trap door part at the end. It either should have been the first part of the level, or your destination should have been clear at the outside of each segment. Absolute lamest part of the game is the trap door segment where you have to fall onto a platform beneath you ya can't even see.

The trap door section is nowhere NEAR as bad as it seems. If you watch, it's all pattern based. As long as you keep moving you should be fine. They give you plenty of places to take a break along the way as well. It looks far more tricky than it really is.

THE NIGHTMARE IS FINALLY OVER!

Two sets of 16 lives it took me. The missiles kill you in TWO hits by the way, VERY RARELY in three for some reason. The laser attack, the one time I was hit with it at full life it took me to a sliver left and the bastard cornered me THREE TIMES with it, I had no choice but to die in those cases. Anyway, I managed (somehow) to do it with FOUR missile rounds and one laser round.

Beat it in co-op today finally. Normal. The final stage is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It's totally possible to get to the end without losing a single life. Awesome awesome game. :D

Good job! I'm 100% sure it took 3 missiles to kill me, but whatever.

I'd love to play online multiplayer against you. :]
Maybe someday. :lol

Challenge 53 - Torture, how do you do it?

I just took about 20 deaths from two missiles. Maybe it's different from the Xbox 360 and PS3 version? It wouldn't make sense, but you never know. I did die from three missiles a handful of times, not sure what was different then though.

What? Area 12 is probably the easiest area in the game.

Haha, it's just five points?

Oh brother

I got all the way to the end of Area A last night, beat the final boss and has very little health left. So the part starts where the Albatross is collapsing and all of a sudden the other fucking Bionic Commando guy comes and I have to battle him. He charges at me, I get off like 2 seconds of shots with the machine gun and.....dead. I was so fucking pissed. I haven't got that mad at a game in a while.

I was in the same situation,but. . .

Instead of fighting him I said "FUCK THIS" and kept running for it and was able to still escape, thankfully!:lol

Same point for me, but its because I initially tried running to the edge after the Final Boss and not down the lift again, so I got a CRASH MISSION FAILED when
fighting Bionic Brottthheerrrrrrr
and the time ran out.

Had to put it down for the night because after trying again,
Hitler-inna-Jet started using the fucking almost undodgeable Jet Laser move most turns instead of the nice and easy missiles,
so I died. Fuck You, game!!

Exactly. Putting it at the start of the level would've eased so much of the frustration without ruining the challenge. Everything that leads up to that section is a breeze but is very time consuming, making repeated retries excruciating.

Noob here...need help!

How the hell do you get the drop on people in this game (playing on hard)?

As soon as I start to climb up to a platform the guy knows I'm coming up and shoots me as soon as I get to his level (even on stage 1)!

How am I supposed to climb up and shoot him without being shot first?

Also...what do and don't you lose when you get a game over?

You don't lose anything when getting Mission Failed, the only thing that happens is that the trucks on the world map respawn.

praise Jesus! I thought you had to beat the game in a straight shot!

Justin Dailey said:

If so, it would've been the hardest game ever. Anyway, don't worry about getting Mission Failed's. You get to restart the Area, and your 1up's will be replenished to the standard amount (3 of them). And then you can harvest more from the topdown/truck missions.

There, wrapped the game up this morning. Completely great game for a bargain price beyond belief. Is going to be very weird if I do buy Megaman 9 considering BC Rearmed will be a stark reminder of "what could have been" for the exact same price..

I'm not gonna even try to complete all the Challenge Rooms. They are borderline designed by obsessive compulsives with some of the accuracy needed. I have a feeling if I tried, that there is a good chance i would actually start crying tears of piss and blood.

How do you use the classic costume? I can't find it......also. I've blocked well over a hundred shots with my grappleing hook and still havent gotten the medal for it.....somethings wrong.

You're wearing the classic costume already. You've simply unlocked it for the new 3D BC game. As for blocking bullets, it doesn't count it if you do it in a truck level.

Ok, so it's for the new game when it comes out. I did the bullet thing in level 2 I think it is, it was a sidescrolling part and no dice, I also did over a hundred on that guy who throws those hovering grenades at you....I dunno, I think my games glitched.

I was really liking this game until the last area with the trap doors, I think I'm done with this game. What's especially aggravating is that it's after the tedious 3 sections before it, at least in the challenge modes / cavern areas with cheap deaths you could restart relatively easily.

I just finished the game today for the first time (on normal) and while taking my time, in 2 hours and 17 minutes, with all secrets found. And I'm not extra awesome or anything.

If you recognize the pattern, there's really only one vaguely tricky part in the whole trap door area, and it has a pretty effective safety net below it. Careful observation + logic applied should = zero deaths. Don't give up hope!
