The Deuxcision: LeBron opts out, not one, not two but three teams.

So either he takes less money and stay loyal or chase the big payday.

Well he left Toronto where he had plenty of money and was the star. The "loyalty" train left Boshville about 4 years ago. Go get paid. When you have rings, it's time to maximize your income while you're still getting offered stupid money.

Chris Bosh didn't magically lose the abilities that allowed him to go 24/10 in Toronto - he has just played in a system that requires that he not do so. It's hard to get that with 10 to 12 shots a game as the third option in an offense that features LBJ and Wade. He's not even the safety valve in the sets he occurs in (usually the Allen/Battier/Miller-type 3pt shooter is that guy).

That said, playing with Harden and Dwight is going to make it hard for him to be the 24/10 guy that traditionally merits max money though. Who's gonna shoot less? Harden? Dwight (ideally it'd be him, but he swears he's Hakeem and should be getting 15-20 shots a game)? Doesn't matter though - in this market, if he's not a max guy, who is?

No he doesnt, what a silly thing to say. He absolutely does not have Dirk's low post game, if he did, MIA would have made it a series against SA. Guy just gave an interview saying how much he hates low post play, lol.

thats cause hes a a moist as dude

he looked lost in the playoffs

Slightly different skillset. Better defender, more athletic (/no coded racism), better at the top of the key.

Different but just as valuable.

I hate how people point only to the low post game re: Bosh. The game has changed. He's drifting away not because he's soft, but because thats the scheme.

well he's the one who said that he hated the physicality of being double teamed in the post. how else was a comment like that gunna be interpreted? Chris said all kind of shit in that interview he shouldve kept to himself.

I think it could work great if Dwight took less touches. Let him run the floor, catch lobs or make quick moves when he's right under the basket and protect the paint on D. Then let Bosh be the main low post and midrange guy on offense with Harden doing what he does on the perimeter.

But as you said, Dwight probably wouldn't go for that.

Adding LeBron to a 48-win team in the west that was missing Bledsoe for nearly half the season?

Let's not be silly. And there'd be money to bring along another max contract.
That West is no joke. I could see Miami folding to several teams over there, as well as a LeBron-led Phoenix.

Houston will offer Bosh a max but not Lebron lol wtf?

LEBRON AND MELO going to phoenix seems dope

Lebron going anywhere that isn't Miami now seems awesome

So why does everyone hate what Lebron did then?
Because he's LeBron James. No one is going to hate Bosh for deciding to leave Miami. No one hated him for leaving Toronto.

James is the exception, though, because people love to hate him. The first time around, The Decision was a stupid idea, but James already admitted that, but it doesn't matter to people who want to hate him.

Is Amar'e still the thing keeping the Knicks from signing Melo and another superstar? How flipping long was his contract. With the money the Knicks and Lakers make, what keeps them from just buying out the bad contracts?

So why does everyone hate what Lebron did then?
Because they are wrong?
All the other stuff rubbed ppl the wrong way though - " chosen one" "king James" and the decision of course. Best player in the game joining with other greats rather than "building his own", etc etc.

Not saying ppl are right but that's real.

You can't just do that.

It was a five-year deal, but he declined to opt-out of this final year in 2014-2015 because he will make $23 million that he isn't worth at all.

It's New York's fault, though.

Amare - lol. Anyone remember when he signed with ny and had all those quotes about how Lebron should join him? This was during the mad pre decision speculation - Nope.gif

Yeah, he can actually.

How can MIA match or approximate 4/88 without either:

- paying Wade bullshit
- not paying LBJ max
- getting rid of the small bench depth they have (assuming Granger and McRoberts are on board, Napier is a rookie, and Ray Allen/Birdman are coming back for the minimum, I guess you're going to not have Oden/Beasley/Cole/Lewis/Jones/Douglas?)

If Bosh is willing to do 5/88, maybe.

Amar'e is less useful than Wade.

If New York can actually pull off this trade with Philadelphia, it would be a miracle.

I'm just giving you examples of the perception of Chris Bosh. There's no denying that his rep has taken a massive hit. Houston is smart to see past it though.

Whatever the cut is, i'm sure it's a pretty significant difference from what Houston's offering.

Let's not talk crazy now. Dirk is/was way more crafty inside and out, and isn't a total beta like Bosh has been.
You guys realize Bosh has a great post game, right? Look at his game in Toronto, when he was bigger. He used his face up game more just because of his speed advantage. However, he uses his back to the basket game when he has a size mismatch. He doesn't use it much these days for two reasons. We have asked him to lose weight twice in order to stay light, and we ask him to shoot from outside since putting him in the post just drags a center back to the post. This first half of 2010, we used him in PNP, ISO at the elbow and down on the block. This was obviously before LeBron developed his post game and made sending Bosh thee redundant. LeBron will find more mismatches than Bosh playing the 5.

I feel people are largely ignorant of Bosh's skill set. He's elite shooting big from 3, midrange and in the paint. He can faceup and drive around most guys. He can work in the post, especially when he's playing other 4s. He's a good passer and can grab double digit boards when motivated. There isn't another big man not named Dirk that has Bosh's skill set. I'll take the Pepsi challenge on that one any day. Name one. The closest you'll get is LMA, and what is he missing that Dirk has? I feel confident in my take. PEACE.

What trade is on the table there?

i'd imagine it's something like Amare and draft pick or asset for filler. Philly doesn't care because they have tons of cap space and don't give a fuck about winning. Hell they would probably be okay with Amare not playing a single minute for them.

Yep... NBA has some of the dumbest contracts.... EVER!

not dumbest contracts, dumbest owners. Everyone and their mom knew that contract was bad the moment it was signed.

Fill out the roster for me, I'll get you started.

Bosh 22
LeBron ???
Wade???
Granger 2.1
McRoberts 5.75
???
???

Trying to do the math now; If we don't go over the tax apron, keeping the exceptions, can't we go into the lux tax to sign these dudes?

First year of a 4/88 deal isn't 22M. It's 19.7M with 7.5% annual raises, if I did it right. Granger and McBobs probably have 4.5% raises built into theirs. McBobs should be 5.4 the first year. Granger is rounded right. That's if they use the max raise available. PEACE.

Never been too clear on how buy out works. But Amar'e is in his last year, right? I thought it was fair game then.

Melo and LeBron (and Bosh) on the table, the Lakers and Knicks--well maybe not the Knicks--are just sort of dicking around. Jerry Buss has to be rolling over.
