Yeah, ain't gonna get nothing done today. From the names alone I'd guess 3 of those are going to be very comical, while WipeOut could be the "serious" one of the bunch. I mean, Kinect, Phelps and Sesame Street, can't disappoint right?

Previous Wipeout QLs have been hilarious.

Goodbye productivity.

I can't wait for wipeout and Michael Phelps. Glorious trainwrecks.

I Jeff's defence, Ace Combat games are kind of awful. I used to play a loooot of Ace Combat and I really enjoyed the bits where they made you fly super fast through tunnels or take out ridiculous flying fortresses, but the bread and butter missions where you just shoot down a hundred nameless jets for half an hour are even less interesting to watch than they were to play. And the newest Ace Combat games seem to be trying to distance themselves from the heady days of tunnels and bossfights in favour of just drab, monotonous 'realism' which puts the basic gameplay of 'get tone, fire off two missiles, repeat' into stark relief. This close-up shaky-cam stuff they're doing in this game looks seems pretty neat but by the end of the Quick Look I felt like I'd seen about all it had to offer. I'll give the demo a try but I'm really not expecting much more than the same old game again without the cool setpieces.

That opening cutscene where you control the guy's head as he walks through that building is really jittery, too.

Yeah, I know. I just think he'd be an amazing addition to the GB crew.

I've been thinking of who can join the crew to give GB a sort of all-star games-press staff. My choices would be Arthur, Anthony Gallegos, Ray Barnholt, Phil Kollar, Ludwig Keitzmann and probably some other that I can't think of right now.

The idea that Arthur would add anything positive to Giant Bomb is ridiculous, and anyone who has had the misfortune of listening to Rebel FM knows he would be the worst possible fit for the Bombcast. It's one thing for him to beat his little buddies into the ground with his superiority complex, but trying that on Jeff and Vinny would never work. He would cost Giant Bomb members by the thousands.

That's pretty mean, man :p I wasn't thinking about the Wipeout tv show tbh.
I was being sarcastic :P

At first glance, I totally thought they somehow were doing a QL of the Vita Wipeout game.

Just googled, no idea it was the same guy. My exposure to the muppets is pretty small, just the one film actually.
Sue your parents.

I think a Vinny/Brad Too Human co-op endurance run would be awesome. They both seem into it, especially Brad which seems odd.

Having Jeff and Ryan force their way through DS at the same time would be a great juxtaposition.

wipeout 2 AND the michael phelps game?! goodness gracious, this fall line-up is indeed a killer

Yup, me too. Just clarified to the others that I thought it wasn't a tv show based game, hence the serious quick look.

Well the Sesame Street QL didn't blow my socks off. Glad there's more to come.

I completly agree with this.

The kinect quick looks play out how Ryan has described the games. Just doing them, boring. Doing them while screaming and flailing your arms in the air like a mad man, awesome.

God Ace Combat looks fun. Would totally get on it if not for the apparent short campaign and Batman coming out next week.

Yep, the timing of this game is terrible. I also prioritize Batman. Ace should have been released December or January. Those are almost always dead months.

weird they haven't made a QL for the new uncharted 3 beta.
Right? I was thinking about this last week. Maybe they are waiting for the full game to come out and do a TnT thing or something.

Agreed. I adored the older Ace Combat games, and my fondest memories are the same as yours. Blowing up massive endgame sci-fi installations, and other 'gimmick' levels like flying low in a canyon to avoid instant kill satellite barrages.

Everything outside of that stuff is just monotonous and boring. Dogfighting 'aces' can be intense, but when it's just the bread and butter gameplay it loses me. I was exhausted watching that Quick Look. 20+ minutes of Ryan doing the same maneuvers on a single mission with no break or gimmick to change things up was too much. The game just felt like it forgot about the player entirely, infinitely respawning drones.

I really hope the game has more to offer in later sorties, but my days with Ace Combat seemed to end after part 4.

Kind of a shame. Even as a parent I would be very dismissive of this 'game' for my kids. Not seeing any value in the minigames based on that QL. Was expecting a somewhat more interactive episode of the show, with some educational stimulus tucked within. But this is just pointless arm-flailing. Not seeing very creative use of the license outside of how good the puppets look digitally.

What? Why is Arthur Gies there? Fuck me if he becomes a friend of the site.

Yeah I really don't like him very much and his voice is annoying. He's one of the main reasons I cant listen to RebelFM. Also, Anthony is kind of annoying too.

Amen. Arthur is the like the opposite of a good improv partner. Whenever anyone gets off topic or makes jokes, his response is negative rather than positive. I don't know if it's on purpose, but the way he behaves (often, not always) works to shut the conversation down rather than enhance it.
