Have we seen any footage of Danny Trejo yet? :lol
Then why do you keep posting in this thread?DanielPlainview said:saw the trailer again before Kick-Ass, it looks so fucking terrible. Going to be one of the worse movies of the year.

I'm looking forward to pretty much every other action film this year. Hell, I even dug The Losers. This looks so bland, zero style and not awesomely bad like the stars of the film were in in their heyday.Mengy said:Your testosterone level is too low. HEY!shagg_187 said:Dude. Do you seriously care how terrible the movie is? Over The Top was terrible, Commando was terrible, Hard Target was terrible, Universal Soldier was terrible, The Punisher was terrible, Bloodsport was terrible. Demolition Man was terrible. Cliffhanger was terrible. It doesn't really matter how great or terrible this movie is. Like any mindless action movie. the massive cast is the MAIN REASON to watch this movie!
Incase you're wondering: I love every single movie I just mentioned but if you look at it in a serious manner, these movies are so fucking cheesy! When you stop thinking about shit like this, these movies are SO FUCKING AWESOME!
Teetris said:HEY!
Bloodsport was an amazing piece of work worthy of an oscar or two
MjFrancis said:Watching the trailer mostly confirms my expectations of this film. It's going to be incredibly mediocre, but no action fan can help but get goosebumps from seeing all these guys on screen at the same time. Hopefully Stallone uses this as a final punctuation mark on his film career - this may be the last great bad movie he does, and everything after will just be a bad movie that's forgettable.
Definitely watching this on opening weekend.

otake said:The trailer gives the impression that Stallone needs to go to the Tarantino/Rodriguez school of cheesy. The impression I get from the Machete trailer is what I should get from The Expendables.
DanielPlainview said:Exactly. Machete is precisely what they should have gone for.
OuterWorldVoice said:False. Machete is a pulp cinema homage. Expendables is an Eighties action homage. It is supposed to be cheesy and take itself too seriously. WE get to project irony and satire into it - Eighties action movies did not set out to be cheesy or self-parody - they were unselfconsiously like that.
Yeah, you put in to words what I was thinkingOuterWorldVoice said:False. Machete is a pulp cinema homage. Expendables is an Eighties action homage. Yeah, I didn't think the action was very exciting- my main problem with the film was how it jumped around everywhere every- plot was kind of a mess imhoBattleMonkey said:Losers was garbage. Some of the most boring action in a long time.

Thank you. We all get that you think it's going to suck.DanielPlainview said:But it doesn't look cheesy, that's my problem with it. It looks like it has a serious edge and trying to accomplish something else. It just comes off as boring. All the other films you mentioned may be terrible, but they are a ton of fun to watch because they cheesy and ridiculous. This doesn't look the same. I'll shut my mouth for now though and wait until August.
Scullibundo said:The problem with most of you suggesting that its a throwback to the 80s are ignoring all past reports that the studio was shopping for a PG13 shoot. An 80s throwback action film with Stallone and co should never be shot with even the possibility of a PG13 release.
The whole appeal of 80s action flicks these days it that they come from a time where the studios wouldn't pussy out for the sake of a couple of extra dollars from pre-teens. This just becomes another diluted action movie of today.
black_13 said:who gives a shit if its the worst movie ever? your supposed to just look at the screen and say "hey those are some badass motherfuckers!"
robertsan21 said:HELL YES!!
I think you would be an awesome dude to go to the cinema with!
you would fit right in with me and my friend, we all love badass motherfuckers who just blow shit up and say cool things!
this is no joke by the way.
I cant wait for this movie
Same here.Bleepey said:Dude, whenever i watch action movies i make it a point of duty to fit in as many one liners as i can whilst commentating on a film.
The reason for the lack of footage in the recent trailer for The Expendables is because Stallone and the studio are deciding whether to release the PG-13 cut or the R rated cut.
Wtf I didn't even know their was the possibility of it being PG-13. If it is I no longer have any interest in this movie.DanielPlainview said:
My understanding is that it was filmed as R and some shots were done again as PG-13. As long as the movie was filmed with an R rating, all is well for that cut.Scullibundo said:The problem with most of you suggesting that its a throwback to the 80s are ignoring all past reports that the studio was shopping for a PG13 shoot.
