I don't get it, based on TDK won't Gordon
not put any serious effort into catching Batman ? He knows he's not the bad guy
Gordon will die in Batman 3. The only man who could prove Batman's innocence, EATEN BY KILLER CROC (Tom Hardy)

I can see why they eschewed from "The Dark Knight Returns" to keep a separate identity from the comic.

Also "Batman Returns." Makes me reaaaaaally think Catwoman. I can't imagine they'd worry about it too much unless it was also set to feature one of the villains from that film.

Bah, title could have been so much more inspired.

KNIGHT ENDS
END OF THE KNIGHT
DARKEST OF KNIGHTS
NO MORE MR. KNIGHT GUY

Still, better than all of the suggestions in this thread.

A Batman movie would be fucking awful with current 3D technology. There were even scenes in fucking TOY STORY 3 that were too dark because of the brightness issues. How could you ever make a proper Batman when the medium calls for entire worlds that fucking glow to read well on many screens?

Yeah, thats why he made the plants and stuff bioluminescent, to combat the 3D dimming. :lol

I think Tom Hardy as Bullock would be a great idea. He and Gordon clashing, Gordon secretly tipping off Batman when the cops are on his tail. In fact I could see them not including a proper villain at all in this. Maybe just some mobster that's tied in with Bullock or something, but really the focus being much more on Batman than TDK was.

I didn't know people thought Harvey was still alive. Heh.

More titles:
40 Days and 1 Knight
Gotham: From the Mind of D. Knight
Breaking Dawn

This has nothing to do with the movie, but I just got back from a strip club that featured both a Batgirl and a Robin, the Girl Wonder consecutively. Both were smoking hot. Nolan should use them as the centerpiece for the next Batman movie.

I can't believe how terrible those Joel Schumacher Batman films were. Thank you Nolan for coming along.
Some people say that they're entertainingly terrible. I think they're just flat-out terrible.

I still don't understand why they decide to pin it on the Joker at the end of TDK. Or on one of his henchmen.

Joker has an alibi. While Dent was killing those people, Joker was trying to kill other people :lol Besides, it makes for a more badass/noble ending if Batman takes the fall.

Plus, with Batman taking the fall, Joker wouldn't have the moral victory from killing Gotham's only hope for proper justice. If Gotham had seen that even a noble guy like Dent could sink to Joker's level, they wouldn't trust anyone else anymore.
Batman had to take the fall, in order to keep his hopes for a justice-ruled Gotham alive.

The authorities were there immediately and could see Dent dead, Commisioner Gordon with family, & Batman. There were no henchman and even in a corrupt town like Gotham, they wouldn't be able to frame someone that quick, especially with the Joker hanging upside down.

Plus neither Batman or Gordon are low enough to do that. They're both too self-sacrificing.

Good point. I wasn't thinking about who would be blamed for Dent's death for some reason. I was only thinking about who would be blamed for the people Dent killed.

Now I feel better!

Anyway I think this movie needs either Catwoman, Harley Quinn, or Talia Al Ghul. Nolan's biggest weakness is weak female characters, and if TDKR is released without a strong female character, then people will forever use the lack of one as a point of criticism against the trilogy.

Plus I think Catwoman in particular could be done really well in Nolan's universe, and would be a great foil as well as a needed rebound "relationship" after Rachel's death.
