The Dark Knight Rises (Batman 3) - No Riddler

I am very down on this movie if I'm being honest. I kind of appreciate that he's going the Bane route, but this would have been much more interesting (and likely less Comic Con-ish) if Nolan just went with a Riddler storyline and left Catwoman completely out of this.

Hathaway looks extremely miscast, too young, and she's nothing like I envision Catwoman being.

The movie will be cool, I think people, myself included, have extremely high expectations. The movie can be really good and still be disappointing. If Nolan pumps out a movie on the level of Captain America, which I enjoyed, I'll be disappointed. I thought my expectations for The Dark Knight were high, this one is through the roof.

Bain looks fine to me, Cat Woman I've got a few question marks for though. And it's the heels. The rest of the out fit I'm fine with and the whole athletic criticism is going a bit over the top, nothing Pfister and a stunt double can't fix. The heels, however, are a strange choice. Batman wears the ridiculous get up because he's a symbol. Cat Woman wears heels because she represents someone I'd like to fuck? Nolan must have an explanation, fingers crossed it's one that makes me go, ohhhh that's actually pretty cool.

Sorry, even Sam Raimi had spiderman 3 lurking somewhere in him. I'm fearing for this flick. Ultimately this movie will live or die based on the script.
 
Just saw the new Catwoman costume. It looks too much like the 1960s TV series costume. It doesn't fit into the "Nolan-verse". Why couldn't she wear goggles instead of that stupid domino mask?
 
The details provided about that scene make it seem kind of hokey, but I might like it.

Though there is one big aspect that has me doubting its legitimacy.
 
I have an interesting theory on Nolan's Dark Knight Rises.

I think Chris Nolan plays Uncharted 2. And I think that was his inspiration and vision for his Bane. Uncharted 2 had snow and Lazarevic. Maybe he saw that as an idea that could be further built on. So he sees what Bane could be in Lazarevic and the snowy atmosphere that surrounds him. Let's take Uncharted 2's villain and give him martial arts skills and a mask/history.

Why are you so excited about the possible return of
Scarecrow? He really doesn't have to be in every Nolan Batman movie, does he?

Someone has to make Bane's venom. He fits perfectly into this one.

To cash in on people that saw the Dark Knight? Seriously, they're acting like Batman Begins never happened and its the first movie in this trilogy..

Name aside, everything that's known about this film indicates the exact opposite of them forgetting about Begins.

Isn't bane supposed to be some kind of genius? If he is, I hope nolan doesn't just turn him into a mindless brute.

I'm not basing this off much, but isn't it because of the ending of the Dark Knight? Batman reached a low point at the end of that movie and probably the beginning of this one so he has to rise up.

I dont think he is
that smart, but a good tactician and reasonably smart, knowing how to make something like the venom serum is probably more than he could do

He is, but that doesn't mean they can't have someone else invent and manufacture venom for him

If they were naming the films to cash in, the Dark Knight would have been called something similar to Batman Begins: Begins Harder since that movie itself made a good amount of money.

I seriously doubt Nolan is going to allow WB to push him into naming the movie anything other than what Nolan wants to call it. And especially just to cash in. And that also assumes people are too stupid to realize its the third Batman movie by Nolan starring Bale.

Pretty sure the title has to do with the central theme of the movie.

Nolan continued to stress that the scale of the movie was key, adding, "I think the goal with those movies and the thing that Chris is doing and just kicking ass with is making a movie so big that you couldn't possibly fit all of it. Even in tiny little pieces, you still wouldn't get a sense of the scale of it. I saw a little bit the other day, and the scale is just vast."

What does that even mean? Even if you saw the shoots you couldn't grasp whats going on? Cause it could also be read as "its so big that they can't fit everything in but they are going to try anyway"...which doesn't sound too good.

Franky, I'm surprised there's even much of
a Gotham PD left. After the fear gas attack in the first film, the Joker's reign of insanity in the second one, and Bane's massive onslaught in this movie, there's probably like just... Gordon and three other dudes left. Shittiest job in Gotham? Being a damn police officer.
 
So i decide to leave my apartment and go for a late night walk through downtown la and what do i find? The goddamn batman! He was on the batpod speeding down the street. If 5 year old me knew that 20 year old me would see the real-life batman he would think i was the coolest person aside from batman himself. Sorry, but seeing that made me pretty ecstatic, gaf.
