Watching the trailer mostly confirms my expectations of this film. It's going to be incredibly mediocre, but no action fan can help but get goosebumps from seeing all these guys on screen at the same time. Hopefully Stallone uses this as a final punctuation mark on his film career - this may be the last great bad movie he does, and everything after will just be a bad movie that's forgettable.
Definitely watching this on opening weekend.

The movie looks great, its an action movie like it hasnt been done in a while with a great cast and a director that knows what its doing, its surprising to see people failing to grasp the concept of it asking by requesting that is more like Machate. Well, not Daniel, he is probably already working on some shitty Top 10 to get some free hits for his site.

If the action is bad, and the chemistry isn't there. Then the terrible plot will overwhelm, but if it is a fun ride. Then it should be good. The movie is going rely heavily on the chemistry. Difference between boring ass action movies now like Avatar and Transformers to the classic 80's action titles like Commando.

The problem with most of you suggesting that its a throwback to the 80s are ignoring all past reports that the studio was shopping for a PG13 shoot. An 80s throwback action film with Stallone and co should never be shot with even the possibility of a PG13 release.
The whole appeal of 80s action flicks these days it that they come from a time where the studios wouldn't pussy out for the sake of a couple of extra dollars from pre-teens. This just becomes another diluted action movie of today.

You can blow up and shoot guns all you want and kill thousands, as long as it's not gorey and tons of swearing. One of the main aspects is just having bad asses on screen which we no longer see. Heroes and action stars are all pussified, and action is nothing but giant CG fests.
This is mostly practical explosions, actual fights, lots of guns, car chases, muscles, etc. It's a movie with a brain dead simple plot, but you will go see it just to see asses being kicked.
