The Crew Beta codes has been sent, post here your impressions

Gave it a third try and it actually didn't crash and found a server! After hearing about poor driving, I have it say it wasn't bad. I was expecting Need for Speed Rivals hot garbage levels of control but it was nowhere near that level. I did put the driving controls on "sport" and not on full assist so idk how that feels. I also didn't mind the graphics.

What I did think was weird was the first thing you do in the game is drive through fields on your way to a barn with a classic car in it. I know that isn't what the game is but come on...

So you guys really don't care about exploring the world, customization?

Some of you are shutting off the game and not giving it a chance. You can skip all that story stuff after that.
The controls in a game are arguably the most important thing. Doesn't matter too Mich if it has a good story or great customization.

After adjusting them to the "forza setting" I was able to play just fine in the last beta. The story is pretty interesting but nothing to write how about. The races are fun as hell though.

Good lord the "story" is horrible so far. Why can't Ubisoft create somewhat good stories outside of Assassin's Creed? The games alright though. I wish that the world seemed more alive but I guess that wouldn't fly with the whole apparent no kill rule. Also, I'm pretty pissed that I can't road rage through Millennium Park.

Also in need of an Xbox One Beta code, the one I was given was already used. Maybe there's a few codes that work so many times that they're sending to people?

Got in on the Ps4 beta...and oh my...

The graphics are god awful. Like a HD remaster of a ps2 game...(and a bad one at that). But the idea of driving all across the US does speak to me. If only the driving was good...

The racing is incredibly weird. The handling is so off...it feels more like driving a boat.

I was genuinely excited about this game, I love open world racing games. But this game is just so bad.

ok im not the only one who felt that way

i thought it was just me that sucked at driving. the cars felt strange driving, as well as brakeing. im trying to break at a certain speed, don't know the terms that well, over and under sterring but I brake and the car isnt even trying to steer in the direction i want it go

big over world seems nice.
yup uninstall. i think the story seems cliche but seems interesting.

I'm not alone, I didn't say a word about the graphics.

Weird.

Controls handle perfectly for me, the cars have a real sense of weight, which I like. I also think the graphics look great. However the frame rate tends to skip and jump a little. I'm assuming thats down to it loading. Hopefully they fix that in the final build.

Edit: is it share play accessible or no because its a beta?

If you can make me laugh, you can have mine, just realized i had one sitting in my email. PS4 of course.

I have an Xbox One code, if anyone wants it. I really just have no interest in this and am too busy with the games I am currently playing. First come, first served.

Played the first beta and won't be playing this one. I got to the race outside of Vegas, realised that the game wasn't going to improve and uninstalled it. There was only one area I partially enjoyed and that was in the California hills. The head movement at slow speeds made me feel queasy and I have never had that playing computer games. The sooner developers of racing games stop taking story cues from the Fast and the Furious the better.

Oh BTW I have a spare PS4 code if anyone wants it.

Just downloaded it, Wtf?
I thought this was like Driveclub

Right, after playing it for a couple of hours it's definitely better than my godawful first impressions.

The city you start in is not a good representation of the graphics, it's about the worst looking place I've seen in the game so far, graphics still aren't impressive but not as bad as it first seems (probably on par with Forza Horizon 1 maybe a little better for me)

The World is HUGE, I decided to drive down to Miami and I didn't time it but it probably took me about 45 minutes. You can only quick travel to places you've been but if you find a train station or airport you can quick travel from there to any other airport/station in the map so I've checked out New York, Vegas and San Francisco.

I don't care about the story at all.

I'm getting used to the handling but it's still bad.

Takedowns have been by far my most enjoyable mission types so far

Caution! Bad driving alert!

Amanda U: We are actually still in the process of sending those codes out right now. It should come to your inbox within the next 24 hours. If you still haven't received it by then, please get back up with us and let us know.

Surprised that people are complaining about the handling, it's a bit arcade for my taste (hardcore handling) but the cars actually have a sense of weight and you will need to drive them accordingly.

Not too dissimilar to Driveclub but less twitchy. Would like to move the manual gears to buttons rather than the stick but didn't see anywhere to do so.

Completely agree. Handling is great.

Got my code earlier this afternoon for Xbox one but Haven't started it yet. Will do after watching the Super Best Friends Playthrough of Bayonetta 2.

I was offered a code, but I don't have the time to play it or write impressions so I passed. I'm looking forward to trying the full game, though.

Tried it on PS4.

- I played until after I got my first 'Street' uograde and raced Zoe (?), who is someone in the game I know somehow. The game has a story to it, you get put in prison for being accused of killing your brother, then 5 years later you're out. Anyway, onto the important stuff.

Handling.
The cars sure are weighty, perhaps too much, even for a Mustang and the 4x4 at the start drove like shit. It wasn't really much fun to drive the cars around, and it has the type of floaty handling where you never feel in control of the car, you are just holding on for dear life to see if the car falls off the road or not. There is a 350Z which probably handles sharper, but the choice was pretty much muscle (which being Detroit made sense, I suppose).

I don't know what it is about Ubisoft games, but they don't seem to want the player to have fun. The instant you drive in this, you have oncoming traffic trying to kill you, police trying to spin you out, or perfectly placed track side stuff that wants to fuck you up. Just back the fuck off for a bit will ya?

Framerate.
Shit. Sub 30 with frequent drops and tearing. WHY?

Visuals.
Looks alright, FH2 is much prettier and easier on the eyes than this, as is a generation old Burnout Paradise and Driver SF which runs at double the framerate.

So far, you drive from waypoint to waypoint getting missions, listening to characters introduce stuff and tell you about features. I would imagine driving around with your friends co-operatively could be potentially fun in this, and the map looks really huge. Who knows how much of it is worthwhile though? Can't really say for now, I just know this isn't for me.

The wait for a top tier racing game on PS4 continues.

Okay got my code and installed the game(PS4)...this is not so bad,I think its obvious they dont have some kind of AA on but damn,I was getting into it and all and the social aspect look pretty fun and well done...this is only after about 30 minutes of playing, failed the first race lol...
