No love for Dude where's my car?
:lol forgot all about that one.

Love the beginning when they start looking and it makes a transition to make it seem like they've been walking for a while and he says he is getting tired and they haven't walked passed the neighbors house lol.

I would say MST3K:TM, but because I love many episodes more than the movie, I can't. UHF is also one of my all time favorites...BUT!

The funniest movie to me personally will always be Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. I can quote that movie all day long. And have! At work!

1. The Life Aquatic obviously

Favorite movie of all time for me. :D But I was trying just to pick a movie soloing in the comedy genre. Life Aquatic is really much more than just that.

Can anyone help me remember a line from Life Aquatic by the way?

I think it was something like this from Bill Murray " I'm unpredictable, I dont know what comes next."

Recently for me:

And Charlie Chaplin... I'm not even kidding. I was just watching one where he gets mistaken for a rich dude and gets stuck in a suit of armor. It's awesome.

I wish people would stop freaking out over The Big Lebowski. It's unique, entertaining, and has its share of memorable moments, but it's not even close to being a great film.
I used to think the same thing too, but then I watched it Red Rocks. Red Rocks is a large outdoor Amphitheatre in Colorado, and during the summer they show older movies with a band for $10 (awesome thing to do on Tuesday nights). Portions of the crowd will sometimes dress up as people from the movie, and with Big Lebowski the largest portion I have ever seen dressed up. It was awesome seeing a bunch of people walking around with carpets, sunglasses, and bath robes. Basically, what I am saying is the memorable moments in the movie are very strong, and they are strong enough to drive a lot of people dress up like the dude and probably forgive some of the flaws within the movie.

On a side note, if anyone here is from Colorado, I would highly recommend checking out Red Rocks summer movies. Its pretty cool watching older movies with a couple thousand drunk people that love the movie too.

Best line ever from any movie is...

Jane Winslett-Richardson: [about her baby] In twelve years, he'll be eleven and a half.
Steve Zissou: [pause] That was my favorite age.

what is UHF?

:O GTFO.

It's a movie starring Weird Al Yankovic and Michael Richards that has a lot of film parodies, based on the premise of Weird Al's uncle getting a local UHF station in a poker game and he needs someone to run it. Weird Al, who gets fired from his work due to daydreaming about movie parodies, gets the job and hires Michael Richards as a janitor, who was fired from the big network station. Michael Richards happens in front of the camera and is instantly popular, leading to the UHF station starting to grow and compete with the local network station. Weird Al uses his daydreaming to create interesting TV shows (aka funny 1 minute clips of parodies) and they become the number one station in town, but due to some sort of plot device, the station could be bought up by the owner of the big network station. Thanks to some other plot devices, they come close, fail then somehow pull it off and everyone celebrates except for the big shot network.

Yes, that synopsis sucks, but the movie is amazing.

The Naked Gun is one of the first movies I remember to really make me lol.

Frank Drebin: That's the red-light district. I wonder why Savage is hanging around down there.
Ed Hocken: Sex, Frank?
Frank Drebin: Uh, no, not right now, Ed. We've got work to do.

But there are a lot of great mentions in this thread.

Stanley: "I'm thinking of something orange. SOMETHING orange... give up? It's an orange!"
Stanley: "I'm thinking of something blue. Something BLLUUUUUUUUUUEEEE..."
Goon: "Please.. can I kill him?"
Stanley: "DUN DUH-DUH-DUN DUH-DUH-DUN DUH-DUH-DUN DUH-DUH-DUUUUUN-DAAAAAAA, DUN DUH-DUH-DUN DUH-DUH-DUN DUH-DUH-DUN DUH-DUH-DUN-DUN-DUN-DAH-DUN!"
Stanley: "WHAT? DON'T YOU LIKE BONANZA?"

Kuni: "Are you ready, Mrs. Weeevah?!"
Mrs. Weaver: "Sure am, Kuni!"
Kuni: "Go ahead and give the wheel a big spin!"
*spins wheel*
Kuni: "MMMMMmmmm! Red Snappah... velly tasty! So, Weavah, do you want to keep your Red Snappah?! Or do you want what's in the box that Ino-san is bringing down the aisle right now??"
*crowd chants for the box*
Mrs. Weaver: "I... uh.. the box! I'll take the box!"
Kuni: "She took the box! Let's see.. WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!"
*Ino-san lifts the box*
Kuni "Nothing! Absorutely nothing!" (turning to Weaver) "STUPID! YOU SO STUPID!"

The Cannonball Run still is the funniest movie ever in my humblest opinion.

2 Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Ni!)
3 Guest House Paradiso (everything with Rik Mayal and Adrian Edmunson kicks ass!)
4 Monty Python's Life of Brian (Stone him!) :lol
5 National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (a sure bet every Christams in this household.)

How many of you have seen Monty Python's Yellowbeard?

It hasn't come out on DVD and I don't know why :(. I love that movie and it's so fucking funny!

Animal House
Animal House probably has the best ending of any movie ever. :lol Such a great movie. And I would have to say the first Mr. Bean movie. The whole movie was so funny and Bean was so outrageously weird but I could see someone like him existing. :lol

Wow, I saw that in theaters and it was the first and only movie I was about to walk out of. I'm sorry but I thought it was just terrible, I didn't laugh at all. Judging from your avatar you seem to be a fan though. I guess it's just a matter of taste.

Dumb and Dumber and Kung Pow for me.

there is no way someone could consider monty python & the holy grail funnier than monty python & the life of brian.

no.
way.

I prefer Holy Grail over Life of Brian but what does it matter? My top 3 only consists of Monty Python movies because NOTHING is as funny.

The Great Dictator
The Gold Rush(
His Girl Friday
Phiadelphia Story
Bringing Up Baby
The Apartment(tennis racket draining the spagetti scene is priceless)
Some Like It Hot
Dr Strangelove
Kingpin
Groundhog Day
Rockmore
The Life Acquatic
The Squid and the Whale
The Big Lebowski
The Monty Pythons
Dumb And Dumber

this scene from the gold rush is without question one of the 5 greatest scenes in movie history.

Was huge one for me, I can not count how many times I watched it or how many times one of my friends drop on of the many killer lines from it.

Hah how did i forget Space Balls. Out of all the many films ive seen, this is the film ive watched the most times. I know every single word of it XD

Also a funniest film thread would not be complete without a mention of the Marx brothers, so here it is.

'Kenny' - a fairly recent Aussie movie about a porterloo guy, which sadly most of you will never see. It's done in the Office/documentary style, and just hilarious and touching from start to finish. Better than Monty Python or Jim Carey #34 or Ben Stiller #98 or any other movies I've seen mentioned here.

QFT
It's surprisingly poignant, and utterly hilarious

One of the best movies I've seen, period, actually

Dumb and Dumber. I swear this movie doesn't get old after so many watches!! Jim Carrey's and Jeff Daniels' facial expressions are on another level.
Thats what I came in here to post.

Brilliant film. I've watched it countless times but still laugh the whole way through.

*Bean Movie*

Absolutely hilarious and horribly nerve wrecking too.
nah, too "American" would be the right word, I guess. It was funny, but it felt like a diferent Mr Bean, and less funnier than the tv show.

Exactly, the show is utterly brilliant, but the movie totally fails to capture the essence of Mr. Bean imo. I even refuse to watch the second movie.

/edit: I'd like to add Ed Wood to my list actually. It's not an out and out comedy, but it's definitely one of the funnieste I've seen in several ways.

Yeah I saw it.. I just don't know what's so good about it. There must be more to it than commenting that they have large beverages?
