The Crew Beta codes has been sent, post here your impressions

Anyone else having overscan issues? Part of the HUD is cut off. There are no settings for it. Never had this problem on any other PS4 game.
I'm so glad to finally see someone else mention this. I'm having this issue, too. Screenshots from this game appear cut off when viewed on the PS4, but not after they are uploaded, oddly. I was worried there was something off with my system, even though I haven't had an issue with other games.

he it is 52XP I should get so 10 ------> 11 should show 52/2000 not 0/2000

this is the kind of shit I would not want in a game I pay for so hope this is fixed for release
I think I saw mentioned that there was a level cap of 10?

This game disappoints on all fronts. The handling is just awful and this is coming from someone who can play sims and arcade racers. Forza Horizon 2 strikes that perfect balance and I was hoping for something similar in this title.

The UI is ugly and needs some work before release. The flow of using the map and marking waypoints is clunky. The Gps line that shows you where to go constantly wiggles which can easily confuse someone about where to turn.

The sense of speed itself is nonexistent and when I was going over 120 I actually felt like I was going 50.

The graphics are underwhelming especially in a city. I felt like I was playing an older gta than a new racing game.

Lastly, the story and character interactions are total cheese. I normally don't like shitting on people in the industry but that opening cutscene with your brother getting shot looked like something out of the ps2 era. Bad direction, unnatural character movement, and phoned in voice acting. I find it hilarious that the guy who shot your brother apparently rose to the head of his gang while you were in jail.

I will be giving this game a pass.

Can anyone confirm to me that the city of Baltimore does not exist in this game? I drove north from Washington DC, went through "Coal State" and then was in NJ/NY area.

(I'd bring up the map, but playing with a wheel, I can't zoom out.)

Yeah now that I think of it, compare the reaction of the dude in this game whose brother got shot dead to the reaction of Joel in the beginning of The Last of Us, when a character important to him meets that same fate. One is excellent, the other is The Crew.

And then realize they're both played by the same voice actor.

Pretty sure it's not there. The map is a really distorted version of the US with only a handful of major or iconic cities. Even the Great Lakes are bizarrely misshapen.

Why is there even a story in an online MP racer? Why are we all dudes named Alex? It makes zero sense to me. Why not have a single player story game (with offline) and then an online MP with create a character?

Oh I'm done with the missions as I'm sure after the Ford GT hijacking, there's nothing else but PVP and Challenges.

Overall, this game is ok. Visually, it's not gonna impress. I already addressed aliasing and the fact interior view, the mirrors show no reflections.

Gameplay wise, if you like Driveclub or Horizon, don't expect much from this, it's very arcadey. Handling is way off. Raptor is quicker than a RUF and a 67 Impala can catch up a 370Z and Skyline. Cops and getaways are a mess, if NFS games with the cops piss you off at times, you'll be more mad at this. Pursuers can be bricks once they stop meaning you can't just ram them off. Even worse, if they box you in, you are boned.

There's no way you can tell you are going fast in this unless you bump up your car with all the upgrades. UI isn't bad but the GPS line really trips me out.

Map wise, the cities feel lively and on the road is cool but Detroit and Chicago are 30 minutes from each other? THE FUQ? Airplanes, Hot air balloons, trains, wildlife, it's a lively map but seeing PS4/XBO/PC GTA V and it's a embarrassment.

I want to be in on this game, because there is a good game here but overall, I say wait til it's on sale or you really need a racing fix that for some odd reasons, DC and FH2 aren't doing it for you.

As we all know, Ubisoft isn't good with character customization.

You got to level 11? I though I was level capped could not win Troy's dirt race saw the dirt update at level 10 so I did jumps until I reached level 10 dirt upgraded my car but the Troy race still did not allow me to use my own car

the points I was getting for side stuff stopped counting so I thought there was a beta level cap

Sorry, I was level 10

Just started playing an hour ago.

So far not good, terrible visuals, awful sound, garbage cutscenes and the vehicle handling.......

I didn't know the entirety of the us of a was covered in a giant sheet of ice?

I already like this game.
I like the handling, it's only a matter of get used to.
I like the graphics. Nothing mind blowing of course, but pretty "solid" ... and most important thing, the more I play the more I like it!

This thread is depressing.

On paper, this game has what I want - huge world with plenty of places to see and explore, good cockpit view, possibility to hide HUD, seamless multiplayer.
It's like TDU3 which I want.

But then there is the subpar graphics (compared to Forza Horizon 2 it really is a generation behind from videos I have seen), reportedly bad handling, bad story.
A shame. I will probably still get it for that exploration, but...seems like wasted potential.

You will enjoy this game if you have the chance to try it.
Graphics wise is not that bad and the "bad" handling is pretty subjective.
I mean, I love racing games, almost played all of them and compared to other games like DC of FH2 the handling feels a lot more arcadey, but it's the "nature" of this game being pretty arcade, so it's only a matter of getting used to it ... and enjoy it!

On my phone so I can't type much but I feel like I'm opposite of everyone else. I'm really liking it. I got used to the handling really quick. The graphics aren't great but it seems like there's a lot to do.

Noticed that too. Couldn't find a place in the settings to adjust the screen real estate.

Jumped in earlier today, wow this is an incredibly ugly game, at least on XB1. Not only does it look like a 360 title, it really looks like there's negative anti-aliasing or something, there are jaggies fucking everywhere. It hurt my eyes to look at it. Other than that I didn't like how you'd get a car with some weighty feel to it, and then it made you get a street pack or whatever immediately that made it handle like complete crap.

Funny you mention it, I play my XB1 on a plasma and never have overscan issues (might be because it's a plasma; I usually have to set games to use more screen than they have set up as default). But I noticed on the bottom it lists the beta info and a warning that it isn't representative, blah, blah, but that kept changing in position. One point it's mostly cut off on both the left and the bottom, next it's completely on screen, then it's slightly cut off on the bottom, and so forth. Seemed a bit odd.

After all the negative reviews here I was prepared for the worst... I was pleasantly surprised. It's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. Handling takes some getting used to, but it's not terrible. Graphics... well, it's not a looker, but the biggest problem is the lack of AA, which will be no problem on PC.

The camera turning with the wheel in inside car view is extremely frustrating. Some weird decisions have been made on this game.

I definitely feel like there is a bit of hyperbole in here. Surprised not many people are even acknowledging all the pros I listed on the other page.

I guess it is a real TDU scenario, but I really don't have that much of a problem with the handling when I can spend hours exploring alone and the game does a more than decent job at sculpting that world. Once you start travelling, it becomes apparent quickly that the amount of content in the game is unreal, if at times sparse.

What drags that down a bit is the upgrade system and handling, and how those interact. The upgrade system is simply way too complex. Why are there that many parameters to upgrade? Why would I want to or have to redo a ton of missions as the only way for upgrading cars to the point where they feel satisfying to drive (if that is even how it works)? I don't know what the culprit is.. input lag? slippery model? too much understeer? bugs in the traction/surface properties? Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed to reduce the dissonance you get when trying to whip your car around anywhere.

It's not a $60/Day 1 purchase for me, but I would be tempted at $40 just for the exploration and collectathon stuff. I do think that is strong enough of a component to justify a purchase, especially if there's some time to tighten up the handling and readjust the upgrade system accordingly. I'll be keeping an eye out for impressions of the final product for sure.

It is really hard to play this game after play Forza Horizon 2. It looks like it is a last gen game compared to FH2 and Driveclub. It is really poorly executed and visually it is an eyesore. Hopefully this is an older build and the final game will look much better. The game has potential, but it is being held back by some sub-par performance and really bad visuals/iq.

Haters gonna hate, this game is a freakin' blast. After unlocking uprades and tweaking the various driving settings in the options menu, the cars handle perfectly.

I really want the H1 I saw in the Vegas race.

My thoughts aswell.

The game is terrible.

I've been really enjoying my time with it. I had to tweak the Sport control for nearly 20 minutes until I felt comfortable. I drove from Chicago to New Orleans and it was so peaceful. This map is massive- the driving controls are way too loose, the story cutscenes are so hilariously cheesy and the satellite tower discovery is so Ubi. But to turn off all those momentary racing/driving objectives and go on a long road trip - bliss.

Played for 5 minutes. I shut it off the second i pulled up to a satellite dish that opened up the map. Vantage points? Since its Ubisoft i just assumed so, have no interest in those type of open world games anymore.
