EDIT: What's with all the Harry Potter hate?

There have been instances where the studios have asked the director to shoot footage for a trailer, so those that think there may not be enough stuff for a trailer they may have done this.

Usually its not about hating the material itself but hating the people that like the material. So you end up hating the material through association. At least thats what it seems like.

no the material is just shallow, awfully written, plot-hole ridden crap and the films have almost all been really bad as far as I'm concerned. That one Prisoner film was the only I didn't have the desire to pierce my eyes out for, and mostly because it had a competent director. i'm supposed to be forgiving because it's a kids book but hey I'm an adult.

What magical theatre do you go to that has 6 dollar tickets? Haha, I can't find any that are less than 10.00

We have a historical theater called "The Casino Theatre" that costs 6 bucks for adults, but I also work at Tobyhanna Army Depot that sells tickets to the major Cinemark theatres for 6 bucks with a popcorn and soda included.

Will wait for teaser on youtube.

I expect something glorious. Glorious.

The new Harry Potter looks to be an incredible movie, and the reviews have been saying that thus far. It's worth seeing regardless, but obviously TDKR will add to that!
Reviews say lots of things. I don't think the movie will be worth seeing for anyone who hasn't already enjoyed the ones that have come before it.

Pretty much all the Potter movies have ranged from shit to poor outside of the visual/atmospheric aspects of some of them, with the exception of maybe POA which I remember being quite good. Then again, I saw that around 7 years ago.

I'm a big fan of the Harry Potter books as I grew up with them, but I dislike the movies immensely. Shitty child/teenager now adult actors really don't help.

Some casting choices were amazing though, have to give it to them for that.

Only truly notable HP film is 3 but I don't consider seeing what's effectively the exit of a franchise that was a huge part of my childhood as a hit to my dignity. I was already planning to be there at midnight

1.33 minutes?
That's probably 30 seconds of studio logos. 30 seconds of audio and no video. 30 seconds of the TDKR emerging. And 30 seconds of 'coming soon'.

The sun rises in the distance as an analogy to The Dark Knight.

Then the camera slowly zooms in and at 1.32, it's made apparent to the audience that the sun is, in fact, a Tangerine. Cut to black.

Not to go way OT here, but you live shockingly close to where I just moved. At least the Cinemark, if you're talking about the one I'm thinking of isn't too bad to watch a movie at, unlike R/C Movies 14.

Cinemark at Montage Mountain?

I've been to R/C Movies 14 to try out their D-Box thing for Super 8 though.|

Edit: I actually saw Dark Knight at Montage Mountain at the Midnight Opening, and it was one of the rowdiest crowds ever. Like, during the credits they showed a trailer for Harry Potter and this guy yelled "FIFTEEN POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR!"at the end of it.

And then when the opening show started, the logo came on, "let's hear it for Christopher Nolan!" cheers. "let's hear it for Batman!" roars. "Let's hear it for Heath Ledger!" Complete silence.

Then after a few seconds of silence, a response: "TOO SOON?"

made me laugh

The cinema I work at just got the digital copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2, as far as I can see no DKR teaser, Sherlock Holmes 2 instead. I work in Holland though don't know about the States.

:lol :lol

I saw Freddy vs. Jason in a theater like that.

the teaser will be Seal's "Kiss From a Rose" playing over a spinning Batman logo. At the end you will hear a short clip of Robin romanticizing Christian Bale while Catwoman gets jealous

I heard the Holmes 2 teaser was definitely attached in the US but I hope we get the TDKR one too.

Yeah, that's the place. Surprised about the rowdy crowd, every time I went there it was pretty relaxed heh. Seating is much nicer there too. R/C's are already filthy, of course.

I haven't been following the film with a religious fervor, but I hope Nolan does something completely unexpected and ballsy. My ultimate dream scenario would be for Bane to break Batman's back. It's hard for me to imagine both Nolan and Bale returning for another Batman film so why not go out on something completely shocking that would allow a smooth reboot?

Well judging by the reports of Nolan yelling the shit out of his actors, including Michael Caine for even talking about the existence of the movie, and those actors reporting that they understand why he wants to keep this ending to the franchise more shrouded than even TDK, I think we'll be in for something special.

I'm kind of upset at the amount that has already been leaked story-wise.

Bane breaking Batman's back in the movie is not something I'd like to see to be honest, I'd rather Nolan come up with his own story, especially since this is supposed to be the end to his trilogy.

But the elements of all his best movies usually come from some other source material. He just seems to have an excellent knack for adapting them to a alternate telling of those events.

I think such a scenario would be wonderful. Batman is technically just Sherlock Holmes with gadgetry and money. If he gets his back broken it would be a shock, but not completely unexpected. If he ends his trilogy with Batman becoming triumphant and Gotham City as safe as houses then I'll likely be very bored with it.

I understand that, Year One's influence on Begins and The Long Halloween's influence on The Dark Knight are not be understated. My real problem is that breaking Batman's back would result in something predictable(well to us fans at least) and would either result in more time for it to resolve or a quick fix.

And my honest opinion is the ending would either involve Batman being a controversial figure for Gotham that lives on to protect it or Batman dies but the myth lives on. I hope Nolan does great work on the ending, so far he hasn't disappointed me in anything he's done.

If there is a reboot I want Viggo Mortensen as an aged Bruce Wayne and Daniel Day Lewis as Joker.
