Dat NDA worked then, hey?
after two days of playing i got an idea:
think about the following mechanics that will interlock together like a set of gears.
First I think The Division needs PvE Dungeons where Players meet in free roam at the entrance and have to make groups to finish the dungeon.
At the End of the dungeon, which is maybe a big contaminated building or underground you have to extract for example on top of the building.
but the dungeon and the final extraction is an instance only for your group, so choose your members wisely.
Then we need a PvP Reputation system. Rouge level for killing Agents, and Agent level for killing Rouges for example.
So when you form a dungeon group with unknown people, you either form a fair group of agents and the rouges are left alone, beat the dungeon and extract.
or you form a group with a bunch of rouges where no one trusts anyone and maybe have a big shootout in the end.
i think this would be a massive thing, because many fair players crying over rouges in free roam and would have the chance to beat dungeons in their way.
but we can keep the free roam PvP as it is, because i love the intense extraction moments as a lone walking agent.
with that pvp reputation there may be extra item merchants like a rouge marked or agent dealer.
also would work perfectly together with dungeons and forming a group as described above.
what do you think?
Extracted a dozen or so blues from the DZ tonight rolling w/ Jackbooted. Didn't see any griefers really, plenty of groups just trying to get their loot out.
I had been rolling solo, much more fun in a group.
I'm going to honor the NDA and not talk about my experience with the game, so instead I'll talk about what I haven't experienced. My only questions going forward is to the amount of content, the end game structure, and the what boss fights are going to be like. I want so badly for this game to nail the end game. I want unique areas for dungeons/raids, and a decent loot system that takes some time and effort to get the best gear. I also really wonder how they are going to approach boss encounter design since the game is so grounded in reality. Magic and Far future tech makes designing those kinds of encounters much easier, and this game really doesn't have any of that.

So the nda is over?! Why is everyone posting all willy nilly?
I remember when I signed an nda there was like a 10000 dollar fine for breaking it
How so? There is a tanking spec, a healer spec, and a threat mechanic so it already has more structure than Destiny. A dungeon or raid is nothing more than a tightly tuned mission with one or more bosses throughout. I see no reason why they couldn't do boss encounters, I just question how unique they can get with them.Wait... dungeons and raids... has Ubi said anything about either of those? From my hours in the Alpha i cannot see how those would workout with the current game mechanics and gunplay... would be a shit show.
I'm gonna say one thing, hope it isn't too spoilerish though. Shoot car windows. Seriously.
Why shoot windows when you can close the doors!I'm gonna say one thing, hope it isn't too spoilerish though. Shoot car windows. Seriously.
Those screenshots look good...seems like they nailed the atmosphere anyway.
Eh, doesn't look like much more than a higher resolution render with higher resolution textures, both of which will be possible on PC I would imagine.I'm still waiting to see some screenshots that actually look like the E3 2013 trailer...
Oops, forgot Ubi's games never actually look like their trailers.

I doubt it would reach that in an Xbox One, ultra PC will do the trick though.I'm still waiting to see some screenshots that actually look like the E3 2013 trailer...

Everything they want, they gotta have it now and they've gotta have it perfect.
Ha too true.
Does anyone know the level cap of the Alpha? I'm at 7 so far.

Tell us on the doll where Ubisoft touched you.

Honestly, besides the high resolution and better character models/post processing the alpha does look very similar. The density and detail is the same.

Yeah, it clearly worked out that way with Watch Dogs.....oops again.

Oh isn't that cute, someone who's happy to put up with habitual marketing lies from their favorite corporate overlord. You must certainly hate it when others point out behavior on Ubi's part which clearly warrants scorn on all accounts.
Shit, that's right. Forgot this was a Ubisoft game. Well, I can at least hope for the best.
Where do I go for the Alpha Thread on Ubi?
Dat NDA worked then, hey?
I don't really care. You can have it out for them all you want, but aside from texture and resolution differences it pretty much looks like that on XB1. Any other differences are pretty minor and very likely part of higher settings on the PC. If you want to compare the Alpha to something then compare it to the XB1 version that they showed at this years E3.Considering its a direct capture from the E3 2013 trailer, how about no. In case you are not familiar with Ubi's marketing practices, it has a well established habit of misrepresenting their games in trailers.

it's a massive game first and foremost.......want to know how you can tell? There isn't a tower to climb and activate discovery points......
In Massive we trust.
They haven't let me down yet and they have some fucking insane programmers. World in Conflict was masterful.
