Well both Bale and Pence are supposedly shooting at the fort in India, so maybe part of the story has (an older?) Bruce visiting some place related to Ra's.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how spoilery is the picture?

Assuming it's what I think it is, REALLY spoilery.

Then again, (spoilered just in case)
one of those wouldn't really make sense in a Nolan Bat-film...

I'm feeling downright rejuvinated after having looked at that picture.

Maybe Nolan's messing with us. Theatricality and deception are strong tools!

It's not a Batman shoot without speculation of set photos and casting that ends up 98% wrong.

Anthony Michael Hall is Riddler!

Wait what is so spoilery about it? What is it supposed to be?

Oh, I read the article, lol.
Yeah, I remember that from TAS.

Fuck so I wanted to avoid it but had no idea who this Josh Pence dude was so I googled him. 2nd search result reads
cast as the young Ras-Al-Ghul

FUCK. So then I clicked on the photo cause I am a bitch and can't hold myself back. FUCK!

For those who haven't and want to avoid all spoilers, its a pretty big one unless you do know the plot somewhat. I had avoided the plot revelations so far outside of the casting of Catwoman and Bane and the minor roles.

I need self control.

Haha if true I wonder how Nolan will handle it.

Yeah if it is what I think it is then I have no idea how they will handle it. Nolan seems to avoid all
superstitious elements and rightfully so IMO. So if its the pit then I guess they are going with the rejuvenation angle. Maybe its something to do with Bane? And didn't some earlier tweet say something about a well with a green screen on the inside of it? So its most likely the green screen used for some underground scene. Maybe young Ras Al Ghul is actually Liam Neeson's character's son? SOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!

Why is there a chopper taking pics?

I don't think this is what everyone is thinking ....
You know what else is
Green ? Something that will be added later with special effects .... and we are talking about a hero who lives in a CAVE, so this can be just an entrance to a new batcave or something ...and the pit wasn't THAT big

Bane will outright kill Bats and Alfred will say fuck that shit and dump him in the Pit, and all hell breaks lose.
Then flashback reveals us that good old Alfie was the Burman thief and we hear him mutter "some people just want to watch the world burn", smiling.
TWIST.

Very true. Given the casting of Bane and Talia, I'd pretty much figured that we were going to see something like this.
Batman gets broken, then takes a dip in the lazarus pit to heal himself, hence the grey hair on Bale when he got off the plane in India
.

Given that theory, I, for one, would like to see Robin in this movie. Maybe that civic center dome they're demolishing in Pittsburgh is intended to be a circus that gets blown up?

Really, you think they travelled all the way to India just to film
a hole in the ground that's the entrance to the batcave????
Nuh uh. Also, I'd like to believe that those "improvements to the southwest foundation" constituted a little more than
digging a goddamned hole in the ground.

I don't know why everyone thinks that Nolan shys away from the fantastic & supernatural in the Batman movies. There's tons of that comic booky stuff in there--it's just the cinematography that makes it appear to be more "realistic" and "gritty."

That or he's possesed by Parallax :o
Green Lantern crossover?:p

As long as that means we get to Kyle faster in the GL universe. And a Bale cameo as he tests Kyle to see if he's good enough.

So when they said the movie ends in a manner that prevents sequels, they meant Nolan fucks up the whole series by introducing Robin?

Nah brah can't be.

Also now that I have calmed down, I think its
a green screen like the one described earlier from some eyewitness tweet. But don't think its the new batcave. Why would they fly out to India to shoot a batcave scene. Probably something to do with Bane.

Then again according to the google search result this Josh Pence dude has been cast as young Ras Al Ghul. If that is confirmed to be true than at the least there is some Ras Al Ghul storyline with Marion playing Talia. I just hope its not supernatural and more along the lines of Pence playing a son. Only cause while its cool in the comics and was done wonderfully in the TAS, it will completely smack in the face of what they have been trying to do so far.

Agree with you except
so far we haven't had any supernatural element. No magic, aliens, or superheroes with fantastic powers. This would be the first introduction of that sort of element. Yes its about a man in a Bat costume but its tried to remain grounded in reality

You're 100% right, it would be the first introduction of that sort of thing. Or maybe it's just a dream sequence. I'm sure there were leaked photos from "Begins" of Batman with the demon makeup on talking to Crane that threw people through a loop. In Nolan we trust.

Yeah... I highly, highly doubt that's what some are claiming it is.
It's a green screen
, there's a dozen likely possibilities, let alone the unlikely things.

Yeah, that's what i think too.

Couldn't it also be
Perhaps the chemical that Bane uses to increase his strength? It doesn't have to be the pit. Maybe Ras finds the chemical compound to make Venom. The first film, he wanted Bruce to retrieve a flower atop mountain, which was ultimately used as fear toxin (Scarecrow)

Fucking shit, if they bring back Scarecrow one more time, I will seriously loose it. Could they have made his character in TDK any more pathetic? I swear, in TDKR, they'll shoot an entire scene of him waiting on line at the Gotham City Unemployement Office:

"So Dr. Crane, did you attempt to look for gainful employement today? How'd the job interview go last week? You didn't wear that mask again did you? Did you gas the guy interviewing you? Ah christ you gassed him didn't you? Just take your $500 and get out of here already."
