This photo of Batman wearing sweatpants is less ridiculous than what this thread will become

...is this the first time people have seen green screen?

No sir, it is not. I interpret the sight of green screen to mean that "shit's gonna get added in there later" and in this case given the green screen's placemeent, it's pretty goddamned clear to me what's going to get added in there. Rubies the size of tangahhhhhhines.

Seriously, it's going to be a LONG next 14 months.

You can't see why
the possible casting of a young Ras, the shoot in an exotic location, and seeing the large what appears to be a pool of green will lead people to think its the pit?

With that said I am backing off what I think it is. From the set update its a green screen set inside a well or something. Who knows.

Has Eddie Murphy been seen on set yet? I'm hearing he has been preparing for this role for over a year now. Hopefully he is in great shape!

That's only a spoiler if you're familiar with the comics, I guess? The picture just looks like a spill on the sidewalk outside a Baskin-Robbins to me, heh.

It was in the animated series as well. If you aren't familiar with it, you are missing a good portion of Batman lore. I think it could play a part in the film but not in the same nature as most people are thinking it will. Either or, the picture shows me absolutely nothing and inspires hope for those wearing the reverse tin foil caps.

I don't think this is what everyone is thinking ....
You know what else is
Green ? Something that will be added later with special effects .... and we are talking about a hero who lives in a CAVE, so this can be just an entrance to a new batcave or something ...and the pit wasn't THAT big
Yea, and seriously, if we're gonna have
a Lazarus Pit, I imagine it will be a lot more theatrical than just a whole in the ground in the desert.

Seriously people, reality check here.

Watch people complain about the super natural aspect. Bu-bu-but Batman is supposed to be ultra-realistic! This movie sucks!

Watching people connect the gray hair and a green screen in the ground is pretty amusing, as if these two components make up the foundation of the film.

"ah man, getting too old for this Batman shit. Alfred, find me the fountain of youth!"

I'm okay with this.

wait wait wait .... when it was confirmed that Marion is
Thalia
?
I was guessing that was confirmed exactly the opposite O.o
Or everyone already made the
Ducard/Rhas
thing ?

Also ... isn't it easy to make the thing on the image with pratical effects ?
What else could it have to need a
huge green screen stuff
?

Pretty much.

Batman's fondness for black eyeshadow makes a whole lot more sense to me now.

HUGE SPOILER!

Bane is going to be covered in ooze giving him Kevin Nash Super Shredder powers and will break Batman's back while Eddie Murphy drowns Gotham in children's film riddles!

....

Agree with you except
so far we haven't had any supernatural element. No magic, aliens, or superheroes with fantastic powers. This would be the first introduction of that sort of element. Yes its about a man in a Bat costume but its tried to remain grounded in reality
.

Hm... about that recent unconfirmed spoiler...

Couldn't the pit work if the audience never receives confirmation that the younger Ras is indeed the old Ras and the pit really is super natural? Batman could take him just as a new person taking a title, and the movie could give no definitive answer to that question.

You don't need to add supernatural elements for the Lazarus Pit. Just say that it's full of nanomachines that heal it and you can avoid any supernatural explanation.

That would be sweet if he goes for the lazarus pit. It would be a kind of weird change of tone though considering in the first two he tried to go with a realistic approach. Throwing in the supernatural stuff all of a sudden may be jarring for some people.

looks too "out in the middle of nowhere" to go for the nano-machines angle.

Special minerals and shit.

True story, the River Ganges is known in Hindu mythology to have magical healing powers. In actuality, it is a natural combination of sulfur and bacteriophages which lends it its curative properties.

It ain't no Lazarus Pit:

The Plot leak you've been waiting for: Eyewitnesses and crew members told us of a particular scene being filmed, where a bald-headed child wearing ragged clothes emerges from the well and pulls his hood over his head. From the conversations, we reckon this is a young Bane, emerging from a vat of Venom, trained by Pence's Ra's al Ghul. The years of addiction to Venom builds him to be a massive monster with amped up senses, intelligence and physical prowess.

I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!

Couldn't it also be
Perhaps the chemical that Bane uses to increase his strength? It doesn't have to be the pit. Maybe Ras finds the chemical compound to make Venom. The first film, he wanted Bruce to retrieve a flower atop mountain, which was ultimately used as fear toxin (Scarecrow)
