Agreed. The results of the guest bets are pretty much random, seeing as Cold Blooded and Ultima Brad don't actually know what they're betting for. They both end up relying on the same guests anyway, so it's not even about whose expertise they trust on a particular topic. Kills the tension imo

So it looks like they barely showed any Madden at all during the EA Press Conference. There was a cinematic trailer at the very beginning, then still shots when they talks about their Scorpio support.

At best, I counted 1 hurdle move (X). There were no spins (Y).

That spin doesn't count. That video reel is about previous eSports events, which means the footage is of Madden 17. Only spins and hurdles from Madden 18 count.

Doesn't really matter -- there isn't remotely enough material here to get close to a number Bloodworth would need to win. The total would have to be higher than 75. I think 3^4 would be the minimum to cross that line.

I really don't like what these betting specials have become -- some uncomfortable mishmash of cringe-inducing improv and amateur wrestling. Too many characters are one-note jokes, and don't know what to do besides their one gimmick. I had a really hard time making it through the video, and I had put off watching until today. So you can imagine how pleased I was when I we got to Bloodworth's final bet. Clearly he's kinda tired of all these theatrics, too. Makes sense since he's never really seemed comfortable in-character.

I miss the simple Bosman v Huber rivalry. While there was some hyperbole there, neither of them was trying to play some ill-conceived character. I kinda liked that everyone who came in to help with the bets was sincere, and gave measured answers. I liked that people who gave dumb answers were routinely ragged on even after the event was over (Seriously Elyse? No double jump?).....I feel like that cast of whacky characters insulates the normal cast from their decisions and actions.

I don't think they really could have anticipated that EA was going to punt their Madden footage off to the Microsoft conference. I'm even surprised Microsoft wants it, since that's going to bring their pacing to a pretty crashing halt.

If you had to guess it on the nose, 1 is a good pick since it's somewhat likely that the exponent may be zero (or that the base number might be 1). If you are just trying to get close, it's probably smarter to pick something in the teens or 20's. Neither of them really had time to think, and it could have easily gone the other way if they had demo'ed Madden even for a few minutes.

I mostly agree, but Brand Manager is just too good a gimmick to lose, even if Blood wins the bet. You could just make a comedy E3 video every year with Brand Manager and it would be gold.

I think the cringe is actually apart of the appeal. I do agree though, the interactions are insular and are completely lost outside of the betting special videos when they take these personas.

Brand Manager is a 10/10 in any case, though.

Brand Manager is a great and really well thought out character. Every other character is kind of an ill-defined gimmick who just descends into poorly improvised smack talk. The characters aren't versatile enough to sustain extended interactions......they feel like they were conceived for an improv sketch that was not meant to last more than a minute or two.

I think Benzilla could work if Ben had a better grasp on absurdist comedy. "That was dinosaur humor!" was one of the more funny moments of the video.

It's not really cringe-y enough to work that way. They don't seem all that self-aware, so it comes of as kind of amateur-ish. Sincere, but without the knowledge that their sincerity is hokey.

I think Ian should re-work all the characters and scenarios. Weekend Update was a pretty perfect example of a production that realized it was second-rate and just ran with it anyway.

That's still one space bar press. I think they meant in the name at the end... because no matter what Xbox One ___ is two. They meant like Xbox One Pro Elite.

I think that bet is fairly literal - Xbox Scorpio for example would have only the one spacebar press.

Still plenty of opportunities to have double jumps, though since it's unaccounced, I assume stuff like Ori, Knack or Mario don't count?

So did we hear Imagine Dragons? that bet was dumb at first glance then the more I thought about it the better it got. It should have not said Sunday only.
