People need to complain about something. Go back a year or two, and it'll be people bitching about Jeff or Ryan being too negative and talking too much.

Nah, when Ryan or Jeff turn on the negativity, the cynicism usually comes across as genuine. Easy to disagree, but often you can understand their perspective. Usually explained, but rarely for the sheer sake or intent.

With Alex, I usually don't get a sense that the cynicism is genuine. As if there is an awkward hole he is trying to fill by 'acting' as such. Considering the consistency, it just becomes irritating.

Big guys (no offense) give people the feeling of more trustworthy?

People's reactions to their comments on things like Demon Souls, or GT5, or Persona 3 Portable, or Red Dead Redemption, etc say otherwise.

That's what the PC version is for.

Config hacking ftw. Change the feel of the gunplay via accuracy/damage tweaks if you can't adapt to the default system.

Yeah, they should fire a personal friend of theirs because some internet whiners don't like him. This will DEFINITELY happen.

Being someone's friend isn't exactly a reason for anyone to keep a job.

That being said I personally don't have that much of an issue with Alex, I agree he can grate at times but he can also be pretty funny. I'm kinda indifferent to him for the most part.

Agreed. I found nothing wrong with Alex's banter during the TDU2 Quick Look.

"Finally some techno up in this bitch" and "Yo, you got any Tiesto up in this bitch?" literally 15 seconds apart. He's so annoying.

And his ironic "Uh, it's Eh-beeth-a" is almost more annoying than some douchebag saying it non-ironically.

Alex is awesome, and he did a great job on the Test Drive QL. Also, he works harder than anyone there, doing Screened articles and podcasts, Quicklooks, Happy Hour, TNT, and being the usual second-string choice for the Bombcast.

I also enjoyed Kessler, for the most part. People bitch too much.

Alex can sometimes have his comedic moments but when he's bad (which is quite often) he is really, really bad. I was looking forward to the TDU2 QL but after watching 5 or so minutes, there was no way I could go through that whole thing because of him.

I usually don't find Alex to be a problem at all. I didn't find Kessler to be a problem either and thought people were exaggerating. And when I saw people complaining about Alex in this one I rolled my eyes and thought "I don't understand why everyone hates him so much, he's fine."

Then I watched it and c'mon man, tone it down. Don't keep shouting the same overtly sarcastic joke five times in a row and hope it sticks.

"Ugh, could we get any more Ee-beeth-a up in this techno Europe DJ Tiesto gay joke!? Guys?"

If I ever had the misfortune of getting roped into a real life conversation with one of you, you'd probably either bore me to death with whatever obscure bullshit you're into or annoy the fuck out of me until I'd have to make up an excuse to leave.

I can tell that he's trying to fit in and is a little unsure of himself. Doesn't bother me, though.

No one works as hard as vinny, except maybe the top men.

Is that so?:

I hope this feud is all in jest. If it's going to cause a rift between Jeff and Ryan, well, I could live without NDX.

Alex has worked with all these guys before (and for a very long time), so why would he have trouble fitting in? He has a special sense of humor, and a different(*GASP*) voice, but he is not acting.

Also, haters gonna hate and all that

Trying to fit in? Alex has worked with/been friends with these guys for the past 10 years. You know nothing.

I think what some people are mistaking for "trying to fit in" is Alex just being a little more on than usual when the camera rolls. I'm sure it's something we'd all do if we were recorded with the notion of being entertaining.

Of course he is great friends with them, he just isn't as funny as them and it comes off as a little awkward. No one here wants to kill Alex.

He appears to be unsure of himself and trying to fit in. Happy now? Also, I was defending Alex just a few posts above the one you quoted. Also, it doesn't matter if they're friends or not - people are always trying to fit in.

I thought Alex did great on the TDU2 quicklook. The interplay between the main 4 personalities is amazing, but even that could get tired over time. I enjoy having a new "face" on these things, so they can mix it up a bit.

His "I LOOOOOVE YOOOUUUUU!!" at the end got a good hearty laugh out of me. I mean, he's not my favorite guy at Whiskey. Yeah, he's a bit loud and has kind of a weird nervous laugh, and yeah his jokes fall flat a lot, but he's not worthless like a lot of people here seem to think.

I think he's a decent, knowledgeable guy. Feel free to disagree with me. But saying he should be out on his ass/kicked out of Giant Bomb content because some anonymous people on the internet don't like him is a pinch extreme. Especially since he's their friend and has a history in game coverage. They don't have a huge crew, so they need all the help they can get.

I like Alex. He does good reviews and Screened is a good site but he needs to tone it down a bit on the quick looks. He wasn't awful in the test drive QL though.

Yeah, just keep him away from the camera and he's fine.

Or at least from the QLs, that's the only thing I'm watching on the site anyway.

Sorry guys, add me to the pile of Alex haters. The only thing I dislike more at Whiskey Media than Alex is Brad's laugh, it reminds me of Count Von Count. "AH. AH. AH. AH."

I like him in the screened portions of the happy hour, but put me down in keeping him from QLs.

Love that laugh.

Wow, someone is angry about free video content they could easily not watch.

See, I can play the "u mad?" card, too! :D

well, since you're pretty much the only one who started attacking other people's opinions on the matter, you semeed pretty mad to me. i only watch ql's from the site and i certainly don't watch anything that has alex in it, so i gave my two cents. chill.

Alex sounds like he's always "on", which is probably why some people don't like him.

he's never on in a good way though. he just keeps rambling about stupid shit and constantly talks over everyone. i dont hate the guy or anything but most quick looks he's on are hard to listen to.

His attempts to cram as many memes and catchphrases as possible into a block of time get old. If he'd just back off a bit it would be fine.
