I think it's the X button that does a forward dash and uses magic. It brings you to the level of creatures in front of you and if you "aim" at some of the creatures and dash at them, it will start a grapple/battle sequence. This is what I did, but I sort of blew through it a while ago. There are probably better techniques.

double tap x to dash into it when it flies at you
 
Just beat it a while ago. Great game, better-than-great experience. Wow. The way it ended... ohhh man it was like watching The Two Towers end or Star Wars Episode II, making the wait for GOW3 utterly painful. :lol
 
This was was probably one of the fullest, most engrossing, most complete gaming experiences I've ever had.

I mean, this game is just grade A all-around.

The only thing I hope for in the 3rd one is a deeper, more strategic combat system. I can only mash buttons for so long.

You have a little while yet. Probably 3-4 more hours, depending on how good you are.
 
I just beat the game.

I would like to reiterate how amazing the game looks on a 1080p television with Widescreen and Progressive turned on and a PS3 outputting over HDMI. It was just amazing. Stunned completely. Bad screen tearing in some indoor environments the only blemish. Shock and awe.
 
I am stuck
I am at the second pedestal with the book you need to read. The one where the guy keeps jumping off the platform, and the mirror that sends you back intime. I am not sure what I need to do with the Statue of Time

immediately stop time and you have to roll to the guy and press r1 to grab him.

I pretty much don't think he can ever have sex with his wife ever again after hearing Linda Hunt's voice in her.

And even though I LOVE Linda Hunt's role in this series, her voice did not fit

at all I thought. Looked more like a dude.
 
The boss fights in this game are SOOO MUCH fun. The level of awesome in this game is WOW, Balrog(can i call you that Barlog?) has outdone himself.

5 hrs and 30 mins in and i can say that i am enjoying this game more than the first one. :)

Yeah, the cyclops is pretty badass.

I would make a anigif of my other favorite, but I can't find the footage. It's the one where Kratos steals the enemy's mace and smacks him with it - then chains him up, forcing him onto his own mace.
 
Man I hope I'm playing slower than you guys. I'm 8 hours in and I don't want it to end. I thought I only played three hours the first day, but it really was 6.5 according to the save file, hehe.

Mythology question since I'm a bit rusty. Who was that
badass porcupine god in the battle of gods vs. titans cutscene
?
 
Yesterday I played 6 hours, 2 hour break for tennis since it was so beautiful out, and then 6 more hours.

I have wrist problems from tennis and typing (CTS), so I can barely grab anything or even make a fist - I want to run through Titan mode now while I'm still on break, but it hurts too bad right now...probably done with games for the remainder of my break now.
 
Someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make me a gif icon of Kratos footballin' those demon dogs :lol

Yeah I got Spartan as well. The unlockables are cool.
 
Your rank is just the difficulty level.

Almost certain that's Hades.

Man if I had any Gif making skills, I would have
Kratos slamming that door into Theseus' face repeatedly as my avatar in no time.
MASH CIRCLE FASTER KRATOS!!

I had to stop playing because that moment was too awesome. Awesome overload total.

I get the odd feeling that this will all end with Kratos
using the threads to go back in time and just let himself die at the hands of the Barbarian King.
 
Should I play this game on hard or normal? People were bitching about how easy GOW 1 was and they told me to play on hard mode. Same story with this one?

If you've already played the first game, Normal will likely be pretty easy for you. There are stretches near the end where the game does get very hard on normal mode, though.

Btw, I think this game tops the original in every respect. The last quarter of this game is, indeed, awesome overload.

Normal was fun for me.

Yeah, I was talking to a friend today about the game and explained this kill which is my favorite in the game. A close one would be the ripping of the Cyclops' eye. I LOVE the animation on the eyeball when Kratos lift his eyelid and the Cyclop is looking left and right like he's going 'Hey, what the hell's going on?!' :lol

I really liked the design on the fatality for the regular soldier guys. It's obviously not the best, but, they needed something quick and satisfying, since you'll do it about a billion times. Same thing for the
skeletons
too, although you don't run into them too much.

Gives ya that quick UGH **** YOU BITCH feeling as you charge on to the next baddie.
